SYNOPSIS

RIVER has an extensive past of being disappointed and unwanted starting in the beginning years of her childhood when she was first left at someones doorstep and hours later brought to an orphanage. More times than not- not being zero times- she found herself being sent back instead of adopted, and eventually she learned to deal with it, so she didn't put effort in and instead did as much as she could to get sent back.

Most times she wouldn't even have to do anything to get sent back- the reason usually being that as soon as she showed up paranormal activity began to take place in the house often making the guardian(s) that had decided to foster her wonder if she was possessed or haunted by something, often discouraging them from wanting to adopt her.

This continued for years on end before River met Gen, and she was not happy about the encounter one bit.

Gen is determined to make things work besides having torn the child from her roots in another town and taking her to Beacon Hills to start anew. River however is trying her very hardest to make sure things don't work out, until she meets Scott and Stiles. Starting with the first dinner in her new home Gen invites Scott over while she's at work in hopes of River becoming friends with Scott, instead she finds that River believes this is her way of keeping an eye on her without having to be around. God, Gen really wished she hadn't let her meet Stiles, the sheriffs son and nosy at heart; he seemed to always be dragging Scott along with him on his legally questionable adventures, the last thing she had wanted was for River to get pulled into their trouble.

The last thing she wanted was for River to become that trouble.

But she became that trouble the day she had her outburst in the bathroom that sent the sinks into utter chaos, and the sheriffs son just happens to be wondering the halls when said chaos begins, quickly leading him to the conclusion something is utterly wrong with River, something very, very wrong.
