Chapter 5

Ace has never really trusted Nami. At all. So when she came to him with a plan to win Vivi back, he couldn't help but be skeptical. However, she had already forced her way into his house, so he had no choice but to listen.

"Okay, Ace" Nami began. "Now what you need to do is....nothing."

"Uh what?" He really didn't know what she was going on about.

"Just listen!" She punched the kitchen table and continued. "One of the reasons why Vivi doesn't want you anymore is because you're a loser!"

"This isn't helping..." Ace muttered.

"You begging for her love, or trying to become friends again is pitiful to her."

She really had no filter.

"So anything you do at this point will only make it worse. Therefore, you do nothing!" She concluded.

"Okay....then how am I supposed to win her back?" Ace asked slowly.

"Instead of telling her that you're worthy of her, show her! Make you're life so amazing, that she'll want to get to know you again."

"There's no way to show her tho....I'm pretty sure she blocked me on instagram..."

"Just trust me okay! I already took care of that!" She started raising her voice. "Just do your best to evolve, and eventually, she'll fall for you again."

"Okay fine...." He had no idea if her plan would work. Vivi already has her life together and is self-sufficient. She wouldn't care what he's up to. But at this point, trusting Nami was his only option.

Before he could say anything else, he heard the front door swing open. The sound of Luffy and Usopp's tone deaf singing filled the house and Ace rolled his eyes.

'Oh yeah. It's Friday....' Ace thought. "I guess it's time for you to get home, eh Nami?" But when be turned to look at her, she was already gone. "Huh?"

"Hey Nami! What are you doing here?!" Ace heard Luffy yelling from the other room.

"This is where I take my leave...." Ace got up from the kitchen table, and headed up stairs. Hopefully they wouldn't get too loud.

"DUDE STOP SPAMMING!!" Usopp yelled as they played Super Smash Bro's. Luffy had a habit of endlessly spamming Diddy Kong's peanut gun and Usopp couldn't get Duck Hunt away. As soon as he did, however, Nami used Pikachu's thunder to knock him out of the stage.

"GUYS SERIOUSLY?!?!?!" Usopp was pretty serious about Smash, and hated spamming and tag teaming.

"Nice Luffy!" Nami said as she gave Luffy a high five.

"I guess we're just better than you Usopp!" Luffy teased him, while laughing.

"AGH!!!" Usopp exclaimed once more.

"Will you guys shut up?!" An angry Ace called from upstairs.

Usopp sighed as he stood up and stretched. "Let's do something else."

"Eh?! But this is fun! And I'm winning!" Nami whined.

"Yeah I'm getting bored too. Let's go on an adventure!" Luffy suggested and Nami was a little confused.

"Where would we even go?" She asked them as they walked towards the front door.

"We'll figure it out." He told her as he turned around and smiled.

She smiled in return. "Okay!" This could be fun.

On the other side of town, Zoro sat in his room and stared at his phone. He had been thinking about why he couldn't just talk to the girl at the library. He could talk to Perona and other girls just fine. But the more he thought about it, he realized he could never talk to them 'politely'. And for some reason he really didn't want to scare the cyan haired girl off.

And now he contemplated doing something, he never thought he would. Asking Sanji for help. He decided to swallow his pride and dial his number.

However, Sanji did not answer the phone, and Zoro felt pretty dumb.

He fell back onto his bed and sighed.

"What am I even doing..." he asked himself.

"ZORO!!!!" He heard Perona call from downstairs. "Did you eat my tiramisu?!"

He closed his eyes and ignored her. The last thing he felt like doing was arguing with her, but he no longer had a choice when she barged into his room.

"I told you that I was saving that for tonight!!" She yelled over him.

"Yeah, yeah I'm sorry..." he said absentmindedly.

She continued berating him for about 5 minutes, and then he spoke up once again.

"Hey Perona." He said as he looked up at her. She seemed to surprised by his serious tone, and stopped yelling at him.

"Yeah...?" She responded slowly.

Zoro really didn't want to ask this, but decided to take the chance.

"Uh...how can I be...polite?" He cringed internally at what he was saying, but kept a straight face.

Perona looked at him with a blank expression and then burst into laughter.

"Hororo!! I- I don't think that's possible for you!"

He rolled his eyes. "Yeah whatever, nevermind." At this point he felt that he was hopeless.

She tried to catch her breath and stop laughing. "Ho...why- why do you even want to be polite all of a sudden!?"

"No reason...there's just this girl who goes to the library and-"

"A girl?" Perona's tone dropped to that of a serious one. "Why do you want to talk to a girl...?"

"I- I don't know! She just seems interesting to me..." he tried to explain. If Zoro were to be honest with himself, he didn't even know why he wanted to talk to her. "But just forget about it... it's dumb anyway."

Perona looked annoyed at him. "Yeah it is dumb." She said before walking out of his room.

'She's so annoying...' Zoro thought. His phone began to buzz and he saw that he got a text.

Stupid Cook: what do you want Marimo

Zoro sighed and typed his reply.

~~

"This is your idea of fun?" Nami asked in disbelief as she watched Luffy and Usopp drawing robots. In the end, they really couldn't find anything else to do, so they resorted to creating blue prints for a robot.

"This isn't just fun Nami, it requires intellect." Usopp explained without looking up from his drawing.

"Yeah, intellect!" Luffy repeated.

"I'm going home." She said with a sigh, but they were barely paying attention to her.

As she walked home she opened instagram and saw that Sabo posted on his story. It was a picture of him and some other people studying in the library.

She decided to reply to it.

Tsumani: You're as studious as ever, I see.

Within a minute he liked her message and replied.

Sabo: Haha yup! You better be as well :)

She sighed at his text. They still talked a little, but she never let him notice how she felt. Despite this, she still had hope that they would work out.

Tsunami: I've been hanging out with Luffy! He's really funny

Sabo: Ahh rly?! That's so cool! And yeah he rly is 😂

She liked the message and started skipping. Nami believed that once Ace and Vivi get back together, it'll be a lot easier for Sabo to fall for her.

"It's just a matter of time!" She said with a smile.

It wasn't often that Zoro would be able to find his way to his desired destination. Usually, he would end up in a completely different place. And this time was no different than the others.

He stood in front of a gas station and wondered if he should go left or right to reach the library. After Sanji gave him some pretty decent advice, he wanted to see the cyan haired girl right away. However, that was two hours ago, and Zoro was still trying to get there.

He contemplated calling Perona, but was too annoyed by her to even bother. Just as he was about to lose hope, he heard a woman scream. He rushed to the direction of the voice, and was surprised to see the cyan haired girl in an alley way. A man with long blonde hair was laughing hysterically, and seemed to be harassing her.

Without a second thought, Zoro leaped into action. He grabbed the man and punched him as hard as he could, successfully knocking him out in just one hit.

The girl fell to her knees, and began sobbing. "Thank-thank you so much."

Zoro noticed how fragile the girl seemed, and wondered why should would walk alone at this hour

"If you're that weak, maybe consider not being out this late." Zoro blurted without thinking.

She bit her lip, and Zoro realized that his words must've hurt her.

He sighed and helped her up. "I'll walk you home."

She wiped her tears and looked up to him. "Thank you." She said quietly.

He realized just how pretty she was seeing her up close.

"Let's go."

~~

Zoro didn't expect the girl to live alone in such a small apartment. Considering that she went to a private school, he assumed that she was pretty well off.

Before he left she thanked him again and asked for his name.

"Zoro." Is all he said.

She brightened at the sound of his name.

"What a strong name!" She said sweetly. "I'm Hiyori."

'Hiyori.' He thought.

"I guess I'll see you around then." He said as he walked away.

"Goodbye..." She said quietly.

Even after helping Hiyori and learning her name, Zoro found himself wanting to know more about her. However, he decided to just head home.

That's when he realized that he had no idea where home was.

Just when he was about to call Perona, he saw some familiar faces.

"Hey Luffy, Usopp!" He called out to them.

"Zoro!!!" They yelled simultaneously.

He walked to them and noticed that they were drawing robots.

"Are you lost or something?" Luffy asked causing Zoro to be annoyed.

"Shut up, I know exactly where I am." He told him. "But I think I'll stay here with you guys." Zoro realized that staying with Luffy and Usopp might be his only way home.

Despite, how loud Luffy and Usopp were being, Zoro couldn't pay attention to anything except for what he was thinking about. Or rather who he was thinking about.
