PART TWO
1.
Sally Gibson is a dreamer ... no not a day dreamer or someone who has grandiose ideas on how to make the world a better place ... but someone who has dreams. Yeah, we all dream, and Sally's dreams used to be as ordinary as anyone else's until a point in time came where she would wake up and remember every iota of the dream, she had only just woken from ...
Nothing overly unique or special in there until you consider that the dreams she has are of other people's lives, their actual experiences ... right down to the smallest detail. How does she know this to be true? ... For starters, she has met many of those with whom she has dreamed about and those meeting came long after the dreams did. To top it all off, she saw a lot of what was to come before it actually came. She saw in her dreams moments she would in actuality get to witness; thing was that no one believed her.
The dead are coming ... the dead are coming ... They called her crazy, they locked her up and when the dead really did come ... well ... wasn't that a kick in the teeth. Long before the madness arrives, long before she is deemed to be crazy to the point where any need arises to see her institutionalized, Sally approaches the Main Street area of her hometown.
She sees two people of whom she has only ever seen in dreams. By such a time as this, Sally has accepted as fact that what she sees in her dreams are something of fact even if said fact is of something yet to occur. These two people, they look a little different to how they do in her dreams. Sally feels compelled to say something when the young lady she sees walks away in apparent frustration leaving her companion standing right where he is, being more than a little unsure as to what he should do in this moment.
'You are Steve Orwell, are you not?' Sally asks as she come close to the young man.
'I am ... do I know you?'
'And that lady is your wife Karen Orwell ...?
'Heck no, but her name is Karen. ... Who are you?'
'You have a son named Leon ... correct?'
'Son? No, lady ... what's your deal?'
'Well, you better get after your lady friend there and apologize for whatever it is she is mad at you for, ... certain events depend on your actions right now. If I were you, I'd get right to it. ...'
It's safe to say that this Steve fellow is more than a little confused. When he looks away from this stranger who has come to him, he can see Karen still walking off. 'Lady ... you're crazy' he says to this stranger though he must feel that there is a certain something about what had been said to him.
There is a certain something about Karen and there is a sadness along with some regret with what caused her to walk away. He does not waste much more time in going after Karen and when he does get to her, he does apologize, offering to make things up to her that very evening.
What Steve and Karen get up to on that very evening may go some way in setting up future events with which Sally has already seen, and a special broadcast Sally watches on television on this particular evening may also go some way towards those future events too. An American current events analyst interviews a Russian scientist.
'So, you are saying that scientists in Russia are creating super soldiers on behalf of the Russian government?'
'This is the idea ... yes', his accent is Russian and those watching who do not know any better, could easily assume this whole interview is fake once they hear what it is he has to say. '... but something went wrong. The serum created acts more as a virus than anything else. The virus settles in the brain and affects T cells in the blood. Instead of strengthening those who have been injected ... it reanimates their corpse once they pass on and when they do return, continuing to fight is something they do not tend to do.'
'Surely what you are telling me is nothing more than ... than fiction.'
'I wish it were ... those infected ... so to speak ... generally show no signs of any kind of infection so long as they live. In death however, ...'
'This ... infection as you put it ... can it be spread?'
'Yes, from living to living or from the dead to the living and only through blood contact ... a bite or scratch could and would do it ...'
He goes on to explain what becomes of these reanimated people stating the fact that once dead, they no longer are ... people. Hey also mentions that America, the U S of A are also at it. One nation may have stolen research from the other, each wanting to get an upper hand. Who stole from who can be up for debate especially with there being rumours coming out of Europe, Africa and Asia too.
'The dead are coming ...' Sally says out loud. This is not the first thing she has said such a thing and it will not be the last time either.
