Part Three
Kaitlin's POV
Was I really going to my common room? No. Why on this earth would I do that? I have places to go, people to see! In other words, I should have been put in Slytherin, with all these, 'activities' I'm about to do. I headed to the great hall, knowing nobody would find me there, unless they were troubled. Of course, before dad went to bad, he taught me how to act like a Slytherin. Which means I know where the common room is. When I heard footsteps, I pretended to cry, and let me tell ya, I'm a good actress. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the doors open slowly, like whoever it was didn't want to be seen. I kept fake crying. It's simple logic, really. I like Steven, Steven likes Riley, Riley likes Gabe. And who does Gabe like? Moi. See? Logic. Maybe I should have been a Ravenclaw. 'Gabe' walked over. "You ok?". This was not his voice. I sniffled. "It's just, I don't understand", I said, still acting sad, "I got a love letter, but I have no idea who sent it! And my best friend went on a date, so there's nobody I feel like I can talk to!". He brushed my hair out of my eyes, and I looked into his. Uh, news flash. This isn't Gabe. It's Scorpius Malfoy. He took a step back. "Your a Gryffindor?!", he asked, slightly alarmed. "No", I replied, "I'm a Slytherin, just as my dad". He relaxed, but looked like he knew something. "So, need help with that letter?". "Sure, just let me find it", I said, reaching into my bag. I handed it to him, and he opened it. His brow furrowed. He handed it back, well, more like shoved. That was the last thing he did before storming outside, fists clenched.
Riley's POV
I walked up to my dorm, feeling happy. I can't wait until tomorrow, because Steven is in some of my classes. I crashed onto my bed, and I was asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. *The Next Morning* I woke with a start, because I wanted to tell Kaitlin about last night. I quickly got dressed and raced down to the Great Hall. I was the first one there, as it was 5:30 in the morning. Well, almost first. I saw Kaitlin asleep at the Slytherin table! I walked over and tapped her on the neck.
"IM AWAKE", she screamed. "SHHHHH! Your gonna wake someone up!", I half yelled. She yawned. "What are you doing here anyway?", she asked. "Wanting to tell you about last night, which reminds me, what were you doing last night?". "Waiting for food, duh." "Oh. Ok." *After Kaitlin gets told about the date* "And that's what happened last night." I looked over and saw the sun was up. "We might want to get to our tables, wouldn't want to be caught at the Slytherin one", I told her. We got up and went to our house tables, where I pulled out a book. Soon, the tables were full and so were the plates. I put down my book and Bon appetite!
Kaitlin's POV
Food, food, food! Ok, even if I'm deep in thought, I love food. It's a part of me, like my dads Horcruxs. As I eat my food, I wonder why Scorpius was here, this late. I was counting on Gabe needing to unravel his thoughts, but it was Scorpius? Ugh. Boys are confusing. Oh, look, pumpkin pie! *Later, in Herbology* Welcome to Herbology! Your House partners will be Slytherin! Great. Note the sarcasm. Ok, working with jelly roots, which produce jelly. There very hard to care for though. Everyone got a plant, and my jelly was apple. Apple jelly. Weird. I put my plant in a pot, covering it with soil. I put some fertilizer with it, and some water. Next, I pulled the biggest root through the bottom of the pot. I placed the jar under the root, and squeezed. Voila! Apple jelly. I looked around, and saw Gabe having trouble. I walked over, and showed him where to squeeze, and put the jar under it. Forgetful Slytherin's. When will we ever learn?
Riley's POV
I was sitting in the library. Doing what, you ask? Reading. About what, you ask? No idea. I'm not paying attention. I've been thinking about my date. While I'm reading/thinking, Steven walks up. "Hey", he said. "Hiheyyyy", I said awkwardly. He looked at me with a weird face. "Ok then. Well, I was wondering if you would go with me to the Halloween Ball?" "Yes, even though it's two months away", I say with a smile. He smiles back, and walks back to his friends, Gabe and Scorpius. I giggle before returning to my book.
Kaitlin's POV
That happened. I just saw Riley get asked to the Halloween Ball, by my crush! Whatever. Anyways, I have my own problems to sort out. First, what was wrong with Scorpius? Speaking of that, I'll have to sleep in his common room some nights. Nice. Now, who sent the letter? Was it Gabe, Scorpius, or even Steven, to confuse me? "URGG", I accidentally yelled, causing the whole library to look at me. I quickly shoved my books into my bag and walked out. I went to the courtyard, where I could have some fresh air. I sat down, and got out my book again. I was oblivious to a Gryffindor boy, Jeremy Black, sat next to me. "Hey, your Kaitlin, right?". "Pretty sure". He smiled. I smiled. "Well, would you like to take a walk?", he asked. "Sure!", I replied. "Oh, and I'm Jeremy, by the way", he said, before we headed off.
Riley's POV
Potions! The most interesting of them all! I can't wait unt- just kidding. The only reason I'm going is because of Slytherin. Ya, Ravenclaws rarely get classes with Slytherin or Gryffindor, because their paired for most classes. But I don't care, because they get a lot of dangerous classes. A shiver ran through my spine when I entered the dungeons. Speaking of dungeons, why on earth would Hogwarts have dungeons? I started to debate about it when I entered the classroom. "Good afternoon Professor Slughorn!", I trilled enthusiastically, taking a seat near the back. I never did like the spotlight. "Good afternoon, Ms. Wilson.", he replied. I took out my books and cauldron. I was getting it organized on the desk when Penelope poked me. "Hey", she said. "Hey", I replied, rubbing my arm. She took a seat, pulling out her supplies. I poked her, pointing to a cute Ravenclaw boy I knew she liked. I swear, she went more red than a tomato. I giggled. "Landon and Penelope sitting in tree, k i s s i n g!", I whisper-sang. She punched me in the arm. "Ok class, today we will learn the Draught of Living Death. Can anyone tell me what it does?", Professor Slughorn asked. Nobody raises their hand, so mine slowly crept up. Which caused the whole class to look at me. "Ms. Wilson?", he asked. I cleared my throat, "The Draught of Living Death is the most powerful sleeping potion in the world. If you drink to much at one time, it will cause the drinker to sleep forever." "Excellent! Five points to Ravenclaw! Now, I want everyone to brew one, and the brewer of the best potion will win a small bottle of Amortentia.", said the Professor. "A love potion", I mumbled under my breath.
Kaitlin's POV
I walked to the Great Hall, and took a seat in the end of the Gryffindor table, where Sam was sitting. "Hey girl haaayyyyy", I said happily. "What's got you so happy, a boy?", she responded. "Mmmmaaaayyyybbbeeee", I replied, twirling a strand of my brown hair with my finger. "Spill", she said, looking as if she would put Veritaserum in my drink if I didn't. "Jeremy Black, second year Gryffindor, walk on the big bridge", I said quickly, like I did this all the time. "So, when's the second date", she asked. "Uh, I don't-" "Hey Kaitlin, sorry to interrupt, but could I see you in the hall for a second?" "Uh, sure Jeremy. We will continue this later, Sam", I said, before walking it the hall with him.
