Chapter 7: Growing Up

Ahana's POV

Manvi had started crawling and sitting on her own. She has been crawling all over the house and making sounds.

Her toys were roaming in every corner of the house. I said "mannu.. Have food"

The little girl looked at me in a frog position and smiled. She shook her head in no, I eyed her "mannu I need to go to school" I spoke.

She started to crawl on her knees with fast baby steps running away from me. GuruMaa laughed at her act.

I rushed behind her and held her. I made her sit on my lap as I had enough of her drama. She made weird faces and I fed her with my hands.

Just then I heard a noise, I glanced towards the direction from where sound came from. It was Sneha who had fallen down as Manvi's top came into her feet while she was carrying the water bucket towards the bathroom.

She glared at me and shouted "can't you take care of your child toys so careless"

She was the first person who was always against my decision to keep Manvi with me. She always taunted me, manipulate me. I hated her for this, I replied "she is just 9 months old and kids are suppose to play"

She argued with me "then take her to the room, this hall is not for only her many of us has issues we can't do our work properly"

I was fuming in anger hearing her before I could give her a reply GuruMaa spoke "Sneha you could have walked carefully.. If you can't love then please don't hate. If you have issues then you can go to another house of our community"

I smiled, Sneha looked on and walked away. I thanked GuruMaa, she came and glanced at Manvi.

She eyed her, "you can play anywhere okay?" she spoke.

Manvi chuckled as if she understood the situation. I smiled, I handed Manvi to her and then went to school for dance classes.

The kids were playing around in the room, I said "kids.."

They looked at me with a smile "Good morning mam"

I smiled and then started teaching them the dance. After 3 hours of teaching to different groups, I headed back to the house.

There were just 2 transgenders at home, it seemed the rest of them had gone to a function. I asked one of them about Manvi, they said she was playing here just 15 minutes ago.

I searched for her but she was nowhere to be found. I then headed towards the stairs and was shocked. She had been sleeping on the third stair and I sighed in disappointment.

This girl is getting impossible day by day, how she climbed the stairs and slept. God, I have to take care of her because she might hurt herself. I picked her up in my arms and took her inside the room.

I made her lay inside the cradle and sat down on the bed. I adore her, she was looking so innocent. Then, I looked at the mess in the room.

All the toys were scattered, and the teddy bear had fallen. I arranged things properly and thought "what will happen when she grows up??" I need to teach her lots of things. I hope I give her the good values which every mother gives to her child.

One fine day, I returned from school and I was totally stunned. Manvi was trying to climb on the table. After 5 minutes, she managed to climb the table. She sat down on the table and held the tv remote.

She randomly pressed the button and the Tv turned on. The music played and she started to clap. She stood up and started to dance, I went to her as she was almost at the edge of the table.

I scolded her "this is not the place to dance"

She pointed towards the screen, I sighed and grabbed her tiny fingers to make her dance.

There was someone at the door, I made her sit on the couch and then went to attend the person.

I heard Manvi's voice "mumma.. Aa..o.." she spoke in her broken words.

I said "beta just 5 minutes"

I turned and tears slipped down my eyes, she had got down from the couch and started walking towards me. I got on my knees and watched her taking her first steps. She fell halfway and cried.

I smiled under teary eyes and grabbed her. I kissed her forehead "so now you have to run in the house"

She passed me her innocent smile. I helped her with learning to walk. Within 2 weeks, she had learned to run around in the house leading me to also run behind her.

She herself climbed the steps, I looked at me from the top. I grabbed her and scolded her "stop climbing the stairs"

She made a sad face and I took her into the room to sleep. But, she was not ready to sleep. She wanted to run into the house again. I sighed in disappointment, day by day she is becoming a stubborn child.

3 Years Later

I can't believe it, it has been 4 years since I brought Manvi into my life. So far motherhood had been full of joy, selflessness and most importantly chasing around.

Many transgenders enjoyed her acts and accepted her, but some still often ask me to send her to her world. I strictly told them, not to talk about this in front of her.

I heard a loud noise "Ahana.. See what she had done"

I rushed to check and was left shocked. I shouted "Manvi.."

Hope you all liked it.

So what did little Manvi do?

Don't forget to vote and comment. 😊😊❤️❤️

Lots of love.
