29. Reality sucks, but not that much.

Life keeps on throwing challenges, although we catch the ones that fit our dreams.

But in my case, none of the challenges listed right now was capable enough to help me reach my goal. I was in a golden mess right now and it was heartbreaking to even think about it. I reached the Martin mansion after racing with the winds, they loved to play with my hair while my hair loved to get frizzy and messy for no reason. Jade had a habit of ruining my hair, always! Everything right now was just reminding of his foolishness.

"Mimin!" Mum rushed out on seeing me get down Jade's bike. Technically, it was Jade's bike but didn't the papers made it clear, everything that belonged to him now belonged to me too.

"Mum!" I hugged her inhaling her sweet honeydew scent. "I missed you."

"No, you didn't." She slapped my back, "you were with your ocean, you can't miss anyone once you both get united."

Her words worked like salt on my wounds. "Don't worry, I'm back for good now."

I gave her a smile while walking inside my legal In-laws house for the first time in 2 years.

"Wait!" Jade yelled getting out of Liam's car. "Where do you think you're going, Renaldi?"

"Somewhere I could get rid of your face." I rolled my eyes.

"Mimi!" Riri jumped out of her car as her driver pulled it behind Liam's car.

"Hey, little sister!" I rushed to wrap her in my arms. I hadn't greeted her properly this morning, she sure was going to remember that for years. "My little bud had become a flower! You're so pretty!" I cupped her face.

"Yeah, just like a plum. Dark and fluffy." Liam mocked getting out of his car too. He still loved to tease her.

"Where's Noah?" Felicia aunt asked tossing her eyes at each one of our faces. I went on to hug her as she smiled loving the new graffiti I did on her son's bike.

"How does it look?" I winked moving aside.

"Gorgeous!" She cupped her face in awe. "I wish you could give this idiot some makeover as well." She pointed towards Jade.

"In your dreams," Jade smirked pulling up his sleeves.

Oh No!

"You Bitch!" He yelled chasing after me as I began to run farther away. "How could you Renaldi?"

"You stole my gun," I jumped up on Liam's car, "Its only fair if I do something to your true love!"

"Get down!" Liam almost cried, "That's my car, not Jade's."

"Mimin, get back here!" Jade crawled on top of Liam's car bonnet as I jumped to get on Riri's Car.

"Sissy, no!" Riri bit her fingers suppressing her scream.

"I'm sorry Riri, but it's his fault! All his!" I grinned throwing my bag at his face.

Jade smoothly dodged it as he rolled over to Riri's car like a ball. "You really think you can escape me?"

"Oh, you bet!" I smirked landing on the ground and running towards the gate. He followed me to the door of his house before finally getting a chance to corner me.

"Yes, I do bet." He smiled rubbing the back of his neck.

"Okay, that was just a prank..." I rolled the sleeves of my jacket as well, still struggling to run, "... don't take it to heart, please."

"We'll see about that." He bent down to reach the back of my knees as his one hand gripped my waist tightly picking me up. "You better wish the devil's on your side today."

I'm doomed!

"Put me down!" I punched his chest, "Down! Down!"

"Yeah, you've grown weaker while chasing your oceans." His jawline was thicker as he swayed me through the door of his room.

By now, Miael and Noah had already made their appearance and all our family members were busy speaking to them, especially trying to know why did she bring so many bags.

"Jade, please put me down." I finally began to beg. His scent was not something I can handle. It had the charm that suppressed the part of me that hated him.

He simply ignored my words and kept on walking inside the house. "You know, thankfully, I was on time." He took continuous steps on the stairs, "else, you'd have broken the first and foremost tradition of my family."

That's when it clicked, Jade Martin and his love for his traditions. "So, when do you plan on putting me down?"

"Now," he pushed the door of his den stepping inside.

"What?" I asked still hanging around his body.

"I've already left you a while back Mrs. Martin." He waved both his hands in front of my eyes as I realized, it was me holding his neck and shoulders while my feet touched his bed.

I quickly pulled my hands back, falling on the super cosy bed that he had. It had his scent too. Oh God, this whole room had his scent. I looked around his ice-cold den to find a couch placed at the right corner in front of his gaming computer, while at the left was a study table that had the picture of all his bikes till date along with his boxing championship belts and medals.

The balcony was the most fascinating, it had a piano, white and silver and it looked absolutely Jadish.

"Are you done?" He asked removing his jacket.

"Done what?" I questioned back walking towards the balcony.

"Having a look at your future with me." He smirked reminding me of the same stupid misery again. "You can move in whenever you want, just don't make it too long."

"Why are you in such a hurry?" I rolled my eyes. "We still have got no clue how did we end up married?"

"Yeah, that is not so much of a problem, after all, it was your fault." He dropped his upper body onto his bed snuggling into the bedsheets.

Unlocking the glass door of the balcony, I reached to touch the gorgeous piano, "Huh? My fault? I clearly remember it was you who handled the paperwork."

"Yes, I sure was. But you gave me the documents. You said, the pink envelope has the witnesses ID proofs, the white one is for the couple getting married." He rolled on to his right glancing at my face.

"I sure did." I stepped back into his room.

"I happened to mix the envelopes by mistake. So in the Pink one, I added Noah's picture while in the White one I added mine." He drew a pattern on his bedsheets with his fingers.

"In that case, you should be married to Miael?" I pouted.

"Yes, but Attorney Pascal swiped the envelopes as well." He straightened his back getting up from the bed.

"Even then, I and Noah should be married." I raised my brows getting anxious. "How is it you and me?"

"There's only one possibility for this." He smirked.

"What?" My hand reached out for his collar again.

"That you intentionally or unintentionally, swiped the envelopes in the first place, which means only then your name and my name can end up together in the same envelope and only then this tremendous mistake can happen." He lifted my chin, slowly pulling his collar out of my grip.

"Since when did you began to make so much sense in a single day? Plus, when we got to the registration office, we looked more like the Bride and groom than our siblings." I freaked out grabbing his collar again.

"Girl, you're just one inch away from my neck, stop freaking out." He cupped my face helping me face reality. Why wasn't he bothered like I was?

"How are you so calm?" I questioned as tears began to cloud up. "Aren't you supposed to be getting your angry young man mode on?"

"I'm Noah Martin's brother, of course, I know how to be calm." He poured a glass of water for me.

"But what now?" I repeated the question for the hundredth time.

"Nothing, let's face reality." He stretched the glass to me, I reached out to hold it but he pulled it back and gulped it down till the last drop. "But never ever depend or expect anything from each other."

My kind of relationship, I thought.
