27. There's still a piece that loved him.

Mimin

Walking along the trail of my house, I unlocked the door after a week of staying in the camp. My flight had just landed an hour back and I was finally home. Pulling my bags inside, I rushed to see Miael. It had been pretty long, 2 years were just not easy. I left my bags in the dining hall and ran upstairs. Taking a deep breath, I turned the knob of her room, "Miael!" I called.

"Miae-l-l..." my eyes just went in some other zone glaring at the scene going on in front of me. What the fuck?

"Oh my God! I'm so sorry!" I yelled rushing out on seeing her wrapped in Noah's arms more intimately than Bella and Edward in Twilight. How can they be progressing so fast?

The scene kept on running in my mind as I received a message from the Merchant Navy Company regarding my application.

"This is in respect to the application no. 172790, your job cannot be confirmed as you don't meet the eligibility criteria. We couldn't obtain the no-marriage certificate as the system shows you have been married for the past 2 years already." The floor beneath my feet melted into the mud as I began to drawn in my own fearful world. What the fuck?

My nerves slowly began to get softer after a few minutes of trying to read and re-read the text just to understand if there was any fault but I guess, fate had played its trump card in my game. I clicked on the dialer, found Attorney Pascal's number and with shivering hands phoned him. He was the Attorney who handled Mieal's and Noah's marriage, I knew he was the only one who could help me in this situation.

"Hello?" He answered.

"Hey, Attorney Pascal, Mimin this side." I breathed finally.

"Oh hi, Mrs. Martin!" He smiled from the other side.

What? No! No! No!

"Its Mimin Renaldi, Miss. Mimin Renaldi." I bit my lips in nervousness. I was confused about my own name right now.

"You got divorced? Why didn't you call me?" He asked in astonishment.

"No, I didn't get divorced?" I gulped in anxiousness, "Why would I get divorced?

"That only!" He sighed. "You and Mr. Martin were just a match made in heaven, it would have been such a waste of love if you got divorced?"

"Eh, I'm not married. What are you talking about?" I questioned getting furious.

"What are you talking about?" He repeated my question, "I was your attorney, I got you and Mr. Martin married. Remember I got Noah registered as the new shareholder of the Renaldi's 20% shares?"

My head swirled, heartbeat almost dropped to 0 while my throat soared as I held Riri's room's door for support. This is not happening. You've got to be kidding me.

"Mimin!" Miael rushed out of her room calling for me. My cell phone slipped from my hand in shock as I ran inside Riri's room hiding from her. I was not sure of the exact situation right now, yet I was pretty sure there was a chance my sister just slept with my legal husband.

"Mimin!" Riri called staring at me through her mirror. She turned around and rushed to hug me. I was still lost in figuring out what mess was I stuck in now when I heard Noah call Miael.

"I've got to go!" I told Riri parting from her and picking up her cell phone dialed Caleb's number, "Get me a gun!"

"Calm down Princess, we usually greet people with Hello or Good morning." He laughed before I hung up the call and ran out of Riri's room straightaway to the parking lot.

I hadn't met mum nor had I said hello to dad because my weirdly unbelievable thoughts had kept me occupied. I took a taxi and reached Linkton High. This damn place! It's all this stupid place's fault.

"I think this is yours." Noah appeared from nowhere giving me my cell phone right after I stepped out of the cab.

"Thanks," I replied turning to walk away.

"So, Attorney Pascal has been trying to reach you." He added.

Oh God! Does he know?

How can we be so stupid to not pick up their marriage certificate from the registrar's office? This blunder would have been solved years ago.

"Yeah, I have been contacting him for some legal documents. I'm applying for a new job so..." I replied without facing him. How can I face him anyway?

"Cool." He walked away. Well, even if Noah knew, it wouldn't bother him. He was the Noah Martin, there was nothing he could be bothered about.

I went to Caleb's office, collected my gun making sure he doesn't flirt with me and make me kill him first before I kill Jade Martin! That bastard had only one work! He couldn't even handle some ID proofs!

Taking furious steps I entered the Cafeteria to find Jade sitting on his knees, with the Martin engagement ring in one hand while his college bag in the other.

He matched my eyes as the rage in me grew wilder and I finally pointed the gun between his eyebrows.

"Any last wishes?" I asked. His face turned into a smirk before he saw Attorney Pascal's call flash on my phone screen.

"Shoot me, I would rather die than witness such a day." He almost smirked as I rolled the gun. The click voice alerted him I was serious.

"Wait!" Noah approached us, gazed at both our faces one by one and took the ring from Jade's hands, "Continue."

"Jade Martin! How could you!" I cursed hitting the trigger continuously shooting everywhere with almost closed eyes. I wanted to kill him but somehow that stupid heart held me back. How can you hate someone so much that when you try to kill them the only piece of your heart that might somewhere still hold feelings for him which are not hatred, begin to be rebellious?

Tears flooded my eyes, the pain turned my face red, anger cursed my hate while fate laughed at me. I threw the gun at Jade when I realized he had been hiding behind Noah all this while and none of the bullets hit him but the roof of the cafeteria. Jumping over the table kept beside me I ran out of the cafeteria through the windows and taking the route of the parking lot rushed towards the rooftop.

So far life had been just miraculously jealous of me. I couldn't figure out what the hell did this world want from me? What was destiny's plan for me? Was I  really never going to be able to touch the ocean again?

"Madam, are you still there?" Attorney Pascal questioned through the mobile phone.

I wiped the guilt falling from my eyes and answered him in the faintest voice, "You sure, there's no way?"

"Not that I know of." He replied.

I bit my lips, flipped my eyelashes a few time to avoid the water from falling down anymore and pressed the red button on the dialer. I couldn't handle him anymore.

I was sitting at the rooftop of Linkton High, escaping the world that had cast me aside. How could I face Miael now? How could I face Dad now? And most important of it, how could I face myself now?

"Crying is not a solution." The oceanic scented voice of Jade Martin also felt plain to my ears today.

I didn't look at him, rather kept on staring at my feet while my fingers continuously swiped right on my phone gallery.

"Do you really have to be this way?" He questioned raising his voice. "It's just a mistake. Nothing that I can't handle."

"Then come to me after you've handled it." I murmured ignoring his eyes.

"Mimin, you know even I'm stuck here." He sighed clutching his fist in anger. "You've got to trust me."

"I trusted you before," I looked up finally, "I trusted you even after what you did to my family," my voice thinned, "but this is not a mistake. I'm officially doomed." I declared showing him the mobile screen.

The screen that had the proof Attorney Pascal had sent me. And the proof that clearly stated how messed up my life was going to be. It was the screenshot of the page that said I'm not eligible for a no marriage certificate.

"But I don't get it. How could this happen?" He asked banging his fist on the wall beside him. The blood dripping down his knuckles couldn't make me feel a bit of pain for him, how could I still be in love with the man I hate the most who had actually taken away every single hope of me ever being with my ocean?

"Game of fate." I laughed faintly. "Also, there's no way out now."
