Pick your Poison

Awwww he's so T I N Y! His hair so floofyidbehvsvsvebsbwnamos-

"I would literally die for you."

Huh?

Tora and Kiki had arrived just a second ago, and Tora has been gushing for the past ten minutes about how small and petite Izuku is and how he looks smaller next to Alliko and blah blah blah we get it Tora, he's cute.

Izuku kinda just... oh um nothing... just turnedcompletelybrightredandcouldn'tstutteroutasinglecoherentword-

In short terms, he was embarrassed beyond embarrassed.

Alliko didn't seem to give a shit and didn't help him in the slightest.

Traitor... Izuku's mind grumbled, moving his body and turning to possibly punch someone in the nose. And that someone is named Alliko-

But I guess that isn't going to happen because Alli could and would totally beat my ass now that I think about it.

So, because Izuku has a brain, no one got punched. Sadly.

Tora broke Izuku's thoughts with a very interesting statement. "Actually, speaking of you two, Mota said he has a new exercise in store for you, Izuku! And Alliko is gonna help with it!"

Tora looked thoughtful, before putting a finger to her lip and shifting her weight to one foot, a little nervous it seems.

"Knowing my brother, this could either be really good or incomprehensible awful. Knowing him even further, it's probably gonna seem good. Until you actually try. Then you realize that you were sorely mistaken."

Okay. Sounds safe to me! I'm not worried at all! That seems... perfectly fine!

___~_\\_~___

Okay, this actually doesn't seem so bad!

It was quite a simple task, actually. Mota had gotten there only a few minutes after Tora and Kiki had.

"Welp, let's get started then! This'll be fun..." He had opened with. Reassuring, I know.

His gruff voice seemed a bit lighter, and he gave a smirk in Izuku's direction. "Today, I have a new challenge for you. Two, actually. Pick pocketing, and lock picking. Pick your poison, heh,"

Tora sighed at the pun. "No one thinks you're funny!"

"Shut up! I'm hilarious!" He defended, sulking a tad at Tora's claim. Izuku wrung his hands, poking Mota in the shoulder.

"I-if it means anything, Uh I-uhm, I thought it was kinda funny... g-good word play?" Izuku didn't even know what he was saying anymore, but he felt bad seeing the skyscraper of a man being so pouty.

Mota's eyes lit up, and he chuckled, smirking at Tora. Ah, siblings... not a rivalry in the world, not even that of the Satan and God, can compare to that of those who are kin.

If you didn't look close, Tora and Mota didn't seem related at all. Mota has black hair, and he's tall as a tree. Large, muscular build with a calm and hard expression. Tora has her hair dyed teal, and she is quite shorter, with a seemingly thin figure. Her expression is a lot softer, and maybe even smug. One wouldn't think they were siblings, much less twins.

But if you look at their eyes, it's obvious. The have the exact same, catlike, glowing yellow eyes. Vibrant and dangerous. But comforting to those they care for. That danger changes to protectiveness. They have the exact same eyes. It's uncanny.

But anyway, the challenge was up, and Izuku got to make a choice; lock picking, or pick pocketing. Pick pocketing sounded just a little bit easier, so he went with that.

"I-I think I'm gonna do pick pocketing first... it sounds e-easier to m-me... let's do it!"

Yeah... this'll go great, I'm sure of it!

Okay what kind of fresh hell is this

Izuku has many, many regrets. But this? This takes the top place. God, he was wrong. He was so, so wrong... "doesn't seem that bad" his ass! This was terrible!

The challenge seems simple at first. Alliko will stand on the mats, walking back and forth across them as if he were walking down a street, and Izuku was to try and take his wallet. If Alliko notices, he reacts as any passerby on the street would. To make it easier on Izuku, Alliko can't see. There is noise playing as well, to simulate a busy street and mildly block another sense; hearing. Basically, Izuku is currently on easy mode.

This is not easy.

"AH!"

Izuku cried out in pain as his back slammed into the mats. Okay, so Izuku is pretty sure Alliko has no idea how normal people react to a pickpocket attempt. Alliko would fucking twist Izuku's arm back, and flip him over his back onto the mat. Mind you, Alliko can't see. He's doing this bullshit blind and Izuku isn't about that life. Not at all. Fuck that.

Izuku was sure he had gotten the wallet ALEAST twice! Perfectly quiet and everything, and Alliko STILL gets him!

"This isn't fair! Im pretty sure Alliko is a super human, and I am a small string bean! I'm gonna have back pain by time I'm 15, and that is not old enough to have back pain!"

You know Izuku's done with shit when he doesn't stutter.

Alliko laughs, laughs at Izuku's utter pain. What a cruel mistress friendship is. Are they friends? Izuku doesn't want to just ASSUME anything, but... ya know, he's say they're friends. But does Alliko think of him as a friend? Oh god, what if he hates him? What if Alliko is just being nice to Izuku out of pity?! Oh god what if he thinks I'm annoying and I'm just wasting their time-

"Izu, you're mumbling. And chill, you aren't annoying. Not sure what thoughts led up to that, but geez. Chill, buddy."

Okay, Alliko called him buddy, that means friendship, right? And he said Izuku isn't annoying! Izuku is just gonna assume that means he's fine, for the sake of his mental health and anxiety...

Anywho, this is fucking unfair. Izuku isn't a super human! He's just a string bean who wants to make a difference!

"Why do I even need to know how to pickpocket?! It's not like I'm gonna be robbing innocents on the street!" Kiki had left to her workshop awhile ago, so it was just Mota and Tora left to watch him suffer at Alliko's hands.

Tora grinned at him, wagging her finger in a manner that felt slightly condescending to Izuku. "Oh course not! But-! You might need to take something from an enemy, in a setting where they are unaware of who you are. In which case, you can't risk exposing yourself and using force. And even if you are in costume, you still may need such a skill!

"We're working you from easy mode up. And the harsh reaction is necessary as a way of motivation! So it's on easy mode, but if you don't succeed, it's not an easy punishment.

" We're starting quite easy so you can learn the hand work, and then you learn to be more and more careful. Then, we'll do some casual setting pickpocketing. You're close to the person and seem to be showing them something, so you're in close parameters and have a longer take time.

"Some of the best pickpockets can take whole articles of clothing, like scarves, jackets and even watches from people without a second of suspicion. With the reward system we have set up, it'll probably only take you a week. But you're a fast learner, so I'm gonna bet that will be shortened," Tora finished. Or, at least, Izuk thought she was finished.

"How about this; obviously, every time you fail you get slammed down. But! If you succeed, you get part of the money in Alliko's wallet! You stole it, it's yours now!"

Oh yes.

"No! There is no way I'm letting that happen! I didn't agree to this! No, no, no! Tora, you can't just promise him that, I didn't agree to this!" Alliko was flabbergasted, ripping off his blindfold to glare at Tora.

Izuku smirked at Alliko, throwing an arm around his shoulder, despite the drastic height difference. "What, worried you're gonna lose to me? Eh?"

Alliko turned red with momentary rage and exasperation. Izuku and Tora were challenging him... Mota hadn't said anything, but his expression also seemed smug.

Alliko huffed, crossing his arms. "Fine! And not at all, twerp! I wouldn't lose to a short stack like you!"

Izuku's smirk widened, and he put a hand out. At first glance the expression seemed like an innocent smile, but Alliko could clearly see the challenge in it. "So we have a deal, Alli?"

The taller teen smirked back, grabbing the hand and shaking. "Deal. If you can manage to snag my wallet, which won't happen by the way, then you can have it for the day."

Izuku jumped back, going over to grab Tora's hand. Something was up...

"Good, because while you were being all pissy, I already won!" Izuku pulled his left hand out from behind his back, and there that mother fucker was.

He fucking did it.

There, in Izuku's freckles, pale hand, was Alliko's mother fucking wallet.

"H-how did you-?"

"Distraction. You were too angry at Tora's challenge to notice you let your guard slip. Welp, you agreed, so now it's mine!" Izuku seemed far more confident, letting his shy personality be over shadowed by the need to be a drama queen. The theatre of it overthrows his social anxiety, and boy was it fun to have these moments.

Tora laughed, full of amusement and pride. "That's how it's done! Good job, Izzy! Sorry Alliko, but better luck next time. Me and Izuku are gonna go out to eat, but don't worry; you'll get your wallet back later. But probably only the wallet."

Alliko sighed in defeat, sulking to himself. "Don't use too much... I have to pay student loans, ya know! College isn't too far away, and I'm gonna be an early graduate! I'm gonna need that, even if I have a scholarship!"

Tora just laughed, throwing a peace sign over her shoulder as she picked up her and Izuku's bags, an arm around the smaller boy's shoulder, and leaving. But not before convincing Kiki to go with them as well, pulling the lilac-haired girl form her workshop.

Great, now three people are gonna spend my money.

Welp, looks like it's guys night. The lady's can have their night out, Mota and Alliko are just gonna chill and-

Where did Mota go?

---

Izuku, Tora, and Kiki found a good restaurant and got a table. It wasn't quite lunch time just yet, but it was close enough. That just means there aren't many customers which means getting a good table! And probably fast service!

It was a small place on their side of town that opened recently. It's become quite popular amongst teens as a hang out spot, the food having cheaper options but still being really good.

They grabbed one of the workers attention, going to find a place they could sit. While they were walking, Tora complimented Izuku on his most recent work. "Great job with today's exercise, Izuku! That was perfect!"

Izuku gave a sheepish grin, rubbing his neck. "It was mostly luck... ya know, right time right conversation. But thank you, Tora! I feel a little bad for Alli though..." The last of his statement was shrugged off.

They found a booth with the worker and all sat down, Kiki and Tora sitting next to each other, Izuku on the other side.

They all took a minute to look over the menu, giving the waitress that came over to them their drinks order and what they wanted to eat. She left with a nod, and that was when Tora decided to open her big mouth and ask questions Izuku did not want to answer.

"So, Izuku," geez can't I just get one break? "You said you wanted to go to UA, right? You have smarts, so I don't think you'll have an issue getting in, whatever course it is you choose. But if you happen not to get in, though I doubt it, hey, maybe you can go where Alliko is going! He's getting an early graduation. He's gonna be in college next year, and he's so young! My baby cous, growing up so fast!"

Izuku giggles at Tora's behavior, but then remembers why he was nervous before.
Oh god, what kinda vigilante goes to a HERO school? Jesus...

Welp, might as well get this shit over with.

"I... I uhm.. I want to go... even if it's kinda stupid for a quirkless, uhm, vigilante, to want to go to a hero school! Eheh..." Izuku was sure to keep his voice very low at that one part just in case. It never hurts to be careful!

Tora gave him a grin, leaning back in her seat as she saw the waitress bringing over their drinks. "Well, I think it's a great idea! Plus, since Kiki is going, maybe you two can get into the same class! That would be so cool!"

The waitress set down their drinks, leaving with a quick acknowledgment of their thanks, claiming their food should be out soon.

Izuku rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly, turning a little pink. "Well, thanks Tora! Though I'm not sure I'm quite that smart... plus, I'm quirkless. Speaking of which, I still don't get why you chose me... even with the whole 'no power weakness thing. N-not that I-I'm questioning your j-j-judgement!"

Tora just laughed, reaching over to ruffle Izuku's curls. "Well, there was one other reason. As a quirkless, you can avoid most of the laws. Remember what we told you? You need to know what laws to bend, and what to break? Well, you were the perfect subject for that." Tora leaned back in her chair, crossing her arms with a smug look.

Izuku tilted his head, blinking blankly, and shooting a look to Kisha in an attempt to get an answer. The lilac girl just grinned at him, and shared a knowing look with Tora.

Tora and Kisha leaned in on the booth table, beckoning Izuku to join. The were all up close, and spoke in low tones as not to risk anyone else hearing. Tora smirked.

"Izuku, you don't have a quirk. You can't use a quirk when you don't have one. If you look at current laws today, you know what their main focus is? Quirks. No unlicensed quirk use. No quirk vigilantism. No quirk violence. Public quirk use. Quirk fighting. But that's where you come in!

"You can be a vigilante and be perfectly legal! Because you haven't broken a single one of those laws... when you're quirkless, those laws don't apply to you. You are living lawless. You haven't broke the rules. You just bent them." Izuku was already sparkly eyed, but they weren't done yet. Kisha leaned forward a bit more and put in her own 2-cents.

"If you were to ever get caught, however unlikely, the law wouldn't be able to do much. Your charges would be decreased substantially than if it were one of us. And no one can trace who you are, because you won't accidentally use a quirk and have the police analyze it to pinpoint who you are."

It was odd to hear Kisha without her usual stutter, but that was barely notable amongst Izuku's growing excitement.

Maybe he was perfect for the job.

"Wow... s-so I really am an advantage in some ways!" Izuku was practically bouncing in his seat, and they all leaned back as now the topic was safer to outside listeners.

Tora smiled, taking a sip from her drink as the waitress set down their meals. "Here ya go! A katsudon for your son, miso for your daughter, and omurice for you, ma'am!"

Izuku and Kiki turned bright red, and Torako laughed loud and boisterous. "Oh, they aren't my kids! She's my cousin, and the cutie-pie is my student. I'm flattered though, and I wouldn't mind having them as my kids," Tora said, ruffling Izuku and Kiki's hair, and giving them a fond smile. She could see why the waitress might think them her children. Izuku's green was similar to her teal hair, and Kiki has her face shape, and her lilac hair is a little more on the blue side, once again leaning towards Tora's teal hair. Plus the way Tora treats them is very motherly, one would say.

The waitress giggled, holding her tray to her apron. "Well, you've got a real cute student there~!" The waitress patted Izuku's shoulder, turning to leave with a curt, 'enjoy your meal!'

Izuku was a little pink, and felt his shoulder. There was a little lump of paper, and inside, clearly, was a phone number. Tora and Kiki gave him a look, and he turned bright red. "A-wah?!?! I-I've never had anyone give me their number before! It's flattering, but I don't think I'm interested... plus, even if I was, I'm too shy to make any sort of move. Oh, gosh, now I feel bad!" Izuku began muttering frantically, and Tora sighed in exasperation.

"That's another thing we need to work on. I want you to come in early tomorrow; you can finish your pick pocketing and stuff early, so we can get in some confidence exercises. You have to find your spine one of these days, kid! You have pretty much no pride in yourself, no self preservation, and obviously not an atom of confidence resides within that little body of yours. But don't worry! I've got just the plan!~"

Well that sounds a little suspicious.
