hey y'all! so I'm finally doing it. I'm finally rewriting this book. beat drop was my first klance fic (written in august 2017!!) so, of course, it's very near and dear to my heart. however, it's very outdated. for example, i feel like every day i get a comment that says "oMg wHy iS aCxA hIs MoM??" and i have to explain, "no, no, i wrote this before keith's canon mom was revealed". or people accusing me of erasing Shiro's sexuality even though his canon sexuality hadn't been revealed yet when i wrote this and we all thought that he and allura were Space Mom and Dad (also ive been writing gay fuckin fanfiction for the past like,, 4 years why on earth would i b homophobic like that lmfao)

also gentle reminder,,, i sometimes get comments saying stuff like "ooh this reminds me of dirty laundry" and "dirty laundry flashbacks" n shit and like,,, i haven't even read dirty laundry tf (tbh i don't read much fanfic at all- usually only my mutuals' works) is it bc they're both realistic fiction klance fanfics? or like,,, idk?? if beat drop has any connection to dirty laundry then it's completely incidental and tbh those comments are a little off-putting bc i worked so hard to make this fic original and unique yknow,,it's okay if you'd made comments like those before i just want y'all to know where i'm coming from <333 (ily endlessly)

hhhhhh it's just been a whole ass ride and i wanna fix the flaws in it now that voltron's finished :(( uhhHH yeah but there are definitely gonna be some big changes from the og beat drop to match canon. we're talking fixes in those examples^^^ and hopefully, some new characters who were introduced later in the show, like romelle and hopefully our Favorite Gay Space Uncles, ulaz and thace (y'all know how much i love them if you've read my other works lol). i don't know yet, we're really just gonna have to go with the flow. but yall are used to that with me hehe <33

if you guys want to give me suggestions on some changes you'd like to see, please lemme know! i'm serious- this is the only rewrite ur gettin' so if there's anything at all you'd like me to change about the original, pls tell me or else it'll probably stay the same lol. i write for you guys and i'm always up for new ideas and suggestions.

i can't wait for our inside jokes to re-emerge, like sir dab and mullet & weirdo and 5 reasons why,, i missed y'all sm you don't even know
