Accidental Friendship

The two were drawn together by destiny. By strength and determination. By the power of friendship.

Yes, some people would say he was a little aggressive towards her at first, but... as soon as he found out that she was actually Bea's twin sister, he immediately grew more friendly towards her. This is how it started.

Scarab was on his way to Stow-On-Side to get a piece of Charcoal for his mentor, Kabu. He already knew what to expect when he got to the small, dusty town, which was run by three kids, two of them the same age while one of them was younger. What he didn't know was that there WERE three kids, he thought there were only two, Bea and Allister. The third child, Faith, was a mystery to him until that day.

Faith was walking through Stow-On-Side, heading to the Pokemon Center after a battle. She was appointed to be the third Gym Leader of Stow-On-Side, along with her twin sister, Bea, and her younger brother, Allister. She was just passing by the street vendor, nodding and saying "hi" before she accidentally bumped into the young man who was walking up to the vendor.

"Watch it!" He snapped.

Faith's eyes widened in fear. "S-sorry..." she said in a shy tone. "I-I'm so sorry," she mumbled, avoiding eye contact.

"What's your problem?!" He said, angry. Suddenly, Faith's partner Pokemon, a Shiny Hawlucha, popped out of its Poke Ball, ready to attack. Faith looked at Hawlucha, her partially stoic gaze turned on the male Flying/Fighting Type.

"Stand down, Hawlucha," she said sternly.

The young man glared at her, then looked confused. "Wait a second... Bea? Is that you? You know what... Forget it. I'm challenging you to a Pokemon battle. Don't hold back!"

Faith looked at him, confused. "W-what?"

That's when the rest of her Poke Balls flared to life, releasing a team of Shiny Pokemon: Mew, Jirachi, Celebi, Alolan Vulpix, and Kubfu.

"Uh-" She gave an embarrassed laugh. "Sorry about my Pokemon... They tend to get excited if they aren't constantly battling."

She looked at him. "I- I'm not as good of a Trainer as my sister..."

Scarab was clearly confused. "Wait, what? You have a sister?!"

"My twin sister, Bea. You battled her before..."

Scarab's eyes widened in realization. "Bea has a twin? Huh... that explains it. Sorry for the confusion, my name's Scarab."

Faith looked up and gave a shy smile.

"But just because you're not Bea doesn't mean I don't want to battle you... it IS the best way that Trainers get to know each other."

"Yeah... I guess..." Faith said. "Oh... right. My name's Faith. I am the third Gym Leader of Stow-On-Side."

"Let's start the battle!"

"Right. Go, Hawlucha!"

The battle was super close- Faith's Kubfu knocked out Scarab's Centiskorch right before fainting from a burn that had been inflicted earlier in the battle.

Scarab looked excited after the battle. "That was amazing!!! How have we not battled before?!"

Faith sighed as she explained to him why she was here, that it was because her sister had gotten badly injured and needed help running the Gym. She also told him about how Bea had gotten injured, during her Wild Area training.

"I see. Makes sense now... I think I heard about something like that happening a while ago, explains this "Kubfu" Pokémon I've never heard of before. That sounds like an exciting backstory-"

They were interrupted by a woman's scream.

"Uh-" Faith ran towards the commotion.

"A-are you okay?!" Faith cried out.

"Do I look okay?! These thieves just stole my Pokémon!!!" The woman said in a frustrated tone.

A group of Team Rainbow Rocket Grunts were standing there with the woman's Poké Ball, smirks present on their faces.

"Give that lady back her Pokémon!!" Faith said angrily.

"How 'bout... no?"

"Ugh!!" Faith growled in frustration.

An older looking man stepped out from an alleyway.

"You guys leave. I'll deal with these two kids myself."
