Reveal who they are little by little.
Give them an habit just like us.

To those who have read my book. Suzy has this habit that everyone knows her with. She can eat the whole world if it contains food only. That is how much she likes food. You need to show that your main character is not perfect. You need to give your character the good and the bad one. As much as Suzy can eat, she's too brilliant, and I admire her for that.

So what am I saying?
People wants to relate with your book. Don't rush it. Don't be in a hurry. It took me up to a year to complete 'My days at Crown school'. Wondering why so long?

The truth is, I completed the book in just three days in my note. But each time I go back to it, something new pops up. And I kept on adding, and adding.

There so many habits you can give to your characters.
Diana can be the one that can't do without singing, hoping to become a star one day.
Caro on the other side, can dance to anything. Even on the road, she can't control it when she hears music.

And just like Ambrose in 'Storm and Silence'. I've never met someone as stingy as that man. That is the secret guys.
You need to show us that your characters are not perfect.
Build up their relationship together.
