Circle Takes the Square

Everyone in the room stared at Wilford as if he were crazy. Which in reality, they weren't THAT far off.

Anti was the first to snap out of it, "What!? Cut him some S̸L̷A̵C̴K̸!̵?̸ ̵N̸o̴t̴  ̴a̷l̴l̶ ̸ h̸i̴s̷  ̴F̴A̶U̷L̷T̸!̵?̵"̶

"That's what I said" Wilford looked annoyed to be repeating himself.

"Why are you here, Wilford?" Sean asked the Iplier ego as he looked around in the space he was in curiously.

"Hm. I've never been to the Septic house before" he mumbled a little out of it, "Dark's in trouble"

"Okay. So?" Chase didn't care one bit. The bastard tried to kill his kids!

"So~!" Wilford grinned, "I need your guy's help!"

"If you really think we're going to just help you after discovering that that son of a bitch actually INTENDED on killing the kids that day, you're wrong!" Jackie scoffed, "Get out of here! Whatever trouble Dark's in, he can get out of it himself!"

"Wrongo" Wilford actually glared at the hero this time, "I'm afraid Dark might be a tad incapacitated at this time. Something else took over, I'm sure"

Anti stood up from his chair, "How do you mean? Who took over?"

"I don't know" Wil shrugged, "But whoever the man is in Dark's skin, is NOT Dark! Dark doesn't kill. Dark isn't a bad person. He's just . . . . . "

Anti swallowed and spoke, "W̸a̴r̷f̸s̸t̷a̵c̵h̷e̴. . . . .what's happened?"

Wil actually looked perplexed, "I'm worried. I overheard him the other day talking strangely to himself. He was almost talking to himself in the third person except it was more like something else was talking to Dark."

"So maybe something's possessed him?" Anti suggested.

"Anti, why are you wasting your time hearing this guy out?" Jackie growled, "He helped Dark get you into trouble! Did you forget!?"

"̵N̸o̷"̶ he gave a simple response, "But something does feel off to me. Like I said before. I can't explain it. Hey, pinky"

"Yes~?", Wilford looked him in the eyes. Although he seemed aloof and strange, he wasn't stupid. He could still give them answers.

"You said he's after Mark. Right now?"

"That's what I said!" he clapped his hands.

That suddenly clicked for Sean, "Why didn't you lead with that!? Marvin! Can you teleport us there!?"

"Can do. Buckle up!"

Meanwhile 'Dark' was in Mark's home. Undetected. Unnoticed.

It as pretty scary, really. She was super quite as to avoid detection from the dogs. Although she knew now they wouldn't attack him. They'd be too confused at first at seeing Mark's doppelganger.

Dark Celine grinned as she heard Mark's voice in his recording room. She hid in the closet behind him, having teleported in the house. It used quite a bit of energy to do so but she took it from Dark.

Speaking of him, she had grown quite irritated with the man. AND Damien. Of course that soft, pathetic weakling would steal Dark away at the moment she needed the most concentration. And he had told Dark everything! It annoyed her but it wasn't as if it couldn't be fixed.

While waiting for Mark to appear, she sent Dark away into a pocket dimension. An empty loop where she could continuously use him as a battery without him trying to stop or fight against her.

'This will happen. Today, it all ends'

As Mark started his intro, Dark Celine slowly opened the door, being careful so he wouldn't notice 'her' yet. He was playing a game, trying to concentrate on it.

She crept up to him stealthily until she was only a couple feet away standing over him.

Mark HAD been feeling his hairs stand on end but at first he merely thought that was because he was playing a scary game. He suddenly realized he was wrong when he saw the 'man' behind him, image being reflected off the monitor. He didn't make any sudden movements to alert him that he knew he was there but Mark wanted to run so badly.

The person behind him wore a suit and there was only one person it could be.

Mark took a deep breathe and stopped his recording before acknowledging his presence, "Dark. I never thought you'd actually break into my house like this." he swallowed, uncomfortable, "It's a bit forward for you, don't you think?"

The 'man' behind him chuckled lowly, "Poor Mark. You really know nothing of Dark, do you?"

Mark slowly turned in his chair and stood up and Dark Celine let him. Mark took this chance to recognize that 'Dark' had red eyes at the moment. Strange. If anything, Dark always had black eyes or brown iris's like his.

"Dark . . . I know you've been feeling angrier lately. If this is because of me visiting the other egos that day, I'm sorry but-"

"You think I care about that?"

Mark halted his thoughts, "Um . . .yes? Wilford said you were upset because of it."

Dark Celine just giggled. Mark knew right then that something was VERY wrong. Dark never giggled.

"Who are you? You're not Dark."

"Oh" Dark's face looked hurt, "You don't know? And here I thought you were supposed to know everything, Actor. Dearly beloved" she mocked.

Mark wasn't stupid. He could put two and two together, "C-celine? What the hell? You can take over Dark? What have you done to Dark, then?"

"He's incapacitated at the moment. Don't worry about it." she grinned, teeth showing in her glee, "Doesn't matter anyways. I've waited for this moment for so long. I've been so patient!"

"Celine" Mark tried to back up but remembered that his recording desk was behind him, "Celine, listen to me, you have it all wrong. I'm not Actor. I know you were mad at him but it's all okay no-"

He was suddenly slapped across the face and Dark Celine growled hatefully, "Enough of your pathetic manipulations. I've come this far. I've planned so much to get here. I've hurt so many. . . . It's time for you to die, Mark. . . .. And then . . .I'll finally be free"

Dark Celine raised their hand, a red aura around it. She was about to strike. . . .

Until a coffee mug hit them directly in the face, "Ah! What the fuck!? Stupid human body!"

Dark Celine looked over to see Amy at the door. Unfortunately, she didn't have another mug and was left defenseless.

"You thought that'd stop me? Hoped it'd knock me out, sweetheart?" the red aura gathered around her like a mist of blood but while this was happening, Mark ran over to Amy as if to protect her.

"Hey, now, NO! You can hurt me or kill me but don't you DARE fucking touch her!"

Dark Celine just chuckled, "You think I care about what you want!? I'll kill the both of you!"

She went to lunge her attack only to suddenly be slammed into the wall, denting it with a stunned grunt.

Mark and Amy didn't notice Marvin suddenly appear from a portal with the other Septic egos and Sean popping out of it. What surprised Mark the most, however, was Wilford coming out of it!

"W-wilford!?"

Wilford crossed his arms and merely stood between him and 'Dark' as a sort of defense. He didn't really fight but he would if it came down to it. First thing's first, though, was they needed to get the real Dark back.

Sean rushed over by Mark and Amy to check and see if they were okay and let his egos take the stance in defending them.

Anti in front of 'Dark' who just managed to pry themselves out of the wall.

"Pathetic creatures the lot of you" she spouted, "I should have killed you when I had the chance in the void"

Anti raised his brow, confused, but before he could demand what he meant, Mark cleared the air.

"It's not Dark! It's Celine! She took control of him. . . .  she thinks I'm Actor."

"Actor?" Sean asked, "But he's-"

"ENOUGH!" Dark Celine unleashed the red aura to lash out on all of them but Anti was quick to counter it with his static and green lightening that zapped out of him. He then glitched up to the impostor and slammed them back into the wall, "What have you done with Dark!?"

"Anti" Jackie warned him, "Be careful."

The other Septic egos stayed still, watching as Anti seemed as if he had the upper hand against his enemy.

Dark Celine wasn't perturbed by Anti's attack or question and slowly smiled, "Why do you care? He used you all your life. Don't you remember? Why bother trying to help him?"

"̶Y̴o̶u̸'̵r̷e̷ ̴r̴i̵g̶h̴t̵.̵"̷ Anti suddenly pulled a knife from his pants and held it up to 'Dark's' throat, "He did use me for his own gain but then again, how can I really be sure now that it wasn't Y̴O̶U̸R̶ ̸gain?"

"I've only possessed his body twice including now. . . . the rest was all him, love. I bet you could guess when the other time was, couldn't you?" she smirked devilishly and gripped Anti's knife, smoothly over-powering him.

Anti tried to push her back but Dark's body and her power were stronger at the moment, "Poor Anti. Always trying to be something you're not. Always being left behind"

Ant's eyes widened at the words but Dark Celine continued, "So naive and stupid. You should have stayed at Dark's side. Then I wouldn't have to do this. Poor Antisepticeye." she came closer to his ear, "I told you I would try harder next time."

Before Anti could rebuttal, Dark Celine pushed him roughly, causing him to fall to his back with a grunt.

When he blinked open his eyes, there was only darkness. He could hear the echo of his fellow ego brethren shouting for him but as soon as the echo was there, it was suddenly gone. It now only left that soft high pitched ring.

Anti grit his teeth. He had hoped he wouldn't have to return here but it seemed as if it were wishful thinking.

He was about to glitch back out through Mark's computer to fight 'Dark' again  . . . . .  only to find that he couldn't.

'Wait, what?' he started to panic immediately, "̸N̶o̶. . . . .no way. He. . .she couldn't have. That's i̸m̵p̵o̴s̵s̶i̷b̵l̴e̵!̵"̶

He tried again.

Nothing.

Little sparks flung off of him but it was no use.

He tried again and again but still nothing happened. He could still glow and glitch but for some odd reason. . . .he couldn't escape.

"̷F̴u̴c̶k̸!̸"̵ he snapped and started to hyperventilate and gripped his head, "Fuck no! Son of a-"

He glitched back and forth in a tandem of madness, fear gripping his heart as memories started to flood in his head. And he couldn't even control it anymore.

Anti hoped to whatever god there was that Marvin was able to fend off 'Dark'.

'Get me out of here. Please fooking . . . . don't just leave me in here again. Help'

"̶H̵E̵L̷P̸ ̶ M̸E̶!̷!̴"̸ He was starting to lose his mind faster than he thought he would if he had ever been trapped there again but he really couldn't help it.

This was the third time being trapped in the void.

The third time he was betrayed.

Right? Was it even really betrayal with this one? He didn't know anymore.

He swore already he was hearing voices.

"You're a fucking monster! Stay away!"

"I don't understand why Sean doesn't just get rid of you."

"You're nothing but a virus. Stay from me AND my family!"

"He can't be trusted. He's a killer"

"Have all of you forgotten!? He tried to kill all of us!"

"He hasn't changed and he NEVER will!"

"It's all so sad, isn't it?"

The new voice snapped him out of the screaming voices in his head. That voice. . . . he didn't recognize it.

"AND CIRCLE TAKES THE SQUARE! Took you a while, but you made it" the condescending voice echoed out.

'The fuck?' Anti slowly stood up. He looked around cautiously.

He could still hear the other voices but they were drowning out by this other one.

"But that's all in the past. What matters now is moving forward"

Anti moved towards where he thought the voice was coming from. The further he walked, the louder and more jumbled the dialogue got.

"This place is a dream! A never-ending starring role as the hero!"

"But what is a hero without a villain"

Suddenly there were screams surrounding Anti. Painful and agonizing all around. For a moment, he couldn't tell if he were screaming WITH them or not.

Then they stopped as soon as they started. So quickly. So messed up.

The dialogue started again.

"You were never good enough for her!" a different voice than before shouted.

"I GAVE UP EVERYTHING FOR HER!"

The sound of laughter then echoed about.

"It's time to wake up"

Anti flinched as images started forming around him. Men he didn't know arguing. A woman appearing and throwing an axe at someone.

But there was something familiar about the man left 'alive'. Something calming and almost innocent.

The man and the woman argued for a bit until suddenly Anti was thrust into a wave of water. It was like a dam had been broken but he could still breathe and he was just along for the ride.

He blinked and in an instant, he was in front of that cabin he had seen before when he was getting both him and Henrik out of the void.

Except now it was spring. The door to the cabin opened slowly to reveal a man in a suit.

He recognized that man.

"Dark?" he didn't know why but Anti's spirits lifted and he shouted for him, "̵D̸A̶R̵K̵!̶!̸"̴

Quickly, however, the scene changed once more. He felt as if he were still in the same area but . . . perhaps a different time?

It was cold. He could barely see anything besides snow. NOW it was like the last time he was here.

But the cabin was nowhere in sight this time. Anti looked under him to see he was on ice. All around him was ice as if he were on top of a frozen lake or pond.

'The fuck is happening? Why am I seeing this?! I thought the void was supposed to project MY memories?'

He could hear voices again.

"Focus. You know why you're here. He doesn't trust you to be on your own around him without everyone else around. He barely trusts you around the others. Their happiness right now is a weakness, anyways. You should just kill Mark now."

'I can't do that and you know that. Too many people around'

"Fine but stop letting yourself slip. If you can't kill him today, then you could at least hurt him."

'That's Dark's voice. . . .and a woman's. . . .must be that Celine bitch' Anti put it together as they continued to speak.

"If you keep that up, your face will freeze that way"

Anti suddenly flinched both from the biting cold and the words.

'The party. This memory is from the party.'

"He's weak, too."

'They're kids!They don't cause any harm.'

Anti could see in their minds and he lurched as he saw the kid's dead bodies laying lifeless on the ground with Mark crying at the horrific sight.

No, I can't do that. That's going too far'

"In the hunt for vengeance, nothing is 'going too far', Dark. If you want to destroy Mark, you'll have to learn this. You can't kill him today, that's fine. But you can hurt him. Hurt him, Dark."

'I don't know. They're just kids. They've done nothing wrong.'

"And you didn't do anything wrong, either. You don't deserve what's been brought upon you, Dark. Don't you want to feel? Don't you be happy and angry and sad? Don't you want to feel without running the risk of hurting anyone?"

.

.

.

"If you want. . . . I could take over for it."

It all suddenly made sense to Anti.

At the party, the look in Dark's eyes after the incident happened. . . .it really wasn't him!

The memory ended only to switch back and forth to other moments Anti wasn't there for. These were Dark's worst memories. But it still didn't explain how Anti was seeing them. How he was there.

Surely Celine didn't intend to send him here?

Then Anti saw something in the distance. A figure on his knees. The whirling snow surrounded him , keeping him trapped. He looked like he couldn't move. He just looked like his arms were hung and his head was tilted back.

'Dark?' Anti's stomach lurched again at the sight.

He tried to run to get to him but before he could get any closer, he was suddenly shot backwards.

The next thing he knew, he opened his eyes to see he was back in Mark's office.

Chase sat on his knees over him, holding him to him with tears in his eyes but he smiled, "Anti! You're back!"

Jackie was right next to them, "Talk to us, man, you alright?!"

Henrik leaned over to gently push Jackie away, "You vere only in there for a short amount of time. A few minutes here. Perhaps an hour there? You feeling alright?"

Anti couldn't speak right away. He sat up and saw Dark's body laying on the floor. 'He' appeared to be knocked out.

Looking around the room, Anti then noticed Marvin standing over the Iplier ego with Wilford. Marvin was holding his shoulder, bleeding slightly from a hit he must have taken.

Jameson was looking back and forth anxiously between the two parties, not really sure about what to do. Mark and Amy were holding each other by the door and Anti only just then realized Sean sitting behind him.

But none of that was his concern at the moment.

Anti just stared at Dark's limp body, "̸D̵a̷r̷k̸ ̴.̴ ̸.̷ ̶.̵ . . He's in trouble . . . .  we gotta save him"

No one could say a word to Anti's sudden statement. Even Wilford looked shocked at the glitch's new opinion.
