Anika went to her closet and after taking a dress, she came back and said while showing him that dress, “And finally our date night came, this dress, he bought for me for wearing on the date. Seeing his gesture, at first I became nervous as the doubt raised in my heart that what if he proposed me then what should I do, would I accept this or not then I discussed this thing with my best friend, Ruhani and she told me, I should just listen to my heart if its ready to accept him or not. If yes then say yes but if not then Akhil wouldn’t feel bad as he would understand me that its not easy for me and I need some time but after reaching on a date and seeing his surprises, his actions, they all made me so overwhelmed that my all doubts erased in just that moment. That was the most wonderful and unforgettable night of my life..”

Anika reached the place, stepped out from the car and Akhil’s driver told her the way to go. She moved forward and when reached near the entrance, looking the view, her mouth hung opened. The pathway was beautifully decorated with the white flowers at the floor and the sideways were adoring with the scented candles.

She moved ahead while crossing the pathway as her heartbeat increased due to the anxiety but she heaved a sigh before going ahead. After crossing the pathway, her steps halted as she saw the most mesmerizing view in front of her. It looked like a private beach to her because she didn’t find any single person there.

She was standing at the stairs and while looking at the view, her heart fluttered. The arrangement was simple yet exquisite to her eyes. A heart shape was made by the golden lamps and in between the sitting arrangements were done.

Anika stood there for a while, admiring the view then suddenly her eyes landed on the back of the arrangements where he was standing wearing white t-shirt with dark blue jeans and on above, he chose the dark grey color blazer which was matching with her dress.

On the other side, Akhil too looked the beauty which was standing in front of him. He was totally spell bounded after looking at her. She was wearing a same dark grey color dress which he had chosen for her. The dress was simple without any embriodry or work just some glitters were shining on the half sleeves. The tulle fabric was enough to put the shine on the dress.

Akhil came forward without breaking the eye contact with her. He stood in front of her and ask her hand. She put her hand on his and he gave a slight kiss on the knuckles still looking at her which made her shy all of a sudden.

“You are looking very gorgeous in this outfit more than my imagination” He complimented and she felt her cheeks started burning.

She ignored that feeling and said with a smile, “Thank you for this lovely dress”

By holding her hand, he took her to the sitting area. He pulled the chair like a gentleman and made her sit on it then went to other side for sitting in front of her.

They both sat there in a silence as Anika was observing the surroundings. The silent environment with slow blowing wind and the wavy sounds of ocean giving her the different serenity whereas, Anika’s smiling and satisfaction face was giving the immense calmness to Akhil’s heart.

He put his hands on the table and asked while breaking the silence, “Did you like this?”

She looked his side and said with smile, “I love this type of tranquility. Thank you for bringing me here but why only we are here?”

Akhil looked her and said, “Because this property is owned by me and Abhigyaan, we both came here when we both wanted to share something with each other and wanted to rush from the chaos of the outer world. We both liked this so one day we both bought this property” Then shrugged at the last.

Anika nodded and meantime, a waiter came with the food and some drinks. Anika looked him with confusion as she didn’t see anyone here before then from where this waiter had arrived, she thought.

Akhil looked her face and said, “Don’t think too much, I know what are you thinking.”

Anika looked him with narrowed eyes and he said, “Look at your back, you will find the answer of your question.”

Anika looked at the back, there was a small tent which was illuminating with some lights, but it was far away from their sitting arrangements so she didn’t notice this before. She looked him with smile and then the table where the Italian dishes were placed.

Anika looked him with surprised and asked, “How do you know, I like Italian?”

“Ruhani..” That was the only reply, he gave and she nodded.

They both had their dinner with small chit chatting. After finishing the dinner, she complimented, “Food was delicious specially that white sauce pasta… it was amazing, I loved it.”

Akhil smiled and said, “Thank you, I am glad that you liked it and now I am more confident that whatever is coming next, you will also like it and enjoy it wholeheartedly.”

Anika became confused yet nervous with his statement as she was little suspicious regarding what was coming next but still didn’t want to think in that way. She masked her nervous expressions and asked, “I am not getting your point, I mean what else is left?”

Akhil stood from his chair and walked to her side. With his every step, her heartbeat picked its pace too. He kneel down to her level and took her hand while saying, “Relax, as I said, you will enjoy it whatever surprise I have stored for you because as you already know the night is not over yet, we still have some time to spend and lot more to say to each other and I hope you are not feeling uncomfortable with the scenario.”

She shook her head as denial with a smile and he kissed her hand one more time while looking into her eyes, she blushed a little and looked down. He stood and left her alone there for a while to prepare her second surprise.

Anika was waiting for Akhil, sitting on her chair. Her heart was beating very fast due to some unknown reasons. She wasn’t feeling peace from inside as still she was afraid from coming scenario. She was battling with her mind and heart thoughts. Her mind was refraining her to go further in this relationship but her heart wanted her to take a chance and trusted on both of them.

The past few days, which she spent with him, his care, concern, loyalty and honesty regarding both of them were all genuine as she witnessed all these in his eyes. Anika knew Akhil too had some insecurities inside his heart as she had seen him in anger, sometimes he lost his cool but then calmed himself too as if he was afraid if he would become more aggressive then he would mess up everything which he didn’t want. She wanted to help him to come out from his own insecurities. She too knew, he affected her, his touches, those soft kisses and his sincere talks, even his flirting skills, everything had an affect on her.

She didn’t think about this one question before until Ruhani didn’t ask her, “Do you love him, Ani?” She once was taken aback by her this question as she never thought about it but since this question raised, she had been lost in her thoughts regarding this and so many times asked this question to herself too, “Do I love him?” She still was in her thoughts when heard Akhil’s voice.

Akhil came there with a boom box. He put it on the floor and came to her. He saw her lost in somewhere and thought might be she was thinking about her surprise oblivion about the real reason of her thinking.

He looked her with smile and spoke, “Anu..”

Anika looked his smiling face. He again kneel down to her level and held her hands then continued, “I wanted to say something to you for a long time but didn’t want to rush the things because I know, how hard its for a girl to trust on some stranger that’s why I chose to be your friend first but later when we progressed in our friendship and I observed how my presence affects you, when there were some close moments between us, I thought to progress more oblivion to the real reason of your hesitation and when you disclosed your insecurities, your fear of heartbreak to me, I was speechless on that time and really thought, I lost you but still you chose to trust me and our relationship so, later I decided not to delay more because now I never want to loose you.”

He took a small pause and heaved then said, “I want to convey my feelings to you. I know every girl dreams of this day when someone proposes her in a dreamy way and I too wanted to do something special for you. I know, I cant sing, neither I will make you bore with my dangerous voice…”

They both chuckled and he continued, “So here I am playing a song for you. Through this song, I am conveying my feelings to you and I hope you will understand my emotions. This is the first time that I am truly opening my heart in front of a girl. I hope you enjoy this and like it.”

With this, he left her hand and went near the system. Anika didn’t know how she should react with all these as she still was registering his every word in her mind. She still was thinking while looking down as lot of emotions were rushing inside her.

Her thoughts broke when she heard her favorite songs music. She always had a dream about this particular song where someone was actually proposing her by playing or singing her favorite song which was from the movie “Race” and the song was “Pehli nazar mein” and now it seemed like destiny was playing with her as her one dream was going to come true in reality specially in front of her eyes.

He was expressing his feelings with the song while synching his lips and grinning with the actions and during that “I love you” that came between the song, he expressed it while making a heart and pointing to her. Anika became stunned to see his expressiveness and for the time being, it felt like she forgot about her surroundings.

At last, he held her hand and took her to one place. His steps halted when the song ended. For the moment, they both lost in each other like nothing existed for the moment. No sound, no chaos, nothing was there except the cold wind and the wavy sounds of the ocean but still it looked like, they both were not able to listen those serene sounds too because for them only their heartbeats were hearing and their eyes were talking.

Anika broke the eye contact when some lights flashed. She blinked her eyes and saw the view, her eyes widened seeing the unexpected scenario in front of her. Akhil took her to another arranged place which were switched off before according to his plan and when he reached there with her, it switched on.

That area was beautifully decorated with some golden lights under a small tent. The dots were shadowing on the white floor which was coming from the upper part of the tent and at the side, a “Love” banner was illuminating with bright lights making the area more romantic.

Anika roamed her eyes around while turning to the sides with astonishment and when she was about to say to him, she saw he was already kneeling down in front of her while spreading his arms. A smile was adoring on his nervous face but shine didn’t leave his eyes.

Anika’s eyes went wider like it would come out in any moment. She really didn’t expect the things would have turned out like this. She just thought, he might have done with just simple proposal but he was doing beyond her imaginations. First expressed his feelings through her favorite song, then this surprise and now the another part of his proposal.

He one more time held her hands and said while looking into her eyes, “I always thought, I couldn’t be serious with love relationship because neither I was attached with someone by heart nor someone captured it the way, it should be but when I first saw you in your office, my heart skipped its beat first time. First time, I was able to hear my heartbeats and after that every time our encounter was like tom and jerry but I loved that fight between us because if we were fought like tom and jerry then I thought we would be inseparable like them and, on that moment, I made sure to myself that only I will become your tom and make you my jerry.”

They both chuckled a bit at the last statement and he continued, “Slowly with that encounters, you tagged me with your cheesy monkey after noticing my cheesiness and I didn’t know when I started calling you my Chit chat. I know you talk a lot but I love to hear that naughty and unstoppable talks of yours because they are the real reason that make you my chit chat and now I really wanted to make us work together not alone like cheesy monkey or chit chat but together as cheesy chat…”

Anika’s eyes started brimming with the tears as he was confessing his true feelings with so much sincerity to her that at last she couldn’t control on her emotions and now it came out in the form of her tears.

He looked her face and again spoke, “I know, I am not a perfect man, Anu and I did mistakes in my life but now I want to be perfect for you, for us. I know you are not the first girl, whom I am going to date but I want you to be my last in this list because as per my knowledge, you are the only girl who can bear the real me. Neither I want to think about my past nor the future because whatever happened in the past it’s all gone away or what would come in the future, I cant predict it but yes one thing I know and sure is, I want to live in my present as far as you are here in it. I want to create my present memories with you so, in future I will cherish those moments only with you. My present lies in you because it is with you and I want my this present to be with me until you are here with me. Now I wanted to complete our name and make them one like I made it there.”

He pointed at her back and she turned with narrowed eyes and saw another awe moment. There was a tree at the back where a heart shape flex was hanging and their name initials were carved within that heart which was illuminating with the lights.

She looked it with the shine in her teary eyes. He left her hand and she turned around only to get the biggest shock of her life. He was sitting there on the floor still with the support of his one knee and a small box was holding in his hand. She put her hands on her mouth with full surprised. Tears were not stopping from her eyes before and now it was flowing but with her smiling face.

He looked her shocking face with his satisfaction smile as he knew the tears that was freely flowing from her eyes just because of these moments which he was giving her and for the first time, he was feeling happy with her those tears as he wanted to see the emotions on her face too.

He held the ring and said, “Like I have carved our initials in that heart which were freely illuminating there, I wanted to keep that names like this forever like our names into each other’s heart which should also shine in our hearts like this flex. I know this flex is temporary but for us it would be permanent.”

He looked the ring then her while saying, “This ring, its not our engagement ring, it’s a promise ring, a promise to be a better man for you, a promise to keep you safe and protected, a promise to be with you and to know you in better way, a promise to understand you with everything, a promise to flirt with you only and show you my cheesiness more and at last a promise to cherish you and love you with my heart.”

He finally heaved a long sigh and said, “Ms. Anika Mishra, can I get the honor to know this wonderful lady who seems strong from outside but so soft from inside, a lady who is so fierce like a lioness but still carries a calmness in her heart. I know, we became friends and carried our relationship ahead without any tag on us but now I wanted to give this a name, I wanted to show this world that the famous flirt guy can also truly love someone and to be loved by someone too so with all my this speech I am finally able to say you that, I Love you and I really do since when, I don’t know but now when I know so can I get the honor to call myself as your boyfriend officially? Will you be my girlfriend?”

Anika became speechless on his words. He had done a lot in these 15 minutes, the song, the arrangements and the confession, all were too much for her to grasp, tears were not stopping from her eyes. She didn’t know, why her emotions were overpowering her so much. Her cheesy monkey was asking her to be his girlfriend, officially. She was looking him without a blink, didn’t know what she should say, he had said a lot and opened his heart in front of her and for the first time, he made his chit chat out of the word.

Akhil looked her face which was still looking lost in his. He called her, “Anu..”

Anika blinked her eyes when heard his voice. He saw her and said, “Its ok Anu, I know I have said a lot and you were not expecting this sudden confession of mine. You can think about it and then give me your reply, I will wait for it.”

Anika again saw him but this time her eyes showed some another emotions. She looked him with admiration as that time his affection towards her won her heart over her mind and on that time, she asked one question to herself, “Can I get any better man than him in my entire life?”

“Not in this world, Anika..” Her heart immediately replied to her.

Before Akhil could say or brought his hand back in which he still was holding the ring, Anika held his hand. He looked up and his hopeful eyes met with her teary one. She firstly made him stand up on his feet and held his hand.

She looked him and said after taking a sigh, “You said right, I really didn’t expect you would have done so much for me. When I was coming here, I just was thinking it would be a normal date. I won’t deny but yes, I had a doubt that might be you would propose me but it would have turned out like this, I never thought. This type of proposal, I only imagined in my dreams even right now, Its looking like a dream to me and I am afraid what if I open my eyes and it all vanish? But I know, this is not a dream, its my reality which you have fulfilled by doing all these for me.”

Akhil was looking her with all his love even hearing those words, his eyes were becoming moist. She looked his eyes and said, “I wont lie to you that when I was coming here, I was debating with my mind and heart, about my feelings for you. I know, I like you a lot but still I wasn’t sure about my love for you but after hearing your feelings through my favorite song and then your confession, you made me a speechless person for the first time. I was like on cloud nine when you were saying all these to me and on that time, I was just considering myself the most luckiest girl in the whole world, when you asked me to be your girlfriend, when you said that you love me.”

She took a deep breathe and said while directly looking into his eyes, “And now, I know what I want and what my heart wants. I was never sure about my any decision before because I always have a fear for doing any mistake but tonight, I know, I will not be going to regret with anything when you will be with me. We both will walk on the path together where we can laugh together, fight together, cry together and love together.”

Like Akhil did, she too kneel down which shocked him more. He tried to make her stand but she stopped him and said, “Let me please, since I have come here, only you are doing and giving me surprises over surprises but now let me do this one thing for you...”

He didn’t say anything as his eyes filled with some content tears. They both looked each other’s eyes which filled with the unconditional love for each other and she said, “So with that, I am ready to take our friendship to another level and give our unnamed relationship a name. I know this wont be easy for us but I have a belief, if we will work together then we’ll surely find the solution for every problem and when we will be sure of our next journey then we’ll start the new chapter of our life but for now lets take a step towards this dreamy milestone.”

He chuckled a little and she spoke again, “Mr. Akhil Arora, I never thought, I will do this kind of thing for any man but you made me do this and I am glad that, you are the first man for whom, I am confessing my love in this way. Like you said, you don’t know when you fell for me, I too don’t know when this cheesy monkey’s cheesiness attracted me the most and I fell for you. With all my love, from my heart, I am finally expressing my feelings to you that I Love You… I too really do. Can I get the honor to wear your this promise ring in my finger which would be going to bound us together with a promise to love and cherish each other wholeheartedly.”

Hearing this confession, he too didn’t control on his emotions and first, made her stand and hugged her tightly. The tears of happiness to have each other were not stopping from their eyes for a second. She too hugged him and a loud sob escaped from her mouth. She was filling thrilled from inside. She cried before in her life but that was all in pain and heartbreak, she never cried this much due to the contentment and this was the first time, she even didn’t want to stop herself as she really wanted to flow out her emotions.

They both pulled back and he took out the ring then asked for her hand. She extended her right hand and she put the ring in ring finger there. He then kissed her hand over that ring. She looked the ring with exhilaration and a bright smile came on her face. It was the beautiful platinum ring with infinite sign which was caged in a heart shape.

Anika looked the ring then at him while exclaiming, “Its beautiful..”

He smiled and said while embracing her in his arms, “You know why I chose this infinite with heart ring?”

She shook her head as no and he said, “Like I have promised you my eternal love, this infinite is the sign of my infinite love for you which will be unconditional and this heart is my heart so precisely, I promise my heart always belong to you like it caged this sign here, our infinite love will always caged in our heart forever.”

Anika smiled and he again confessed, “I love you my chit chat and thank you for making me the most luckiest man in this earth by accepting me and my love.”

She too smiled and said, “Thank you making our love infinite, I love you too my cheesy monkey.” At last she pinched his nose.

He cupped her face and firstly wiped her tears then kissed her forehead. His lips halted there for a moment and she felt completed with his gesture. He pulled back and they both looked each other’s eyes for a while. Like he was seeing her comfort level and refraining himself for going further because he didn’t want her to think that on the first day of their confession, he forced her to do this.

She too looked in his eyes and found his hesitation to go further but she knew, now she accepted him  and this time, her every decision was right. She too wanted the same what he wanted. Seeing him not taking next step, she too cupped his face and brought to her level then without thinking anything further, she attached her lips to his while closing her eyes.

He was little taken aback with her move as didn’t expect this from her but seeing her affectionate nature towards him, he became delighted and encircled his arms around her waist and she too pulled him near to her while crossing her arms around his neck then deepened the kiss more. The kiss wasn’t the passionate one, it was the sweet and slow one most likely, It was a promise kiss for them, a promise to cherish each other and to start this new milestone with full love, their  “Dreamy Milestone.”
