Mishra House:

Akshit and Anika reached to the living area and saw her mother was arranging the table. Meanwhile doorbell rang and Anika went to open the door. Akshit came to her mother and said, “Let me help you, aunty…”

Ruchi stopped him while saying, “No beta, its ok… I will do. You sit here…”

Akshit tch in response and said, “Aunty, if your own son was here and told you the same still you would have stopped him…”

Ruchi’s hand halted after hearing him and she looked him who already was seeing her with his raised brows then said, “No right, so, just consider me your son and let me help you…”

Ruchi didn’t say anything and passed a nervous smile to him while nodding and he asked, “By the way, I forgot to ask, in Anika’s bio which you guys had sent, it mentioned she has one brother and sister-in-law but I haven’t seen them here, where are they?”

Ruchi looked him with nervousness and before he could say, they heard Anika’s father voice, “They live in Mumbai due to his work…”

They both turned and saw in that direction. Anika and her father, Anirudh came inside and he stood in front of Akshit. Anika was standing beside her father and she spoke, “Akshit, my father and papa, he is…”

Anirudh stopped her in middle and said, “I know beta, who he is. Your mom told me that today she has invited Mr. Khanna for lunch…”

Akshit heard him and said, “Call me, Akshit, uncle… Mr. Khanna is too professional for me.”

Anirudh smiled and Akshit bent down then took his blessings. Anirudh saw his gesture and he hugged him then patted his back while giving him his blessings.

“Let’s have lunch…” Ruchi said and they all nodded.

They all sat there and Anirudh came after washing his hands and face. Ruchi was serving Akshit when he stopped her and said, “Aunty please, don’t do the formalities, I will do it by myself…”

His words stopped Ruchi and unknowingly her eyes went moist as she remembered when they had invited Akhil at home, he too was doing the same things what Akshit was doing. First that arranging the table now that serving.

She still was in her thoughts when Anirudh called, “Ruchi…”

Ruchi blinked and saw her husband then looked everyone. She composed then smiled and said, “Let me do this today, after that I wont stop you for anything…”

Akshit didn’t say anything and let her serve. She was putting the curry in a bowl while saying, “I don’t know your like and dislike but still hope you will like what I have made for you…”

Akshit smiled and said, “Arey aunty, maa ke hath ka bana kuch bhi ho usmein pasand, napasand nhi hoti…mujhe to maa ke hath ka khane ko mil rha hai bas vhi bhut hai…
(Its ok, aunty, there is no likes and dislikes in mother’s food, I am glad at least I am having a mother’s handmade food…)”

His eyes unknowingly went moist after remembering his mother. Mishras looked him and heard his heavy voice. Ruchi put a motherly hand on his shoulder and said, “I am sorry beta, Sharma ji told us about your mom…”

(Sharma ji, who brought the alliance of Akshit to Anika’s family).

Akshit sniffled and said, “Its ok, aunty… it’s been long now… I am fine…”

They all heard and Anirudh said to lighten the mood, “I guess, we should start otherwise food will get cold…”

They all nodded and Ruchi too took her place then they all started eating in silence. Anika looked Akshit for once and he passed a faint smile to her which she noticed and observed he became sad after remembering his mother so, she thought to talk to him later on this topic.

After having the lunch, Anika was in kitchen with her mother and Akshit was sitting with her father in the living room. They were normally talking and chatting with each other while knowing about their work and all.

Ruchi was pouring the kheer(Rice pudding) in the bowl when Anika asked, “You too didn’t forget him right, mom?”

Ruchi’s hand halted after hearing her but she composed and sighed then while doing her work, she said, “I don’t know whom you are talking about…”

Anika scoffed while chuckling and said, “You know very well whom I am talking about but just don’t want to agree and does the act. I observed you today when Akshit’s actions and words were same like him and you lost in his memory, mom and now this kheer, it’s his favorite…”

Ruchi still was pouring the kheer and said, “Its nothing like that, you are thinking too much…”

She was going out while taking the tray when Anika again spoke with little angry tone, “When you guys are not forgetting him then how can you expect this thing from me, mom… I love him…” her eyes welled up and she sniffled.

Her mother stopped on her track and put the tray on the shelf then went to her. She put a comforting hand on her shoulder and said, “It’s been months beta… I know it’s difficult for you but now we all think, he will not come back and moved on. So now, it’s your turn to do the same. I know, you love him but sometimes, love too remains incomplete but this life should go on. Time will heal everything and I have this belief, Akshit is the right choice for you. He is a nice man, Ani, please think about him for once.”

Anika didn’t say anything and some silent tears came out from her eyes. Her mother again sighed and said, “We have waited for him, Ani but till how long we have been doing this. Think about this and try to move on. I know my daughter is strong enough to face this phase.”

“Ruchi, where is the kheer…” They were still talking when her father called her mother for bringing the kheer.

“Coming…” her mother replied then after taking the tray, she came out from the kitchen.

Anika wiped her tears then composed and spoke to herself, “I know, I am strong mom and with this strong personality, I will bring him back one day… I wont give up, mom, not to early…”

After that she too came out from the kitchen. They had their sweet dish when Anika spoke to Akshit, “I think, we should go and complete our project discussion, there still are some points which need to be discussed…”

They all looked her and Akshit looked her parents. Her father too saw them and said, “Of course beta, you guys carry on your work. I have to go to the clinic for attending some patients…”

Akshit nodded and they all stood up then they both went upstairs for the work. Anirudh and Ruchi saw them both and Anirudh asked, “What do you think, will she agree this time?”

Ruchi saw their retreating figure and said, “I wish, she will. Akshit is a nice man and I am sure, he will take care of our daughter very much. You know, unlike any other time, this time, Ani too said, she will think about this and I think, she will agree…”

Anirudh nodded and said, “I hope, she will because I don’t want to force her but if she will not then she will surely make me do that with her…”

Ruchi sighed heavily and nodded then he left for his work.

Meanwhile they both were going upstairs when Anika asked to Akshit, “I observed, you became sad after remembering your mom, wanna talk about her?”

Akshit became serious and said, “Nothing much except, she was a wonderful lady and my first love, she will always be…” he said last words with his misty eyes.

Anika gave him a small smile while nodding and asked, “Mind me asking, what happened to her?”

“I was 13 when she diagnosed with tumor and it was on last stage and we couldn’t do anything to save her but she was a strong lady and fought till her death and I am proud of her for that…” Akshit said with heaviness and lost in her mother’s memory while talking about her.

Anika put a comforting hand on her shoulder then squeezed it lightly to support him. He looked her then wiped his corner tears and chuckled. He held her hand and said, “Its ok, I am fine… it’s just sometimes, I miss her so much…”

“Of course, you do after all she was your mom…” Anika said and smiled.

Akshit nodded and said, “Leave my topic, lets know about you more…”

He left her hand and asked, “So, you said, you were insecure to move further in this relationship. Care to explain the reason, mam because till now, what I observed that he was a sweet guy and loyal to you as well…”

Anika looked him and said, “He was loyal that’s true but for me, it wasn’t easy specially when I faced the heartbreak during my college days and that too from a flirt guy so, at first I thought, might be Akhil too was a flirt what if I moved on with him and he did the same with me what my college date did to me but then one night, on the reception party of, Ruhani and jiju, when I discussed my insecurities with him, he soothed me with his words and with honesty, asked from me a chance to celebrate our date night and I agreed…”

It was the reception party of Abhigyaan and Ruhani when everyone was doing couple dance. Abhigyaan and Ruhani too were doing as they both were the center of attention of the function while looking into each other’s eyes and like any other couple Anika too was admiring them while doing her dance with Akhil.

Anika looked Abhigyaan and Ruhani’s side and said with a smile, “I wish this moment will never stop for them.”

Akhil too saw where she was looking and saw his friend and sister, both were dancing while looking into each other. He again moved his eyes to Anika but she still was looking them and said, “I always said this to Ruhani that one day she will surely get someone who will love her more than anyone but she never believed on my words and now see anyone can read easily in Abhigyaan’s eyes that how much he loves her and I am so happy for them.”

Akhil was just listening to her while dancing and just looking to her side instead looking anyone else. He still was looking her and asked, “You can easily see in his eyes but what about me?”

Hearing his words, she looked him and asked with narrowed eyes, “What about you?”

“Have you ever tried to see in my eyes, how much I am waiting for your one yes” He said with sincerity while looking into those black obs.

Anika’s expression changed after seeing the sincerity in his eyes. She looked down because she knew what Akhil meant with those words. She didn’t say anything and he turned her around with the help of one hand and now her back was touching his front. He encircled his arms around her waist and put his chin on her shoulder. She shivered a bit when his skin made a contact with her and with the anticipation her eyes got closed.

Akhil looked her face from side and seeing her closed eyes, he said, “I know this proximity affects you a lot but I am not understanding if this is the case then why are you refraining yourself for giving us a chance?”

She opened her eyes and looked him from the side. After giving him one glance, she again looked at the front but still couldn’t form the words that what she should say.

Akhil chuckled a bit and said, “Wow, this is very special moment I guess because Ms. Chit chat is being a silent person and too with my talks that’s really different. I don’t know my words can make you a muter too.”

She too laughed a bit and again he turned her around. He held her from her waist then jerked her towards him and automatically her both hands went on his shoulders then he asked, “Wont you say something?”

She looked down and said, “You just see my one side not other, that’s why you are saying this.”

“Then give me a chance to see yours every side. I am all ready” Akhil said with honesty while looking at her.

She looked his face and his eyes where she didn’t find any kind of mischievousness. He was talking sincerely to her. She heaved a sigh and left his shoulders while saying, “I need water.”

With this she left the floor. Akhil didn’t understand her behavior. He knew something was there that was bothering her and now he wanted to know. With this thought, he too left the floor and followed her.

Anika left the party and came to the front garden. She was sitting on a bench while thinking something. Akhil came and saw her. It was the first time that he was seeing her like this much silent and lost in her thoughts. He came and sat near her without saying anything.

Atmosphere became silent for a while, just some background music was coming from the backyard but it too wasn’t that loud for them as they were sitting at the front side of the Mansion. Anika knew, he was sitting beside her and waiting for her to say something.

She looked a blank space and without looking to him she started speaking, “I was in college when I first met him.”

Akhil looked her with narrowed eyes but didn’t say anything and she continued still looking that blank space, “He was my batch mate. I had a huge crush on him and one day after gathering lot of courage, I told him that I liked him after knowing that he was a playboy and every now and then flirt with any random girl but still I thought I shouldn’t bury my feelings and confessed to him.”

Akhil’s expression changed as now he was understanding her turmoil after listening that word playboy. He still didn’t say a word and she said while looking to him, “And you know what, to my luck, he accepted my proposal and said he was waiting from my side confession because he thought if he would have confessed then might be like other girls, I too didn’t believe him just because of his flirty nature.”

Akhil nodded and looked down for a while. She turned her head at the front and said with her misty eyes, “On that day I was on cloud nine that my crush also liked me. He said he would change himself for me but I had to help him and I agreed.”

Akhil again looked her. Her eyes were showing some pain while telling the story. She wasn’t crying but seemed like, she had buried a lot of pain in her heart which she was letting out in front of him.

She heaved a sigh and said, “Things were going great between us. He too started changing himself for me or I could say just pretending to be changed. With each and every passing day, my happiness was on peak with him. He always planned some surprises for me in the weekends. I thought he was doing all these just to make me happy and feel special but I didn’t know, I was trapping myself in a web of lies.”

Her throat went heavy and eyes became moist but she controlled herself and spoke further, “One evening, he invited me to his friend’s party and I went there with him. He introduced me there with his friends and we spent very good time with each other. We were dancing and didn’t know when the desires took over between us. He took me to the private area and started kissing me hungrily. I too gave my first kiss to him with the thought that he would have never cheated on me as he had changed. He wanted to take things further but somehow, I stopped him in middle by saying, this wasn’t the right place and we shouldn’t do hurry in our relationship. He was pissed for a while but then he composed and reluctantly agreed with me.”

Akhil still was sitting on the same place didn’t move a bit as he didn’t know how he should react with this because somehow, he knew what was coming next.

Tears were now started coming to her eyes and she said further still not looking at him, “I told him, I wanted to go home because on that time, I was little drunk also and couldn’t believe on myself with anything so, I thought its better to leave the place and he became sad but still agreed with me. I was in the halfway of my home when his sad expressions came to my mind and I thought we loved each other and there was nothing wrong to take next step. So, I turned my car and went to the party again only to break my heart into zillionth of pieces.”

She sniffed while remembering that worst night of her life which she left behind but today after hearing him, she thought to express her insecurities to him.

Her heart became heavy and she said while having silent tears in her eyes which started flowing for now, “I reached there and saw, he was sitting in a private booth with a girl who was his ex. They both were kissing and sucking to each other. I couldn’t believe on my eyes what I was seeing. I was in my broken state when I saw them coming from the booth and went to somewhere. I hid myself from them and then followed them. I saw they both went into a room. Though I knew what was on my way but still I wasn’t able to convince myself because sometimes what we see it’s not fully truth too so to gather all the courage I opened the door a little as the door wasn’t locked fully and went inside. They both were laying naked there and…” She couldn’t complete her sentence and finally a loud sob escaped from her mouth.

Akhil came to her and side hugged her. She was crying while covering her face with her palms. Her head was in his chest and he started caressing her forearm to calm her.

Her sob subsided a bit but tears were still streaming and she pulled back then said, “All my hopes and my dreams, he just broke in one night but this wasn’t enough, his next words not only broke me completely, I was devastated after that. He was saying to that girl, how he made me fool and trapped me in his love. He just wanted to use me for once because it was all the part of a bet which he put with one of his friends as according to them I was a hard nut to crack and after that I was nothing more than a garbage bag to him. He never loved me, everything he did, that was all just to gain my trust. He planned to do this that night only but I denied him. He still loved her that ex with whom he spent his night. Hearing all those words, I wasn’t able to control myself and I confronted him there only. He was shocked to see me there and tried to convince me by saying that girl forced him to do so but he knew I wouldn’t buy any lie now so, I slapped him very hard and after that when I was leaving he tried to molest me in front of his girlfriend only but I somehow managed to escape and ran from there.”

She again started crying and Akhil closed his eyes in anger while fisting his hand. Thinking about someone tried to force on her, making him mad and he was feeling rage from inside but he knew right now, the girl cried in front of him was needed him most.

He rubbed her forearm to calm her and she said, “My friends always warned me for him but I didn’t listen anyone. I chose him and his love over my friends as I had belief, I would change him but no, I was a fool who got trapped in his lie and suffered a heartbreak.”

She was crying very badly now. Seemed like, the pain that was inside her, she was opening in front of him and letting out all her hurtful emotions. He again hugged her and hid her face in his chest and started patting her head to sooth her. She was still crying and seeing her like this, his heart ached. He wanted to console her but didn’t know what to say. He knew she was being insecure about giving them a chance specially when she went through a brutal heartbreak with a playboy.

Her sob turned into sniffles and she pulled her head back from his chest. She looked him and he too looked her with pain. She looked down as thought might be now, he would be going to judge her and said, “I am sorry, I shouldn’t have said you all these.”

“Why not. You did nothing wrong to say all these to me. It wasn’t you it was me who should apologize” Akhil said to him and sat straight.

She looked him with her teary eyes and he said, “I understand why you shared all these with me and I have no complaints about anything neither I am going to judge you for anything because whatever happened with you, it wasn’t your fault, it was that bastard who never treated you the way you deserve. I know you are feeling insecure about giving us a chance because I too am a playboy and do flirt with any random girl. You and your fear are evident here.”

She looked down feeling bad with his words. He looked her and came closer to her. He held her hands and said, “But believe me Anika, whatever I did with you, it wasn’t any random flirting. After knowing about you and that boy, I now even won’t say you that I will change myself because I know you might not be believed on me.”

She was listening him still looking down and he kneel down in front of her and said still holding her hands, “But now I even don’t know how should I convince you. Just tell me the way what can I do to make you believe on me? I will do everything just to gain your trust. We have spent a lot time together till now and if anything in that time span you think was faked then please don’t take a step further and I too would back off from you and your life but yes, if you think whatever happened between us it all was genuine then please I request for one chance, for you, for me and for us.”

She looked up and saw into his eyes which was shining due to some unshed tears that was brimming in the corner of his eyes. There was a hope in his eyes to hear a yes from her but she wasn’t able to make a decision yet. She still was afraid as she didn’t want to go on that path again where she already suffered a heartbreak and now if something would be going to happen like this, she would shatter. She wouldn’t deny that his touches wouldn’t affect her and she loved their bantering with each other. He became flirty with her but it all was his mischievousness nothing else.

Akhil was waiting for her reply still holding her hands and she was lost in her thoughts. He took his hand back and stood thinking her rejection but she immediately held his hand when he was about to go. He turned and looked their hands then her.

She looked up and said with teary eyes and small smile, “Lets give us a chance.”

Akhil didn’t believe on her words. His eyes widened and he looked her for a while. He turned and asked with stunned expressions, “Did you say about chance or my ears are drumming?”

Anika chuckled hearing his words then stood up and said, “Nothing is drumming, I only said what you heard.”

His face filled with contentement. He picked her up from waist and twirled her around in happiness. A gasp escaped from her mouth with his sudden move but she composed and put her hands on his shoulders.

After twirling 3 times, she said, “Put me down, you cheesy monkey. What are you doing?”

“Expressing my happiness to you…” He said with big smile and put her down.

She was still in his hold and he looked her face. He lightly kissed her forehead and lingered his lips there for a while then pulled back and said, “Thank you for this day. You don’t know how much I was waiting for your one yes and now when you said yes then just wait and watch for our first date.”

Anika wiggled her eyebrows and said, “But you didn’t ask me like a true gentleman…” then made a pout.

Akhil made his face in a thinking way while raising his eyebrows and said, “Huh, don’t you think, me and gentleman, we don’t suit to each other.”

“Let me think...” She said while patting his index finger on her cheek.

Akhil chuckled on her childish act and she said, “That’s true and tough for you I guess, but you can try this for me.”

He smiled and left her waist. He held her hand and again kneel down then said, “Ms. Anika Mishra, May I get the honor to take you with me on a sweet date?”

Anika again started thinking in a pretending way whereas he was still on his knees. She was enjoying his state and he said, “Hurry up.. its aching now.. Please ab thoda to rehem kro, Ms. Chit chat (Now have some mercy, ms. Chit chat)” then he pouted with puppy eyes.

Anika laughed seeing his face and said while shaking her head, “Yes, Mr. Akhil Arora, I would gladly give you this honor.”

He stood up and again started twirling her around. She was laughing in his arms and he was cherishing the moment. He put her down and looked her eyes where some tears were making its way.

He wiped her tears while saying, “God, I don’t know my chit chat could cry this much. You are giving me surprise over surprise tonight, you know that.”

Anika chuckled a bit and hit him on his shoulder then said, “And you too gave me surprise by not showing any cheesiness tonight. It is also hard to digest actually.”

Akhil rolled his eyes and said, “Cheesiness dikhayu to bhi bura na dikhayu tab bhi tumhe shikayat hai, ab banda kare to kare kya…(If I show my cheesiness then I am bad if I am not showing still you are complaining, what this man should have done now..)” At last he made a pout while shaking his head.

Anika laughed on his behavior and said, “Nothing much, just plan a brilliant date for us.”

“Huh…this is the best thing to think for now I guess, I can do that easily” Akhil said and they both laughed again then went to the party while holding each other’s hand with contentment. They went to the dance floor again and started dancing with each other while smiling and talking to each other.

Anika looked outside the window and Akshit went to her. She was lost in her thoughts that didn’t notice his presence until he didn’t put his hand on her shoulder which startled her.

Anika looked him and he said, “I am sorry, Anika, you had to go through that bad phase but you are really a strong girl that you handled it so maturely…”

Anika smiled faintly and he spoke, “But I am happy that Akhil helped you and you gave him a chance to prove himself…”

Anika genuinely smiled and nodded. Akshit looked her and asked hesitantly, “But what you have told me and what we see today, Akhil too broke your heart so, are you not angry with him?”

Anika looked him and sighed then said, “No, I am not and the reason is, that boy broke my heart intentionally and it was all the part of a bet but Akhil, I know, his love is true for me and if he broke my heart then there must be a reason behind this which I will come to know one day…”

“So much confident you have…” Akshit said and smiled.

Anika chuckled and said, “Of course, I have to be for my love after all…” then shrugged.

Akshit nodded and asked, “So, you gave him a chance and what next, a date night?”

Anika nodded and said, “Yes, it was surely our first date night but before that date, whenever we met, there was a different spark in his eyes every time like he was very much serious about this and like, he wanted to make this date a perfect one for both of us… his actions spoke louder every time when we met. I mean, his flirty and cheesy lines turned to the romantic ones and the care and concerns, he showed towards me even I didn’t feel that in my previous relationship. One day he even brought food for me in my office because my friend told her that if I skip my meal then I feel dizzy which is true actually and even I fainted too but he was there for me and seeing his care, I was so touched that it made me emotional but somehow I was happy too because I thought my decision was right to give him a chance and even I came to know that how much I liked him.”

“That’s so sweet actually…” Akshit said with his genuine smile.

Anika nodded with a smile then went to her closet. She brought the dress which he specially selected for her on their first date.

She showed that dress to Akshit and spoke, “And finally that night came which more than me, Akhil waited…”

Anika started caressing the fabric of that dress which her misty eyes while remembering that night which was an unforgettable as whatever he did that was totally “Out Of The Blue” for her.
