School Sleep Schedule

Girls. Girls! Something we are all guilty is sleep. Sometimes we get 9 hours, but sometimes we get... well uhmm... 4 hours. Maybe we're staying up trying to kill school, read, or even just can't sleep! Or maybe... you're just browsing social media, or watching youtube. No matter what age you are, you need to get about 7-10 hours of sleep. Period. How do we get that? That's what we're here to help with that.

1. Put the screens away!

Well, not every single second of the day. Just about an hour before you usually go to bed, put the device away. Don't sleep with it in your room, maybe put it in the living room or the kitchen, charging. No computers, phones, i-pads, or tablets in your room at night!

2. In that screen-free hour you can...

- Take a shower

- Reading a book (paper)

- Yoga or stretching

- Journaling or reflecting on your day or week

- Brushing teeth, hair, ect.

3. Already have your room in a sleep-ready place

Have a...

- Clean room

- Cozy bed with pillows and blanket

- No stress (Get sleep, good grades, ditch the drama)

- Temp- 65 and below

4. Once you are in bed... stall!

-Sleep on your right side

- Wearing cozy PJs

- Cuddling with stuffed animals

- Breathing slowly

- Counting to 200

And then you should fall asleep! But! When do you go to bed? My school starts at around 8:30, so I wake up at around 7:45. For me, it takes about 45 minutes to fall asleep. I personally go to sleep at around 9:30, so I get about 9 hours! Perfecto! Please always go to sleep at least 11:00, even on a non-school night!
