Lukas's POV
I stared at Jess, smirking.
She walked to me, gripping me in a tight hug.
Before I knew it, though, she pulled back.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Nothing.... I was just hugging you too tight..." she huffed.
I smiled.
"You know... things are gonna get harder, right?"
Jess slapped me with pillow.
I laughed, hugging the pillow.
"Of course I know that, Lukas." She growled. "I wasn't born yesterday. I've also had to take classes on-"
"Yep." I interrupted, remembering awkward sex ed classes with... Aiden and Axel... and..
I shuddered.
"But...." whimpered Jess. "What about our friends? What will we tell them?"
I thought about it.
"Either way, you know Axel and Jester are gonna kill me when the see us next." I teased.
Jess laughed.
"True. But if they mention me getting sick the next time we talk, we tell them."
I nodded.
"Okay... I just..."
"I won't let Axel or Jester hurt you, Lukas. Plus- they're all talk. They wouldn't ever do anything besides scream threats at you."
Huh. So all those years I've been afraid of Axel... he'd never do anything to me? I guess that's good...
Right as I was about to do something else, the phone buzzed.
Well... my phone buzzed.

I accepted the call, ending my ringtone.
It was a FaceTime.

O: hey Lukas! How's Jess doing? Did you two make it home okay?
L: *chuckle* she's fine, Olivia. I think she was just homesick.
O: ...
A: you sure, Blondie? Let me see her.
L: one sec. *hands phone to jess*
J: hi! *trying best to sound sick*
A: hey sis. How's Blondie treating you?
J: *giggle* Hes perfect, Axel. No need to worry about us.
A: I'm not worried about him- I'm worried about you.
J: but either way, were fine.
Jester: *snatches phone from axel* HEEEY! It's my sister from the copying machine!
J: shut up jester.
Jester: MAKE ME.
P: is Jess okay?
O: she's fine.
P: but... she didn't seem okay before.
O: *takes phone*
O: Jess. There's something wrong. Tell us.
J: *turns red*
J: fine. I'll tell you what's wrong with me.
O: thank you!
J: I... have a parasite.
O: ...
A: ...
P: ...
Jester: ...
O: are you... are you going to die?
J: heck no! *giggles*
O: what did the doctor say?
J: *looks at Lukas across the room*
J: he was.... shocked.
A: WHAT THE HECK IS IT CALLED?
J: it's called a human being.
O: ...
A: ...

P: ...
O: j-Jess? You're..
J: yep. I'm... heh... I'm pregnant.
A: LUKAS IM GONNA KILL YOU.
Jester: LUKAS YOU BETTER PACK YOUR BAGS OR WERE GONNA-
P: IM SO HAPPY FOR YOU JESS!
O: *squeals*

Lukas: *scared* uh... *turns bright red*
A:*smirks* just kidding. Lukas, you've been good to my sister.
Jester: HEY! SHES MY SISTER TOO!
A: *whips head around* SHUT UP.
*turns back to face lukas*
A: *smiles*
A: we won't be back for... a-another two months....
O: we're glad you guys left when you did. It would have been bad if we all found out at camp... it seems like this place sucks up happy feelings.
P: DONT TRY ANYTHING ELSE, GUYS!
J: I'll try not to!
L: *face turns bright red*
O: BYE! *click*
*screen goes dark*
Jess sighed, looking sad.
"You didn't have to tell them, you know." I teased, sitting next to her on the couch.
"But if I didn't do it now... when else would I do it?" She sighed, taking a blanket and wrapping it around herself.
"True." I smiled.
"Hey! Share the blanket!"
"NEVER!" Shrieked Jess, giggling.
She took the blanket, enveloping me in it with a big hug.
I smirked.
"I thought it hurt to hug me?" I teased.
"That as ONE TIME. I'm not that far yet." She snapped, her tone playful.
"Even though im mad because I'm usually a stomach sleeper." She muttered.
"Not anymore." I said.
"Hah ha." She mumbled, continuing to hug me.
"But seriously, Lukas." Sighed Jess, sounding small. "Are you sure you're okay with this?"
I thought back to Cecelia... and Petra... and Myah...
and how they had all caused me so much pain.
I... never wanted Jess to have to feel that pain.
"Yes." I assured. "I'm sure, because I love you."
