Jess' POV
I WAS sleeping.
Until I heard squealing.
High pitched screams that could only mean one thing.
....Olivia was here.
"LUKESSEEEEEEEEE!" Screamed Olivia, running into my living room.
Lukas and I scrambled away from each other, terrified at the fact that Olivia just burst into my house and saw us cuddling on the couch.
"O-Olivia.... why are you in my house?!" I snapped. Axel appeared, a murderous look in his eyes.
"We're here to kill a blond architect." He growled.
Suddenly, Axel burst out laughing.
"I- I'm just kidding, guys!" He laughed.
"Yeah." Sighed Olivia. "I dared him."
Axel was still laughing.
"I-I'VE NEVER SEEN YOU SO PALE, LUKAS!" Gasped Axel.
I turned to Lukas, who looked like he was dying inside.
"But seriously. We're here to discuss news." Huffed Olivia, crossing her arms. "But if now is a bad time-"
"No! It's perfectly fine!" I objected.
"W-what is it you have to tell us?" Asked Lukas, his voice shaking.
Axel and Olivia looked to each other.
"We're dating!" Squealed Olivia.
"R-really?!" I gasped.
"REALLY!" Shrieked Olivia.
"Chillax, guys." Sighed Axel, brushing hair from his face. "We also need to tell you that Olivia and I will be going to Redstonia for.... work service. ....and we ... might be gone for... a couple years...."
I felt my heart drop down to my stomach.
"W-why would you-" I started.
"Magnus has taken role as leader of redstonia... but he says that the power is too much for him. He needs us to rule the city, and I'm afraid that means we'll have to live there." Sighed Olivia.
Before I could say anything else, I found myself hugging Axel.
My step brother was leaving me.
"It's okay, Jess...." he croaked. "I'll be home for holidays.... and anything else important... I'll-"
"I'm happy if you're happy." I asserted, remembering his words about me.
