Dressing up
Time Skip- Lukas's POV
I parked my candy apple red truck (don't ask me- I literally sat her for like forever trying to come up with a car that would suit him so I just said 'screw it. I'm gonna give him a truck.") in the lot of the mall.
I stuffed my keys into my pocket, walking to the gigantic building.
I mean, it's not like I haven't been to the mall before...
It's just been expanded.
A lot.
I saw a huge sign that read: 'Welcome to BrierWorth Mall!" (Again, don't ask me.)
The glass doors opened, revealing the massive food court.
In the far corner of the room, I saw Axel.
Eating cake.
Classic Axel.
I smirked, walking over to his table.
"Hey, Lukas!" Exclaimed Axel, swallowing his cake.
He was wearing exactly what he said he would, his hair different. It usually falls over his face, but he spiked it up a bit, making him look fancier.
I.. was wearing my red plaid shirt, my usually messy blond hair combed down a bit.
"Red's your favorite color, right?" Asked Axel.
"Yeah..." I sighed, "why?"
"No reason."
I looked at him skeptically, watching him eat his cake.
"So... umm... you got any information for me?" I ask.
"Yeah." Said Axel, pushing his empty plate aside. "What do you want to know?"
"Um, I want to know anything that might be helpful." I huffed.
"Okay." Said Axel, a smirk on his face. "First of all, Jess loves anything sweet. Like- she'd kill for ice cream or cake."
"Guess it runs in the family." I teased.
"Second of all- Jess is a sucker for romance. She loves watching romantic comedies, sitting on the couch and eating popcorn is usually her routine."
"Is there anything else about her personality I should know?" I asked.
"Just one." Sighed Axel. "She cries. A lot. And that's either over good things, bad things... you name it."
"That's okay." I said, thinking about how my other dates would never do that. They'd always want to do things themselves.
Axel stood up, smirking.
"Come on, heartbreaker. We've got to go buy some shit."
Jess' POV
"SCREEEEEEIIIEEEEEEE!"
Olivia screeched with delight, slamming open my front door.
Petra followed her, looking much less excited.
Olivia ran for me, crushing me in a bear hug.
"JESS I CANT BELIEVE YOU ACTUALLY GOT A DATE WITH LUKAS!!!!" Squealed Olivia.
"Olivia- you're crushing me." I grunted.
"Oh- sorry."
I looked at my friends, who had just invited themselves into my home.
"What exactly are you guys doing here?" I asked.
"Were helping you find your perfect dress for your date." Growled Petra, taking my hand.
"What?!" I objected.
"Come on- let's look through your closet."
"But I don't have any dresses!" I snapped.
They both stopped, looking at me.
"Then we're going shopping."
Lukas's POV
"Jess doesn't like anything TOO formal." Assured Axel, walking me over to a section of the store with... fancy shit. (Idk I don't pay attention to formalities)
He handed me a stack of clothes.
"Put all of these on." Huffed Axel, crossing his arms. "Show me each one."
Jess' POV
"What color dress do you want?" Asked Olivia.
"Um... mint green, or peach?" I said, wondering aloud.
"YOU HEARD THE WOMAN!" Demanded Olivia. "MINT GREEN OR PEACH!"
Petra ran back, looking like she had dozens of dresses draped over her arms.
"Try these on." Muttered Petra, handing the dresses to me. "Show us when you find one you like."
Lukas's POV
Too many tuxes.
Too many button-up shirts.
Last time I wore something formal was when.. when I went on my last date with Myah.
I pushed my thought out my head, looking at myself in the mirror.
I had put my jeans back on, as none of the pants had fit me anyway.
I had on a sky-blue button-up shirt, though.
And I think it looked pretty good.
I walked out of the room to show Axel.
Jess' POV
Too many dresses.
Most were too slutty, making me extremely uncomfortable. (They probably weren't designed like that- but I'm a relatively tall person)
Others were too tight, constructing me with every breath.
And some were too big, making me feel too small.
I had hung the dresses that I didn't want back up on the wall, only a small amount left.
I sighed, slipping on an peach-cream colored one, and it actually fit me.
It fanned out in a tutu kind of formation, but it looked decent.
Just above my knees, I thought it was perfect.
It had beautiful lace flowers in the outside of my torso, sparkles in the skirt part. It wasn't strapless, as it had strips of fabric round my shoulders, and there was a small opening in the back of my dress, stopping in the middle of my shoulder blades.
This was the dress.
I walked out, going to show Petra and Olivia.
Lukas's POV
"It's great!" Exclaimed Axel, taking the other clothes and putting them on the return table. "But... don't you need shoes?"
Oh god, not this again.
"I'm good, Axel." I sighed.
"But, Lukas-"
"I'm sure it's fine." I sighed, walking to the line waiting for the checkout.
Jess' POV
"YOU LOOK FABULOUS!" Shrieked Olivia, fawning over my dress.
"NOW YOU JUST NEED SHOES!"
"No, Olivia. I'm just planning on wearing my converse."
"Do you want to look like a hipster?" Asked Petra.
"I don't care. I'm just not walking in heels." I growled.
Time skip-
I handed the woman my card and she swiped it, her eyes growing wide.
"Y-you're Jessica! Jessica from the New Order!" Gasped the woman.
"Yeah..." I sighed, preparing my speech. "Just here to buy some shit. Cause I totally don't mind it when I get questioned in the store for buying milk."
The woman looked embarrassed, quickly putting my dress in the bag.
"I'm sorry..." Apologized he woman.
"No..." I sighed. "I'm sorry. I'm just worried."
"About what?" Asked the woman.
"JESS HAS A DATE ON FRIDAY!" Screeched Olivia, swooping into the line.
"Really?" Asked the woman. "They better treat you with kindness."
"Yeah." Hissed Petra. "If Lukas lays a HAND on you without your permission- in coming there and kicking him in the balls."
"Petra!" Gasped Olivia.
"Hey." Said Petra, defensively. "It's valid. He can't hurt you."
I smiled.
But I'm still nervous for this date.
