Chapter 8

"Ya. Aren't you gonna get up?" Yuta kicked Taeyong's chair in an attempt to provoke him to stand up. It has been three days since Taeyong started behaving like this and it has been exactly three days since the last time Taeyong apologized to Nara. He didn't tell anyone about it because he knew he messed up too much to even apologize like that. It was another gloomy, boring day for them except Taeyong who was in deep sorrow. He was actually experiencing grief and his friends were in denial. Taeyong was never like this and they did not know why he was like this now. "I should just sleep at home these days. School isn't fun anymore." Jaehyun said and Lucas agreed to him sighing. "Taeyong. This isn't fun play I swea-" "It's not fun for freaking fuck's sake! It's not fun and I ain't doing this for fun. I am not doing this to myself on purpose. I actually feel very sad and guilty do you know that? I'm so tired of y'all. Don't follow me." Taeyong screamed at them, startling the others as well and left the classroom. Unfortunately, Nara wasn't in class when he screamed how he felt so he felt a little embarrassed. Now everyone knows he feels bad about it. 'Ugh. I don't care.' He thought to himself as his heavy footsteps lead to the rooftop.

"You have any plans today?" Yungho pulled out the movie tickets in eager, hoping she'd say a no and accept his date. "Seriously Yungho? It's not even a weekend." He couldn't hide the disappointment that was obvious on his face. "Yeah but, I could just drop you off home right after the movie." "No that's okay. I have to study I'm sorry. Also, my mom wouldn't be that pleased because you are a boy." She wasn't aware of how disappointed he was. "But she knows me." Yungho tried again. "Yeah she does but I'm very sorry to decline my friend." She patted him on the back. "You should get yourself an actual date. A beautiful one." She added and stood up brushing off the dust from her skirt. Yungho sighed and stood up as well. "Fine. Good for me, I'll just take someone with me." Although he was sad about Nara rejecting his date, he didn't show it at all and in reality he wasn't going to go to the movie if Nara wasn't going. They were on their way to class after sitting on the rooftop for a while and Taeyong bumped onto Yungho. "Sorry, my bad." He was sarcastic enough for Yungho to notice that. "Watch where you are going." Yungho gritted his teeth as they made eye conact. "Class starts in 10 minutes Yungho. You gotta run to 2nd floor although my class is 2 minutes away now." Nara broke the intense stare between them as she knew it wouldn't lead to anything better. Taeyong left as quick as possible because he didn't want to see Nara. 'Do I like her?'. He thought. 'Why does my heart like this when I see her now?' He was drowning in his thoughts on his way to his favorite spot, the rooftop.

The last class ended way sooner than she thought and she was relieved that it did. She looked around a little, looking for Taeyong but he wasn't there. All his friends were in the class but he wasn't. 'He didn't come to class?' What is it to me anyway? Why am I so bothered?' She had so many questions in her mind and she knew he was genuinely feeling bad about everything he did. It was all obvious from his behavior.
She was just about to leave with her bag when Taeyong stopped her right in front of the door. "Wait." Nara stopped and waited for him to speak up. Everyone's attention was on them and Taeyong's little gang was a little surprised at his sudden appearance. "Nara, I'm very sorry." He stared at her intensely before apologizing loud enough for the wholr class to hear. She was speechless.

"Have you lost it Taeyong?!" -Jaehyun
"Daebak. He actually apologized to her..." -Mark
"I can finally sleep well tonight without him continuously texting me." -Chittapon

All his friends were too shocked to even move from their seats except for Yuta who walked up to him and touched his forehead. "You okay? Are you sure you don't have fever? You aren't sick?" He blurted out all questions at once with a priceless expression. "I'm really sorry for my reckless behavior. I won't repeat it again." Taeyong ignored Yuta's existence and apologized to Nara again. "Okay. You do have some manners I see."  She crossed her arms as she spoke. "But since I accepted your apology, I'd like you to stop playing the jameless tricks in return. Also never approach me again. Not with the tricks." "So are we okay now?" Taeyong said, almost feeling happy until she spoke again. "What do you mean okay? What did we ever have to even be okay with first? We weren't friends to even start with. We were nothing. We still aren't. It's just that, you bullied me because you were bored I guess? It was all just to deal with your boredom." Taeyong couldn't deny her words. Half of what she said was true. They weren't even friends to start with so what's there to be okay about. "You are misunderstanding Nara. It wasn't just because I was bored." He said. "Oh then what was it? Because you had so much spare time and there is no other nerds in this class except for me?" She fired back, her tone sounding angrier each time she speaks. Taeyong sighed. "Whatever. I'm sorry anyway. I won't bother you again." Taeyong lowered his head as he walked out of the classroom again. "You should've been gentle on him. He's really sensitive to words when he is off. Plus, he wasn't bored please know that." Yuta couldn't just walk away without saying anything. She was about to say something back when her phone buzzed. More like, when everyone's phone buzzed.

From Jooyoung: I'm going to be 18 tomorrow and you are all invited for my birthday party held at my mansion at 7pm. Please join the fun and enjoy lots of delicious food. Hope you all will come. ♥

"What a timing." She mumbled.

——————————————

"You are going to the party right?" Jaehyun asked and Taeyong nodded. He wasn't really interested but he planned to go because he didn't want to stay home. "Ya. I actually talked to Jooyoung about the party and she said her parents wont be home." Lucas was so happy about the fact that her parents won't be home and Chittapon responded him with an awkward for expression. "Will Nara go?" Finally, Taeyong spoke after so long but it wasn't very pleasing words. "I guess. I mean, obviously she'd go because Jooyoung is a classmate and it's rude to ditch it. But I don't think it's a good thing to make a move on her or approach her." Yuta advised him. "No, I ain't even planning to. I just want to look at her from far." Yuta was the only one aware of how Taeyong actually felt towards Nara. Their words came as a shocker to Lucas, Jaehyun and Chittapon. "What?!" They said in Unison. "Taeyong likes Nara?" They screamed again in unison. "Uh yeah he does. She's actually very pretty after all and he didn't really know when he fell in love. He told me about it through text two days back. It was very obvious anyway. How are you guys so naive I swear." Yuta was very cool about the whole situation but the other three wasn't. They were still shook. "Aish. Stop with those priceless ugly expressions. Go get dressed we have to go in a while." Yuta kicked them into the room while he stayed in the living room with a gloomy Taeyong.

————————————

"Wah you look so pretty!" Yungho complimented and Nara smiled so brightly. "But isn't that too short." He added, making her frown. "It's not! It's a party. I ain't gonna be a nerd there." She sulked. "Okay party girl. Let's go in." He parked the car in the parking lot and walked in together with Nara. "Oh wow. This is an actual party yeah!!" Yungho screamed as the loud music wasn't letting him talk quietly. "Yeah it totally is!" Nara screamed back, a little terrified because it was dark in there. The only lights were the party lights which were moving around here and there in different colors. "Hey I'm gonna go get a coke!" Yungho said and left Nara alone in the crowd.

"Don't drink so much what the hell?" Jaehyun tried to stop Taeyong. "You aren't even 18 the fuck man." Lucas said. Taeyong wasn't 18 but the rest of them were. Taeyong is the youngest among them. There were drinks at the party because Jooyoung turned 18 and most of them were 18. She invited the whole grade including some seniors so there were a lot of people. "Not like anybody would know even if he is 18 or not. Seniors here are 19 or 20 looking like they are 10 years younger than us. So no worries." Yuta was enjoying too much to even worry about anything else.

Taeyong was half drunk. He was finding it hard to open his eyes a little but he was sober enough to spot out Nara, standing alone and awkward in the crowd. He forgot what she said the other day about not approaching her so he walked towards her leaving his friends with the girls they were hooking up with. Taeyong grabbed her wrist as soon as he reached her and dragged her to the first floor, where there was no one. First floor is the hallway where the rooms were located. "Let me go!" She groaned and he dragged her into one of the rooms and locked the door. "What is wrong with you. I thought you were going to stop this nonsense!" She gritted her teeth and tried her best to free from his grip. "Park Nara. You look beautiful tonight, again." He spoke and she calmed down. "What?" "Yeah. I said, you look very beautiful and I do remember telling you the same before." She was once again left speechless. "I didn't do it out of boredom. I think you are really beautiful and I hope you know that. I just wanted to tell you this." He loosened the grip on her wrist and smiled genuinely. The best smile she ever saw, she was seeing it once again. He was always so handsome and she lowkey wanted to say that too but her ego was holding back as she just left without saying anything.
