No More Skinny Love
(Kirito)
Now that term became so clear to me. Skinny love.
I heard Klein use it before, but I never knew why.
I sat waiting for my next match.
Skinny love. When two people love each other but are too shy to admit it, yet show it anyway.
He used this term to describe Shino once. Now I finally get it.
He wasn't just talking about Shino. The lug knew me. He knew me better than I knew me. Which is a disturbing thought.
He knew I had some feelings for Shino, feelings that never came to light. And he clearly saw Shino's feeling for me.
He saw it. Skinny love. The best example I can think of us.
Shino and I.
There no better term to explain it.
I looked at the screen and saw a match between two random people. A man with a cameo outfit and someone else in a green cloak.
Obviously since I was in a relationship, I couldn't really think about it. And Klein knew that. Once he felt something was happening between Asuna and I, the guy starting making his moves on Shino. Its makes so much sense now.
I'm not upset at Klein. I'm more upset at myself.
"Winner of the match, SINOOOOOOON!" the announcement rang.
My eyes widen. No, it can't be. I turn to the screen and see the person under the green cloak. Faint blue hair. Piercing blue eyes. Although her eyes, they hold something different.
I rush towards where Sinon would walk out of. And sure enough she did.
"Sinon!" I call out. Her whole demeanor changed. She became stiff. She turned to me in a slow manner and froze as soon as she met my eyes. Something's not right.
"Kirito?" She questioned. The crowd surrounding her made room for her to walk over. And surely, she did. She walked over to me.
"Sinon," I cry, relieved to see her face.
"Don't talk, just listen," she replied coldly. I was taken aback.
"Okay," I replied. She raised an eyebrow.
"Oh right, I spoke," I replied sheepishly. She face palmed.
"I guess I spoke again," I laugh nervously. The crowd chuckled at our antics. Even heard someone cry out, They're so cute.
"Just listen," she pleaded, voice tired. I frown at this. She looked so broken. I nodded.
"Whatever you came here for, go back," Sinon mumbled. She turned around, ready to take her leave.
On impulse I reached to her and took a hold of her hand.
"I came here for you," I exclaimed. She turned with a confused look.
"How would you know I was even here?" Sinon questioned.
"I just knew. If you wanted to be alone, you wouldn't be in ALO," I exclaimed. Somewhere in the crowd I heard fairy wimps. Yeah, their lucky I'm caught up at the moment.
"Then why didn't you just leave me alone?" Sinon pleaded, now trying to pry her hand from mine.
"Because I wanted to know if you were okay," I replied. This caught her by surprise but soon to gain back her cool composure.
"Well now that you've seen I'm okay, can you leave?" Sinon pleaded once again.
"I also came to tell you something," I said.
"Yeah? And what's that?" Sinon spat.
"I love you," slipped my lips. It seemed to overcome her like a flood. I heard two distinct cries from the crowd. It was those two guys I ran into.
"She's into girls," one cried.
"Uh, I'm a dude. Completely straight," I announced, which caught everyone by surprise.
I ignored them and turned my attention to Sinon.
"You don't mean it," Sinon mumbled.
"Of course I do," I replied, now holding both of her hands.
"You still love Asuna," she said coldly. She might as well place a bullet in my heart.
That's what it felt like. I let go of her hands and placed one on her cheek and another on her waist.
"I'll admit I'm dense. I'm stupid. And you deserve more than what I've been giving you," I started. She nodded in agreement. Which made me smile. She doesn't doubt that.
"And yeah, I loved Asuna. I still might. But I saw Asuna doesn't complete me. I've always been dependent on her, and she was dependent on me. What we had wasn't healthy," I admitted. She lowered her head, leaving my gaze.
"What does any of that have to do with me?" Sinon asked.
"I want us to be different," I replied, lifting her chin. I saw tears form in her eyes.
"Us?" She muttered. I nodded and smiled at her.
"It took me about a whole year for me to love Asuna. You took over my heart in a twinkling of an eye. I love you Sinon. And I want to put your heart back together," I pleaded. She backed away from my grasp and took it all in.
"Then why did you run away?" She questioned. I gave her a questioning look.
"When I kissed you," she mumbled. I blushed uncontrollably. Why did I run?
"Because it scared me. That I actually had a chance with you," I realized as I spoke.
"Do you want to talk, not here?" Sinon asked uncomfortably. I followed her gaze and noticed the crowd was still there, watching this live soap opera.
"Don't you have something better to do?" I questioned at the crowd.
"The match is nowhere near as interesting as this," a guy in the crowd replied.
"Uh, okay," I mumbled awkwardly before turning back to Sinon.
"Before we log out, where are you anyway?" I questioned. Sinon squirmed a bit.
"Well I'm kinda at a friends place," Sinon replied.
"Which friend?" I lifted an eyebrow. All my friends are Sinon's friends.
"I'm kinda at Tsuboi's place, bye!" Sinon quickly logged out.
"Klein," I chuckled in frustration. I logged out with a mission.
