Boss of Tricks and Cheats

Hey readers! I hope you can keep up! Lots of action, and well, the title pretty much explains everything. I hope you enjoy this chapter!

(Sinon's POV)

We prepared for this boss fight like we always had. Just like any other, although there was some difference.

This was life and death, so we did everything with absolute seriousness.

If we double checked our inventory and weapons before, this time we check them five or six times to be sure we were had everything we needed.

If we discussed a game plan once or twice, well now we're studying it about four times to make sure everyone understands their role.

We were determined not to lose. It would cost us our very lives if we did.

Maybe if this was a month ago, I wouldn't care so much. I had nothing to live for, really, but since Kazuto has become such a bigger part of my life, I didn't want to lose that. He makes me want to live. He showed me a brighter side of life that breaks away from my darker past. Despite his dark past, he brights up my world.

My past defined me. Kazuto opens a new door that shows me what I want to become, and how I want to live. A door that was never there before.

So much has changed in such a short period of time. Most of it was a good change. And I won't let anyone, much less someone like Ken take away everything now.

He may have stripped me from my dignity. And my purity. But he won't strip away every good thing I've gained so far.

It was a different story when he messed with me. But my friends and Kazuto are off limits.

And I plan into show him just that, when we enter the boss event arena.

"Ready Sinon?" Silica tugged on my sleeve, snapping me out of my thoughts. I smirked at her.

"I've never been readier," I pat her head, and she gave me a admiring grin.

I lifted my face to see our friends all grouped outside the open front door, discussing amongst themselves, mostly waiting.

I didn't realize I was holding them up. Silica took a hold of my hand and led me outside.

"You ready for this Sinon?" I was asked once again, but this time by Klein, who had a fist, fired up.

"You know it," I replied, fist also up.

"Alright, just so everyone knows their roles, Sinon you'll be in the back with Asuna. You're role is to have our backs and attack while we heal," Kirito started with my role.

"Asuna you heal and handle the potions until told otherwise, to come on the front lines with me," Asuna nodded.

"Klein and Lisbeth, you'll be on the front lines with me, attacking," Klein and Lisbeth nodded.

"And Silica, stay by my side along with Klein and Lisbeth, have my back and switch when told to," Silica nodded.

Kirito was really taking charge, and his expression was serious. I've never seen him like this. Not since GGO. Against Death Gun.

He pulled out his player screen and pulled out the map.

"This is Ken's location, up north, let's head out," he announced.

•••

We were at the door of the marbled palace, it was overgrown with plant life, mostly sapphire roses.

He sure loved sapphire.

We were at the door and a screen popped up.

Do you accept this quest?

Yes or No.

Kirito pressed the yes button, the screen disappeared and the huge decorated palace door creaked open, revealing the inside of it.

There was a sapphire carpet rolled out, it seemed to go on into another room.

We carefully took a step and cautiously began to walk inside.

We walked along the carpet which led to another door.

You sure you accept?

Yes or No

It makes me a bit nervous that it had to ask twice.

"Lets do this," Kirito looked at us with a smile. I was a bit taken aback he could smile at such a time.

But looking at our friends, I could see this brought their spirits up. And their confidence. I smiled along, and Kirito took a glance at me, and nodded, which I returned, before he pressed yes.

The door creaked open and far ahead, the carpet lead to a sapphire throne, in a gigantic marbled room.

This room had glass stained windows, some were broken, which caused vines and plants to enter the palace, growing inside. The walls and almost every inch was covered by them. This was definitely a abandoned palace.

I take another glance at the sapphire throne and noticed Ken dozing off in the chair. I almost didn't see him, he blended onto the chair perfectly, since most of his outfit was the same color as the throne chair.

"Seriously?" Kirito ridiculed. We walked further, cautiously though. He was really asleep. I could even hear him slightly snore.

His expression shifted in his sleep. He snorted then his eyes fluttered open.

"Ah, you finally showed up," he yawned. He stretched and he stood, with his hands in his hips, taking a look at each and very one if us.

"Shall we get started?" He asked with a smirk in his lips. He lifted his hand and the door behind us slammed shut.

We all began to get into our positions. He chuckled and did a movement with his hands and murmured an enchantment.

"Du-pli-ca" he murmured. It was something I've never seen. His body was duplicatinh, it was strange. It seemed like a mirage but out of his body came another and another. He was using clones.

"Not again," Klein grunted, with his sword up. I guess he's done this before. The duplicates all bowed before pulling out a rapier, similar to Asuna's, except, well, obviously sapphire. But one had a large sapphire sword in his hand. This should be our main target.

"Change of plans, Klein and Lisbeth, go against the clones of them, Silica and I will take on Ken," Kirito took out his legendary sword and Silica took out her long dagger beside him.

Although our roles were still the same, Asuna and I, were to be in the back, Asuna to heal and I to watch their backs.

Lisbeth and Klein did a duo move, Klein linked his arm around Lisbeth and swung her, Lisbeth slicing the clones in the process, turning them into pixels. They grinned at each other but soon frowned.

Ken made another batch of clones that headed their way, and they quickly took their positions again.

Kirito slashed and thruster his sword, aimed at Ken, but he seemed faster than before and gracefully avoided the attacks, and as he dodged he manage to get a few hits in.

Silica often switched with Kirito as he was being healed, barely able to keep up with Ken's fast pace.

I assisted by aiming my arrows at the duplicating clones. Our plan wasn't working.

"We need to focus on Ken more and less on the clones," I mumbled. Asuna overheard.

"As long as Ken is well, he keeps duplicating as the clones get KOed," she replied. She took a look at me and smiled.

"Kirito isn't right all the time," she winked before she raced towards Ken and leaped over Kirito and Silica.

"Asuna," Kirito called. Ignoring his calls, she stroke with extremely speed, which Ken blocked with his sword, barely managing to.

"I'm starting to like you," Ken smirked. Asuna bounced off and landed on her feet, in front of Ken, with Kirito and Silica behind her.

"Follow my lead," she murmured. Asuna sprinted towards him with a horizontal slash although he merely ducked low, dodging the attack, suddenly he was rushed by Silica and she sliced his chest before falling back to her place.

Asuna, Kirito and Silica now surrounded him, with him in the middle. Silica's slash only brought his HP by a quarter.

He raised his sword and murmured an enchantment.

"Wirl-win" he mumbled, swinging his sword with his two hands over his head, causing a whirlwind to form, causing their HP to lower and they seemed to be getting grazed with the attack, clearly getting wounds.

Lisbeth and Klein kept looking at the three, worried, almost not paying enough attention to the clones.

"Go!" I shouted. They looked at me questionably until I took my bow and arrow, one by one, striking the clones. They nodded before they rushed other.

At least I have something to do. The clones kept appearing as I destroyed one, two seemed to take their place.

I sighed in frustration and began to launch my arrows at a faster pace.

And soon they started charging for me, as I kept launching arrows in their chest, head, and just for fun, their crotch.

What? I was still angry at Ken. Imagining they were the real Ken helped motivate me and blow off some steam.

I took a glance at my party, and they were keeping up with Ken just fine. But this seemed too easy.

I thought it would be more difficult than this.

And as I had that thought, the palace floor began to rumble, and I heard the screams of Silica.

"This seriously has to stop," I heard her cry.

"Silica!" I heard Asuna call. I look again and I saw the overgrown plant life in the palace came to life, and had Silica dangling, grabbing her by her ankle, and she was desperately trying to keep her skirt from showing her underwear.

Ken used this to attack Kirito one on one while Asuna, Klein and Lisbeth tried to get Silica down.

While I had to deal with these clones. Its as if Ken had planned a scenario where he gets us busy while him and Kirito are fighting one on one. But why?

•••

(Kirito's POV)

I heard Silica shriek and saw her dangling from dome vines. This sure brought back memories.

Asuna, Klein and Lisbeth rushes to get her down, while I was fighting Ken one on one.

He began to chuckle.

"What's so funny?" I questioned, thrusting his sword at his head. He evaded the attack and I saw his sword acting funny. Before I knee it I was wrapped, and couldn't move.

His sword shape shifted into a whip, and wrapped around my body, tightly.

"Let's go, shall we?" He smirked before he revealed a door hidden some curtains behind the throne, and took me inside, I couldn't see a thing, it was pitch black.

"Kirito!"
