First day of U.A does not seem like the best kind as they expected it to be. They were already having a quirk assessment test. How strict.

"You think you can manage doing these? Since you're, you know, quirkless?"
(Y/n) asks Midoriya in a genuine way, following him onto the field.

Midoriya just smiles timidly, absolutely unsure on how does he tell them that he does have a quirk now but it is self destructive.

But he appreciates (Y/n)'s concern-

"I can always, kind of help you cheat-"

"(L/n)!"
Midoriya gasps while they reply with a nervous laugh.

"I'm kidding!! I'm kidding!"
They said with arms behind their head, covering up the fact they were maybe kind of serious about it.

"Bakugou how far can you throw a ball in middle school."
Said the already tired teacher, looking towards Bakugou.

"67  meters."
Bakugou said proudly, making (Y/n) scoff.

"I can beat that."
They said loud enough for Bakugou to hear.

"Get over here and let's have our fair fight right here-"

"Try throwing it with your quirk this time."
Aizawa said as he threw the ball at a distracted Bakugou, making him effortlessly catch it.

He raises an eyebrow at the teacher before walking up to the ball throwing area.

"DIE!"
He yelled out while throwing the ball with the help of his quirk.

"Die."
Midoriya and (Y/n) thought out in their heads that was followed by a sweat.

The ball flew through the sky, practically disappearing until a faint thump could be heard in the distance.
Hopefully it didn't hit anyone out there.

"HOLY SHIT 705.2 METERS!?"
(Y/n) exclaims out in surprise after seeing the results displayed by the teacher.

"Better believe it asshole!!"
Bakugou laughed out proudly while flipping them off.

"You're the asshole! Now move over and I'll beat it!"
(Y/n) replies with their own middle finger.

Midoriya sweats.
Right in front of the teacher? Are they serious.

"They're making it look fun!"
Someone yells out, catching the attention of the teacher.

And with that the atmosphere changes.
Tired people will truly change the vibe whenever.

(Y/n) nervously looks towards the teacher, who had a very eerie smile plastered on.

"Fun you say?"
The teacher asks, a slight chuckle escaping his lips.

That gave them a bad feeling.

"So you plan to spend your 3 years here, to have a good ol' time?"

"What happened to becoming heroes?"

"Alright then, whoever gets last in this test will instantly be expelled."
Aizawa grimly added, making everyone stiffen up.

"This is plus ultra. I expect you to overcome these trials, and climb to the top."
He ends, making everyone rather fired up but not exactly in a good way.

Because everyone wanted to stay in the heroics department.

"... fuck"
They cursed out quietly while turning towards their friend.

And just because of that, Midoriya already started trembling in fear.

"Don't worry Midoriya, the cheating offer is still open!- AKH"
(Y/n) offered at Midoriya before getting interrupted with a hit to the head.

"Hey? What the-"

"It's been long, but I didn't expect to meet you again to offer someone help on cheating."
A red dragon with stylish horns said with a smile.

(Y/n) blinks, putting the puzzle pieces together before gasping.
So that's what's different, his horns are just bigger from when they were kids!

Ryuaka Tokage.
Their childhood friend from before they moved to their current apartment!

"Holy shit- Ryu?! You got in!?"
(Y/n) yelled out completely forgetting about the test and the threat.

"Of course I did."
He bluntly said while (Y/n) excitedly looks at him.

"That's amazing! We really need to catch up after this!"
They said happily while he nods in agreement.

"Then we better focus to stay in and chat more."
He added in, reminding them about the test and threat of getting expelled.

"But how come I didn't notice you in class-"
(Y/n) continues on, still attempting to keep the conversation going while Ryu sighs.

"Oh right! Ryu Ryu, this is my friend Izuku Midoriya!"
They said while pulling Midoriya towards them.

"Midoriya, this is Ryuaka Tokage!"
They said before gesturing towards the one in front of them.

"Just call me Ryu, Midoriya, my family name makes me feel formal."
He said while holding his hand out, Midoriya nods and shakes his hand nervously.

"Yayy! Oh oh after this I have another friend to introduce you to! He's not in this school though!"
They said happily while Ryu laughs.

"Oh wow, my mom told me to make friends but you're doing my job for me."
Ryu said jokingly, earning a shoulder hit from the other.

Midoriya is now witnessing the origins of (Y/n)'s habit to bicker with everyone.
It was indeed something since childhood.

Sometimes he wonders. Can lighthearted bullying become a love language because they are definitely proving its existence.

Then the three of them froze abruptly, feeling a pair of tired eyes staring holes into them.

They statically turned towards the front, met with the sight of their teacher staring holes right through them.

Maybe they're done for, Ryu mentally blames it on (Y/n) while they merely smiled sheepishly at the teacher. Midoriya, simply froze out of intimidation.

And then they shook it off and started the test.

First up was the 50 meter dash.
(Y/n) practically beamed at this since it was their specialty. Iida as well but of course he doesn't show it.

And one can see why he was so confident in this, when he went up first he got 3 seconds, being one of the fastest already.

After a few others who use their quirks to their advantage, Midoriya soon was up next.

"If you need help, I'm still happy to help you che- WAH!-"

(Y/n) was immediately pulled back by Ryu, next to Uraraka who sweat dropped at the sight along with Iida who shook his head.

"It is no good to cheat (L/n)! Especially if helping others to cheat!"
Iida lectured with a wave of his hand while Uraraka nods.

"He's right. And even if you want to do so, don't say it aloud."
Ryu added in.

"Hey?? Don't teach (L/n) that!"
Uraraka yelps out followed by (Y/n) laughing.

"Oh oh almost forgot, Ryu these are Ochako Uraraka and Tenya Iida!"
(Y/n) said while gesturing their two newest acquaintances.

"Aaand this is Ryuaka Tokage!"
They continued while gesturing their dragon friend who responds with a wave.

"Yo. Just call me Ryu, family name terms make me formal."
He said while Uraraka nods with a smile, Iida taking a mental note of it.

All of their attention was soon averted onto the running track, seeing their friend getting ready to run. Up against, a strangely sparkling person.

Midoriya gets into position at the starting line, then boom! The signal to go flares off, making him run as fast as he could.

But he was quickly taken over by the other one, shooting a laser out of his stomach, making him fly off towards the finish line.

He got 7 seconds, which wasn't really bad for someone without a quirk!

20 students done, now only 2 more to go. The last two are,

"Ryuaka Tokage and (F/n) (L/n)."
The teacher calls out.

The two of them look at each other for one moment, before making the tension grow thick.

Yes. They're childhood friends, but they were... very competitive against each other.

"I won't lose to you, this time!"
(Y/n) said, walking over to the starting line with their thumb going over their neck in a cutthroat motion.

"That's what you said last time."
Ryu scoffed while following up behind them.

"WE WERE 7!"

"On your marks."
The teacher interrupts, not wanting to deal with their bantering.

And with that, both of them get into position, ready to fly off.

"Get set."
He continued monotonously, fake gun aimed towards the sky.

(Y/n) then transforms their entire body into a cheetah, bones cracking in the process while being relocated into a cheetah's anatomy. Their claws gripped onto the floor while they stared ahead.

Ryu huffs. Taking in a deep inhale, practically sucking all of the wind into his lungs then held it in.

"..."

"Go."
The teacher ends, firing the gun.

And off they go.
(Y/n) leaping forwards while Ryu exhales a puff of air he held in, strong enough to push him forward.

They dashed passed the finish line making it practically impossible for anyone to see who came first.

"2 seconds and 2.1 seconds!"
The robot that was documenting the running speeds said.

The class gawks at the speed, even Iida was surprised.

Ryu slides to a halt, barely keeping his balance while (Y/n) transforms back into their human form.
Both of them turning towards their teacher at the same time.

"Who finished first?!"
They both asked, sweating heavily and practically out of breath.

"Tokage, 2 seconds. (L/n), 2.1 seconds."
The teacher announces.

"LETS FUCKING GOOO"

"FUCKING NOOOOO"

Ryu cheers happily with a fist in the air while (Y/n) yells, head in their hands.

"Damn it! Your wind pressure is getting stronger. At least I was close!"
(Y/n) said in a salty tone while continuously punching his shoulder.

"Yea yea yea. We ain't done yet."
He said while pushing (Y/n)'s head away, far enough to make them continuously miss his shoulder.

"Woa (L/n)! Toka- I mean, Ryu! That was so fast!"
Uraraka chimed while running up to them, catching their attention which made (Y/n) stop.

"It was very impressive! I hope you both won't mind teaching me one day."
Iida added in with another hand wave.

"Thanks! And sure! We wont mind."
(Y/n) replied while Ryu bashfully turned away with a low thank you.

"Your quirk seemed amazing Ryu! Would you mind telling me more?"
Midoriya asked, notebook already out with a pencil, catching him off guard.

He glanced towards (Y/n) and they nodded in encouragement. Ryu squints at them, making them realise what he secretly meant, so they shrug as a reply.
He sighs in defeat.

"Oh, well. Elemental manipulation, specifically, wind, fire and ice-"

"And he can only use them through his mouth! Basically he's an actual dragon who breathes fire!"
(Y/n) interrupts, pointing towards their mouth, earning a punch to the shoulder by their dragon friend.

He knew his friend will butt in to add in info about his own quirk, but he won't lie it does flatter him about how enthusiastic they were about it.

"What they said. I fuel up by eating the separate elements. The dragon form is just a gene thing."
He ends while Midoriya nods, writing down notes as quickly as he could.

"Any... drawbacks?"
Midoriya asks again while Ryu points towards (Y/n), who looks at him confusedly.

"A migraine as painful as the one this thing gives me."

"I'll kick you into the sun."
