Gin: *still talks to Yuuichi* you're polite, friendly, and sweet.

Kariya: I'm right here!

Gin: Yuuichi-nii, did you hear that?

Yuuichi: 😅

Gin: I must be hearing things.

Kariya: 😑... 😏

(Your POV)

He looked at you in disbelief.

You shot him back an empty glare.

His eyes were soft yet you felt nothing but void. Gone were the days when you used to return his gentle look with your genuine smile. Gone were the times when your heart used to skip a beat every time he looks at you.

At this very moment, you stood in front of him, not knowing what to say, neither knowing what to do. You could clearly see that his look asked, '(Y/n), what have you become?'

A hand that firmly rested on your shoulder made you unfreeze from your current state.

Alpha.

"(Y/n). Finish him," Alpha's cold and monotoned voice earned a more valuable response than you can give Yuuichi.

"Hai," you said, locking your eyes at your target.

You lifted your hand and pointed a .5 magnum calibre at Yuuichi. He was unarmed. And completely under your mercy.

Yuuichi did not move. Nor did he flinch. His expression remained unchanged though at any moment you could end his life by pulling the trigger.

"Any last words?" were the first words you ever said to him since he got to Protocol Omega's headquarters.

"I love you..." Yuuichi almost whispered it, but only loud enough for you to hear. "...and I always will. No matter what happens."

Your hand gripped the gun tighter yet your finger would not move to pull the trigger.

"What are you waiting for, (Y/n)? Shoot him!" Zanark roared. He had been enjoying the show so far. But that ended when you weren't able to hide your hesitation to pull the trigger.

Your hand moved to the side, still holding the gun in mid-air, your finger moved, resulting in a deafening gunshot and a sharp cry of pain emitted from Zanark.

"You ungrateful... Useless... Thing!" Zanark growled as he held the abdomen you shot.

"Goddamnit (Y/n)!" Gamma yelled, rushing towards you with a rifle. But you knew it was coming so you shot him first, knocking Gamma down.

However you totally forgot about Alpha. He had pulled his own trigger and let his bullet swish free.

And the next thing you saw was Yuuichi dropping on his knees and looking at you.

Silence.

{Time skip}

(Yuuichi's POV) --nope I wouldn't let my sweet and precious brother-in-law die 😏

"Nii-san?"

My eyes shot open and I saw Kyousuke sitting next to me. I immediately got up but the pain in my abdomen made me cringe.

Kyousuke was immediately up on his feet, assisting me.

"How long have I been here?" I asked.

"A week. And I'm glad the doctors said you'll be discharged soon."

"And (Y/n)? Where is she?" I wasn't so sure Kyousuke could answer that question. But I gotta try.

"I have no idea. But the last time she was here, she told me she'll see you soon," Kyousuke had a worried look on his face and I stared into nothingness.

Since we found out that (Y/n)'s working for Protocol Omega, I couldn't get my mind off it. The missions carried out in that department would not be considered a walk in the park. Thus I have made my decision to go to their quarters and tell (Y/n) to quit the job.

But they saw me as a hindrance to one of their most trusted and excellent agents so they ordered her to kill me.

Yet the last time I was there, it was different. (Y/n) had clearly betrayed Protocol Omega the moment she hesitated to shoot me.

Where is she now? How I wish she was here with me so I could hug her tight and make her feel how valuable she is for me.

That I would never let her go. That I would bet my life just to make sure she's safe.

I've never felt so upset all my life. Perhaps just a glance of (Y/n)'s face could make me feel better.

Just a glance.

That's all it would take to make me feel relieved. I felt a tear roll down my face.

Then a warm hand that touched mine interrupted my thoughts.

I looked up.

And realized that Kyousuke had left and now (Y/n) is by my side.

I blinked more than once to make sure this isn't a dream.

She was still there. A look of unwarranted joy on her face and slightly stained by worry.

"Yuuichi I---"

I cut her off by pulling her into my embrace. Oh how I missed feeling her warmth against me.

My heart beat so fast and loud I could almost hear it. I held her tighter as she hugged me back.

"I'm sorry," I hear her say.

"It's alright. I'm glad you're okay. I'm glad you're safe," I almost panted as I closed my eyes, smelling her sweet scented hair and feeling her heart beat against my chest.

"I'm more glad you are."

I moved my head to bring her lips into mine. Tasting every inch of her mouth and not wasting a chance for fear that she may leave again.

She kissed me back and I felt lost in this moment that only she and I shared.

A moment of no fear nor worry. Just pure bliss and relief to be in each other's company.

As I pulled away, she put her hand on my face.

"I can't stay long," she worriedly said.

"I know."

"I will have to go and hunt Alpha down. He still has a score to settle with me after he shot you. I'm gonna shoot him more than ten times."

I took her hand and held it tight. "Don't go. Much blood has been spilled already. Please, just leave it."

(Y/n) showed me her beautiful smile. "If you say so."

I felt even more relieved. I ran my fingers through her hair and smiled at her.

"But can I hit Alpha... Just once?"
