(Your POV)

"Relax, (Y/n). This won't hurt," your crazy stepfather held the syringe in front of your face.

You struggled and pushed yourself at the back of the wall.

"Father please, no," you begged, tears in your eyes.

Your stepfather has been planning to use you in one of his experiments since he adopted you and you didn't want to have any part of it.

"I won't hurt you, I promise," your stepfather said with gentleness in his voice which you didn't trust.

You groped your hand on the wall then somehow you were able to grab the vase made of fiber glass on the desk.

Just as your psychotic stepfather was about to inject the sedative on you, you hit him with the vase on the back of his head, making him fall unconscious.

You immediately ran out of the house heading to the only place you know will be safe.

The home where Tenma lives.

You frantically knocked on the gate and shouted for help which to your relief, his Aunt Aki opened.

"(Y/n)? Is that you?" Aki said as she anxiously opened the gate.

"Yes, senpai. Help me, please. My stepfather wanted to sedate me again," you said panting.

"Get in here, quick. We will call the police," Aki said and took you inside the house.

"Auntie? What happened?" Tenma asked in a sleepy voice for it was almost midnight.

"It's your friend, (Y/n)."

Tenma was suddenly fully awake at hearing your name.

"(Y/n)? (Y/n)!" He rushed towards you and hugged you. "Are you alright?! Did your stepfather do anything to you?!"

You hugged him back.

"No. He was going to put me to sleep but I escaped."

"Thank goodness. Aki-senpai? Can (Y/n) stay here for the meantime?"

"It is best that she will. Lest her stepfather do something worse if she ever comes home," Aki answered as she dialed the police's number on the phone.

"(Y/n)," Tenma took your hands. "This will be your new home now. And I promise I will protect you from anyone."

"Thanks Tenma."

"(Y/n), you can sleep in the room next to Tenma."

"Thanks, Aki-senpai."

"Auntie, I uhh..." Tenma began.

"Yes Tenma?"

"I would suggest that (Y/n) sleep in my room."

Your face flushed red at what Tenma said.

"D-don't worry, (Y/n)! I'll sleep on the floor! I... I just want to be by your side... So I can protect you."

"Well, if that's okay with (Y/n)," Aki said.

You were still pretty scared and the idea of having someone to accompany you while you sleep sounded comforting.

"O-okay..." You said.

Tenma led you to his room and he put a sleeping mat on the floor.

"Good night, (Y/n). I'll keep you safe," Tenma said as you lay your head on the pillow.

"Arigatou, Tenma-kun. Good night," you said and slept.

{Next Day}

(Tsurugi's POV)

It's another ordinary day at school and soccer practice.

Until, Tenma and (Y/n) arrived together. And I noticed it's about the second time this week. Something must be up.

"Oi, Tenma, (Y/n)," Otonashi, our club counselor greeted them. "You're together again. Is something wrong, (Y/n)?"

They began to talk and I shrugged the matter off and went back to practice.

"A-re? Matsukaze and (L/n) are together again, eh?" I hear Kariya say with a hint of mischievousness in his tone.

"Now what is that supposed to mean?" Kirino asked.

"They are dating," Kariya said grinning at me.

I flinched back and frowned at Kariya.

"Just because they got here together doesn't mean they are dating. Come on, we got practice," Kirino said and dribbled the ball.

"But it's possible. Right, Tsurugi?" Kariya said, smirking at me.

"I have no idea what you're talking about," I said and turned away.

"And guess what, I also heard that (L/n) slept at Tenma's last night. Ooh, I wonder what could've happened..." Kariya said, still smirking at me.

I turned to him. "Look, I don't know what you're trying to do but I don't really care."

"Really?" Kariya raised a brow.

No... of course I care! I care about (Y/n). A lot, I thought.

"Zip it. Ignore him, Tsurugi. We need to practice," Kirino told me and I left with him.

{Time Skip-end of afternoon practice}

(Your POV)

You left with Tenma and as you were outside the school gate, Tenma suddenly exclaimed.

"Oh, no!"

"Tenma? What happened?" you asked.

"I forgot my phone in the clubroom! Oh, brother. I have to go back," Tenma worriedly said. "Stay here, (Y/n). I'll be very quick."

"It's okay. I can make it at Aki-senpai's since it's just a few blocks away," you said.

"No, it's too dangerous! Just stay here, please!" Tenma insisted.

"O-okay..." and with that, he ran off as fast as he can.

You leaned against a tree to wait for Tenma when who would pass by but Tsurugi.

"Oi, (Y/n). You going home?" Tsurugi asked.

Instead of responding, you just stared at Tsurugi surprised. For as far as you've known Tsurugi, he doesn't really talk much to anybody, let alone to you.

"Are you alright?" Tsurugi asked when you didn't answer.

"Oh, uhm, yes. I'm alright. I was just uhh, waiting for Tenma to come back so we can go home together."

"Are you dating him?" Tsurugi asked you out of the blue and it made you blush.

"A-a-re? N-no I'm not. I was just uhm, staying at his home for some... Reasons."

Tsurugi looked down as he saw you blush at his question. He was about to say something when a hand tapped your shoulder.

"(Y/n)..." you turned around and was frantic when you saw that it was your crazy stepfather.

"Y-you..." you began to shake and fear crept within you.

"Come on, (Y/n). Come home. I promise I won't hurt you."

"No..." you said and stepped back until Tsurugi held you on the shoulders.

"Get back here you little..." your stepfather's eyes turned fearsome as he pulled you by the collar making you shake with fear.

Tsurugi, sensing that something's not right, pulled you back.

"Hey! What are you doing?!" he asked and sounded as if he didn't care to whom he was talking to.

"Stay out of this, young man," your stepfather said with a snarl.

"You're hurting her. Let her go!" Tsurugi grabbed your hand but your stepfather's fist landed on his face, knocking Tsurugi off.

"Stop!" you yelled.

Just as your stepfather was about to punch Tsurugi again, a police siren was heard, making him run away.

You helped Tsurugi up.

"Oh, God, Tsurugi I'm so sorry!"

"I'm okay," Tsurugi said as he stood up and put a palm on his bruised cheek.

"Come on, let's take you to the hospital," you said and walked with him.

"But what about Tenma?" Tsurugi asked.

"Don't worry. I'll give him a call."

(Tenma's POV)

Dang it. I had a hard time looking for my phone at the clubroom. Turns out it was on the benches at the field and luckily, it was still there when I checked it.

I rushed back to the gate, panting, and when I looked, (Y/n) was no longer there.

I began to feel agitated. Oh, where's (Y/n)?! Please don't let anything bad happen to her. I opened my phone and just as I was about to call her, I received a message.

5:44 PM>> (Y/n): I'm at the hospital with Tsurugi.

What?! I snapped my phone off and ran.

Two things worried me.

First, if something bad had happened to her.

Second, if Tsurugi will finally confess to her and I'm too late.

Tsurugi: what? It's not yet done?

Gin: Unfortunately yes. There will be a sequel. 😓

Tenma: there has to be. Since Reader-chan has not chosen from any of us. I hope she chooses me.

Tsurugi: Pfft.

Gin: you wish the same thing don't you Kyou?

Tsurugi: Shut up.

Tenma: thank you for requesting, Bueno101. The sequel shall be updated soon. And it's going to be shorter, right Gin?
