Little did the young American-Japanese girl know about the situation she's currently in. It's just like what Bruno Mars said in his song, Marry You, "Is it the look in your eyes? Or is it this dancing juice?" Only that the singer didn't really care whether it's the alcoholic drink or simply the interesting look in the girl's eyes.

Right now the young girl might want to go for the latter. She's not sure if it's only her imagination or the pair of apricot eyes are just doing their normal thing. Not that it actually mattered, but a corner of her mind made it so.

She sat across the pale-skinned, blue-haired male. His eyes piercing into her very soul, like twin demons wanting to devour her whole. Or at least that's what only she had thought. She looked back at him, occasionally averting her gaze to her untouched food. Her body leaned slightly forward and both her feet pushing the floor. From an angle across the table, she looked either she might fall backwards or she might stoop forward.

Emi made a series of total recall to how this happened. It was only yesterday when Tsurugi asked her to meet at the cafe. Her eyes blinked in confusion. She remembered thinking that this might actually turn out like a date but her mind could not recall how she was able to say yes. But that is not important. The only thing that mattered to her at this moment is how she could find an acceptable excuse she could give the ace striker for leaving so soon so she can let go of the chaos her mind is experiencing, at the same time, without offending the young forward's feelings.

"Are you alright?"

Tsurugi's voice startled the hell out of her, making her involuntarily let go of the force she exerted on both feet and almost making her fall from the chair.

"Don't you like the food?" the forward asked worriedly. His cold eyes slightly showed a hint of worry as he narrowed his eyelids a bit and raised a brow.

Emi tried to open her mouth to respond but all the reaction she gave was an obvious gulp. A lot of questions flooded her mind at the same time. Did she disappoint Tsurugi? Did he sense her nervousness? Does her posture seem embarrassing? What is she going to do? She can't just be rude and leave without saying a word to Tsurugi. No, not someone like him who holds a special place in her heart.

"I'm sorry," Emi finally said quietly as she looked at the floor, feeling defeated by her archenemy---her low self-esteem.

"Why are you even apologizing?" Tsurugi flatly said as he sliced a piece of his food with a knife then brought it to his mouth with a fork.

Another wave of embarrassment washed over Emi. She wanted the floor to break open and hide her from further embarrassment, now that Tsurugi sounded annoyed by her unresponsiveness and awkward impulses.

"Excuse me," Emi slightly bowed and left to go to the restroom, a world she could escape from her worries and anxieties.

Inside the ladies' room, she quickly turned the tap and washed her face. She stared at the mirror and began to breathe heavily as her sapphire and light aqua eyes struck the mirror (RIP the mirror. Sorry for being bad at descriptions. I tend to get lazy in choosing the right word sometimes). However, her heavy breathing was not the one that caught her attention, but the slight discoloration of her normally paled-skin made her gasp. She just turned blood-red with embarrassment.

Panicked, she turned the tap again and washed her face once more. She went inside one of the cubicles and allowed herself to calm her nerves. She quickly rolled up the sleeves of her shirt that reached her wrists to allow a bit of air to go through.

Tsurugi on the other hand had made up his mind to follow Emi in the restroom. Of course he didn't really enter the ladies' room, that'd be embarrassing. He was actually facing the door, a question mark dangling on top of his head wondering what takes Emi so long and if she's alright.

He awkwardly raised a fist in the air, motioning to knock on the door. A frown plastered on his face afterwards followed by a slap on his face from his other hand. What was he even doing there in the first place? He put his hand down and turned to leave. Just then the door opened.

"Tsurugi?" Emi's voice made Tsurugi stop in his tracks. He slightly turned his body but not his head, lest Emi notice the faint blush on his cheeks.

"I'll uhh... wait for you outside. Don't worry about the bill," he answered and continued walking.

Emi gulped again. She decided to follow shortly after Tsurugi had left. While walking, she kept repeating in her head her apologetic statement to Tsurugi for being so unresponsive, for the wasted food, and for being a nutcase. (Nah, the author is the nutcase)

Outside the cafe, Tsurugi sat on a bench at a park across it. Emi walked in his direction and sat next to him. Somehow her nervousness had washed away and the open air seem to give her a relaxing feeling.

"I'm sorry, Tsurugi. But thanks for a great time," she said with a slight smile.

Tsurugi hummed in response and turned to face Emi. The look on his face could not be told what emotion he felt. Either he was wondering if Emi did really have a great time though she never touched her food and never talked to him back at the cafe, or how Emi could smile like that despite the awkwardness that happened. Either way, the smile on her face was one of the priceless images Tsurugi would always want to see.

"It's fine," he responded as he closed his eyes, masking all the positive emotions he felt at finally seeing Emi smile.

"Isn't this the park where we first met?" Emi wondered out loud.

Tsurugi opened his eyes and looked around. Indeed it looked like the park where he first met Emi when they were kids. An idea popped in his mind. "Perhaps we should have a date here next time instead of the cafe. This area offers a more comfortable zone for you."

"Hm?" Emi's eyes widened a bit. Comfort zone? Date? She didn't expect the wrong thing after all. The idea of staying in the comfort zone made her feel at ease. However, she might still be out of it if Tsurugi is with her. She is aware that the forward is definitely outside her comfort zone, close enough to the friend zone, but she might be willing to move him slightly a bit closer.

"So is it another date then? Next week?" Tsurugi asked hopefully, though his face is slightly averted to other directions but Emi.

"I guess it is then," Emi answered, smiling.

The next thing Tsurugi did made her heart skip a beat. He took her hand in his and slightly rubbed his thumb against the top. "I had a great time. Thanks Emi."

Gin: Short.

Hidan: Yeah.

Gin: Bad.

Hidan: Yeah.

Gin: And slightly OOC in the end.

Hidan: Hell yeah.

Gin: I just wanna curl up and die.

Hidan: Want to be a sacrifice?

Gin: Yes.

Hidan: *takes out scythe*

Kakuzu: Hidan, you sick bastard. That's your sister!

Hidan: But she said she wants to die...

Kakuzu: *lifts Gin like a sack of potatoes* Come on, let's go home.

Gin: No, senpai!

Hidan: Neesh. Anyway, I know this was unnecessary. But apparently Gin's crazy mind is kicking in. So my dear lovely Isha, Gin wants to thank you for entrusting her your beautiful OC and she apologizes for all the mistakes. She owns nothing but the plot. Bye~^^
