Gin: It's Taiyou's turn!

Taiyou: tsk... fine.

(Second Person POV)

You are one of the defenders in Arakumo Gakuen and now you're in the middle of an intense match with Raimon Jr. High. It's the second half by now.

You have noticed during the match how Matsukaze, a midfielder in Raimon, was a bit distracted and worried about your best friend's health. That's right. You're best friends with Arakumo Gakuen's team captain, Amemiya Taiyou. But to be honest, you know that it's not only Matsukaze who seemed so worried about Taiyou's health. You were worried too.

You had suggested to Taiyou that he should take some rest but he simply responded with a sweet smile and said, "I'll be alright. I've been waiting my whole life to play true soccer like this. And I will play with all my strength and with all my heart."

You immediately understood that there's no stopping him. You secretly admire his willpower to play the soccer you both love. You are aware that Taiyou's strength will lead your team to victory but you didn't want to see him get hurt.

You will do anything by any means necessary to protect this person whom you love more than a friend.

The middle of the second half went on swiftly with the scores tied. You noticed Taiyou's breathing heaved as he approached you with the rest of the team.

"We can't win without unleashing my keshin," you hear him say. "That's why I'm gonna need all of your strength to help me."

He's going to make us do that special technique, you thought. The rest of the team were very much ready to oblige to their captain's plan and you did too.

The kickoff started with Raimon's captain, Shindou dribbling the ball towards Taiyou. As soon as Shindou got near, you started putting in your strength together with the rest of the team into Taiyou, resulting into a strong Keshin Drawing and sending Shindou backwards on the far side of the field.

As Taiyou released his Keshin, Sun God Apollo and shot the ball with Sunshine Force, you saw three players from Raimon merge their Keshins together, giving birth to a new Keshin they called Matei Gryphon.

The fight was really close, until everyone saw that Matei Gryphon overpowered Taiyou's Keshin and broke past Sata's Keshin again, scoring one point ahead of your team.

The end of the second half whistle blew. Raimon won. You fell on your knees and supported yourself with your hands while breathing heavily.

You see Raimon's players rejoicing over their victory. We lost, you thought. You glanced at Taiyou and saw him in the notion of falling.

Involuntarily, you ran towards Taiyou's direction and instantly caught him before he hit the sand.

"Taiyou!" you yelled as you held him in your arms. Matsukaze also ran towards you and Taiyou.

"I-I've used up all my strength. I can't move," Taiyou said, sounding hopeless. He looked up to you and a faint blush appeared beneath his eyes.

"You'll be alright. Everyone's here for you," you assured him.

"Taiyou..." you hear Matsukaze say.

"I've finally played the true soccer I love," Taiyou said. "But, what am I gonna do now? Tenma, (Y/N), I still want to play soccer!" he was in the brink of tears.

"Of course we can still play soccer! You're gonna get well and we'll play again!" Matsukaze said.

You and Matsukaze helped Taiyou up. Just then, Raimon's captain fell on the ground unconscious, making the rest of the team look shocked and worried.

(Taiyou's POV)

(at the hospital)

I slowly opened my eyes and realized I was back at the hospital again.

"Hey, you're awake," I hear a sweet voice beside me. I turned and saw that it was my best friend (Y/N). I was glad to see her. Ever since we became friends she was the person who would always stay by my side. Despite my condition, she had always been there for me.

"Hey, (Y/N)... you're here," I said. I really like her. But I didn't want to confess my feelings for her for that might ruin our friendship. I will cherish whatever our status is right now. Spending both good times and bad times with her all the time is enough for me as of the moment.

"Of course. I will always be right by your side whenever you need me. How do you feel?" she smiled that kind of smile that is so captivating.

"I feel captivated..." the last word came out before I could stop it. I saw (Y/N) blush a little.

"Uhh... what?" she asked.

"Nothing. I'm okay of course! It's just that my right shoulder hurts a little. Can you check if there's a bruise?"

"What? Why would I do that? I'm not a nurse!"

"Oh come on. You're my best friend after all!"

"Fine..." she said. She then slowly moved to check my shoulder but as soon as she got near me, I wrapped her head with the blanket.

"Hey! Taiyou! Let me go!" she yelled. I laughed so hard. She struggled but her movements just made the blanket wrap her more. Uh-oh.

"I'll kill you once I get away from this!"

I'm still laughing but I noticed that she couldn't find her way out of the blanket so I tried to help her.

"H-hey, don't move. Let me uhh, help you out," I said between laughs.

"I will really kill you twice! You baka!" she said in a muffled voice under the blanket.

Geez, why is this blanket so big? We were both trying to get (Y/N) out of the blanket when someone entered the room.

"Hey, Taiyou..." it was Tenma. "Uhh, what the heck is that?" he asked pointing at the white blanket that seemed to cover something that struggles underneath it.

"Uhh, n-nothing!" I said and continued finding the edges of the blanket to get (Y/N) out.

"Amemiya Taiyou, you'll be dead once I get out of here!" (Y/N) yelled.

"Is that (Y/N)?" Tenma asked. He approached us.

"Um, yeah?" I responded.

"What happened to her?" Tenma asked.

"Stop asking questions and help me get her out of the blanket!" I said.

"Okay---okay."

Tenma and I helped (Y/N) out and once she was already out, I saw her hair was everywhere yet she still looked beautiful. Her eyes were glaring at me. She hit me with the blanket.

"What the hell was that for?!" she demanded.

"Sorry!" I said but my face couldn't control the amusement I felt.

"Hey, (Y/N), you okay?" Tenma asked.

"No!" she said. She then stood up and went to somewhere in the room to fix her hair.

"Anyway, uhm, Taiyou I just dropped by to see how you were doing..." Tenma said.

"I'm doing great as you can see," I said.

"Well I wouldn't believe that if I hadn't seen you doing that to (Y/N)... since you were in the hospital," Tenma said.

"Naahh. I'm fine," I said. "By the way, how's Shindou?"

"He's okay. His surgery was a success, but, he needs to rest for a month," I saw Tenma look sad.

"Oh, that's so unfortunate. But I still believe you'll win the finals," I smiled brightly at Tenma.

"Thanks Taiyou... well, I'll be going now."

"Okay. Thanks for stopping by."

As soon as Tenma left, (Y/N) got back to her seat next to me. Her arms crossed and her eyes showed anger. Oh, (Y/N), you're still pretty even when you're angry.

"What?" I innocently ask her.

"Why do you always do that to me?" she asked.

"Huh? Hey, I don't always cover you with a blanket."

"No, I mean... Why do you always make fun of me?"

"Just... Look, I'm sorry... It won't hap------" and then my vision all went white for (Y/N) has covered me with the blanket. Oh, shit...

(Y/N's POV)

My turn. Now he'll realize how it feels to struggle underneath a stupid blanket. I tried to wrap the blanket tightly on him so he would have a hard time coming out.

"Hey, (Y/N)! Cut it out! I'm sorry, okay!" he yelled underneath the blanket.

I pretended not to hear him while keeping him under the blanket. "I'm sorry, are you saying something?"

"Let me out of here!"

"What?! I can't hear you," I was smiling from ear to ear when suddenly, the blanket flew and covered both of us. Whoa, this guy is still strong.

I laughed as I saw Taiyou's surprise-stricken face under the blanket. "hahahaha... you should see your f------"

I stopped for a moment... processing what's going on... wait... Is Taiyou kissing me?

Somehow I managed to blink then I realized that Taiyou had pulled me close to him and smashed his soft lips onto mine. He tasted sweet.

When he broke off our kiss, he said, "I-I'm sorry (Y/N)...urg..." he sounded annoyed.

I didn't know what to say. We just looked at each other underneath the blanket.

"Look, I know you're my best friend but for what just happened now, I think I couldn't hide my feelings for you anymore. (Y/N), I love you. Not as a friend, but more than that." He looked guilty.

I showed him a sweet smile. "It's okay. I love you too..."

"What?"

"You heard me right... I love you too..."

After hearing that, he pulled me again to another kiss under the blanket.

We heard somebody enter the room again but Taiyou just kept kissing me and he wouldn't let me go.

"Uhh, Taiyou? (Y/N)?" It was Tenma again. "Well, uhh, I'm just gonna put this food here that I forgot to give you Taiyou... I uhh..."

I moved away from Taiyou's kiss. "Hey, it's Tenma..." I whispered.

"Don't mind him..." he whispered back and kissed me again.

"Uhh, okay..." we hear Tenma say. "I'm just gonna leave this here... bye..." Tenma said and left.

We giggled as we broke off our kiss. "I'm so lucky I'm in love with my best friend," Taiyou said while smiling sweetly at me. He then uncovered the blanket.

"I feel the same way," I said. "and thanks for removing the blanket. It was getting hot underneath there..."

"Haha, right..."

Gin: Hmm, lucky blanket...

Taiyou: Lucky me...

Gin: Yeah, I know right... thanks for shining for me Taiyou...

Taiyou: I'm not shiny!

Gin: Please, Yuuichi-kun?
