Kurama Norihito ~ One More Chance
Gin: Another rare request to be done.
Kariya: Who requested?
Gin: My new sis, tsurugi_kagami . She requested Kurama-senpai.
Kurama: Don't call me senpai. You're older than me 😒
Gin: oops. Anyway, enjoy reading~

(Your POV)
"Hold still, baby, I'm almost there..." you grunted as you shoved the hair that dropped on your sweaty forehead with your free hand.
"Damn it..." you cursed under your breath as your hand delved deeper into the lion cub's throat.
Finally you felt your hand touching some kind of hard material. You grabbed it firmly yet gently before carefully removing it.
The cub let out a low growl before breathing air in. You sighed and looked at the flattened soda can that you just removed from the poor thing's throat.
"Stupid people. Throwing inedible stuff in the cages," you muttered as you threw the can into the bin before washing your hands.
You went back to the table where the lion cub is laid, still trying to regain its composure and panting.
You gently rubbed its back before calling the zookeeper in.
"Thanks, (Y/n). You're the best," the zookeeper said with a bright smile as he took the cub in his arms.
"Don't let those people throw stuff at your cages again. Lest we end up with a poisoned one next time."
"You're right," the zookeeper said before shuffling through the door. "And be cautious of your next client."
"What?" you ask in confusion but the zookeeper has already left and a new client has entered.
He had mint green hair and a python slithered around his shoulders.
You sighed as you saw your ex boyfriend enter. It's the third time this week.
You're not sure if the python is really sick or is he just wanting to see you. Either way, you're not in the mood to deal with him.
"Good morning, (Y/n)," Kurama greeted you with an unsure smile drawn on his face.
"What did Rile eat this time? Your cereal?" you said in a sarcastic tone, not looking at him.
"Whoa. Is that how you greet your clients? I didn't hear you say that to the zookeeper. Is he your new boyfriend?"
You ignored his question and put your mask on.
He gently set Rile on the table for you to examine.
"Healthy scales. Steady heartbeat. Jaws intact. Why are you here?" you turned your attention to Kurama who had taken Rile hack on his shoulders.
"I'm going to be honest with you, (Y/n). I still love you. Please. Can we fix what we have broken?" Kurama almost pleaded, making you sigh and look away from him.
It's been a month since your breakup. That time you caught him going out with another girl and it was the same time that you swore you're gonna keep him out of your mind, heart, and life forever.
But since then he had kept on asking for your forgiveness, visiting you in your clinic for no reasons.
And you are someone who couldn't easily forgive him. The hurt was still there. And it would take more time for you to fully heal.
"How many times did we have this conversation? And how many times do I have to make myself clear?" you said, voice sounding strong yet inside your heart was breaking all over again.
"How many times do I need to ask your forgiveness? (Y/n), please give me one more chance. I promise I will never break your heart again."
"Get out," you said sternly.
"Please, (Y/n)?"
"I said get out. This conversation is over," you removed your gloves and headed to the backdoor before locking it.
You hear Kurama leave at the sound of the other door closing.
You sighed to yourself and held your hand on your chest, sinking the pain down.
{Time Skip brought to you by Gin's insomnia}
It was midnight. You were comfortably sleeping. Until your phone rang. You popped your hand outside the blanket and groped for your phone on the bedside table.
With eyes half-open, you checked your phone and an unknown number was calling you.
"Hello?" you said in a very sleepy voice.
"(Y/n). I need your help. Rile seemed to have lost consciousness!" said a familiar voice on the other line.
"Kurama?" you wondered at the same time remembering that you deleted his number a month ago. "I don't have time for this. Please let me sleep."
"I'm serious! Rile has not been moving an hour ago. I'm already at the door of your clinic. Please!"
You were suddenly wide awake. You put on your coat and hurriedly put your hair up before heading downstairs to your clinic.
It was raining hard and Kurama stood outside the door, wrapping the python in a cloth and he was wet from head to toe.
You took him in and immediately got Rile from him while you turn on the lights and get your stethoscope.
The python was no longer breathing. You tried opening its jaws with thongs and you saw that some of its muscles were already lifeless.
You turned to Kurama who is now shirtless and hanged his wet clothing by the coat hanger.
"Is he okay?" he asked with anxiety.
You didn't answer him. Instead you bent your head and slightly shook.
Kurama had slumped himself on a chair and his hand roughly ran to his wet hair.
You walked towards him. Rile has been his companion for almost three years. You felt sorry for him.
"I'm sorry," you said, wanting to reach out to him but something inside prevented you.
Kurama was staring at the floor, his face was full of distress. Something tells you that he deserved this for hurting you but deep down, you know that you still have feelings for him.
If there's anything that keeps you from giving him another chance, it's the fear of getting hurt again.
Your thoughts were interrupted when Kurama suddenly pulled you in his arms.
You stood there, unable to hug him back, yet by the odds you still did.
You can't hear him sob but you can feel that he's crying. You closed your eyes, hugged him tighter then let go.
"Stay the night. It's still raining," you said before leaving to dispose of the dead python on the table.
Kurama hesitantly followed you upstairs as he took a glance at Rile's body before giving out a sigh.
You washed your hands and decided to go back to bed but before you could, Kurama stood your way.
"(Y/n)," he almost whispered, making you look at him in the eyes.
"D-do you want to take a shower?" you ask but Kurama responded by pulling you into his arms again, making you let out a surprised gasp.
"Do you... Truly not love me... Anymore?" he asked.
You stood frozen in his hug and asked yourself the same thing. Do you truly not love him anymore?
"I don't... Love you anymore..." you whispered. Kurama pulled awa from you and held your shoulders then your chin.
"Really?"
You can't take it anymore. You cried and buried your face in his chest.
"N-no... I... Still love you~" you punched your fists on his chest, tears flowing incessantly out of your eyes. "And I hate it... I'm not supposed to feel this way anymore. I'm supposed to forget about you!"
Kurama ran his hand on your hair. "I'm so sorry, (Y/n). It was wrong of me to hurt you. I never knew how lucky I was when I had you. It was truly stupid. But I want you to know that you are the best thing that ever happened to me. I will never hurt you again."
He leaned closer to you, making your face just centimeters away from him. "Shall we try again?"
Your heart melted. You can sense the sincerity in his apology so you smiled at him. "Yes. We shall."
Kurama put his hand on the back of your head before pulling you in his warm lips.

Gin: Dododododone! And I'm back from the seminar! Thanks for being patient, tsurugi_kagami !
Kariya: Psshh. More like you DITCHED the seminar.
Gin: You don't want me around? 😥
Kariya: Not exactly but I thought you were on a date with K----
Gin: *covers Kariya's mouth* not in front of the kids please 😅
Kariya: Tch. Anyway, Inazuma Eleven belongs to its rightful owner and Gin-senpai doesn't own anything but the plot. Bye~
