"What's wrong with you?"

"Nothing," the orange-haired male responded quickly as he turned the wheel.

A deep sigh was heard from the bright-eyed Haruna Otonashi, as she averted her gaze to the road. The former Holy Emperor, Gouenji Shuuya, has held a banquet at the most glamorous hotels in town and all his friends and soccer teammates are invited. It's his birthday and all guests are obliged to wear something casual. At first she felt overdressed, having worn an olive green long gown with a slit on one side, matched with a bracelet and necklace both made of cubic zirconia, she looked beautiful.

Usually her personal guard, aka her driver to the banquet would compliment her for what she's wearing, having known him for five years already. She has her personal driver but today, Reigo had insisted that he take her there himself, for reasons she could not fathom.

Haruna put one lock of hair behind her ear. She wanted to ask Reigo what's bothering him but it seems that the male was too busy driving with a frown on his head. She decided to shrug the matter off when the car came to a stop. Reigo quickly got out and opened the door for her but he wasn't looking at him. Five years of being her personal guard, the two of them had gotten pretty close. But not too close. Tonight Reigo was indifferent. He felt like a total stranger to her.

"Glad you made it," a familiar voice said and as Haruna looked up it was none other than the birthday celebrant himself.

Gouenji Shuuya wore a black tux with his emperor's necklace over his head. "Happiest birthday, Gouenji. You look great in a tux," Haruna said with a smile.

Gouenji took her gloved hand and gently planted a kiss on top of it. "Please. Call me Shuuya. And I think green is my favorite color now, eh?"

Haruna blushed at the compliment. "Shall we?" Gouenji offered to lead her into the hall.

A loud scoff was heard from Reigo along with slumping himself back into the seat and turning the engine quickly, making it produce a gaudy roar. "Have fun Miss Otonashi! I'm just gonna go and spend time ALL BY MYSELF. Don't worry about me! I'll be ALLRIGHT AS F*CK!" after yelling, the car took off at top speed.

Haruna dropped a sweat as she felt worried at Reigo's sudden outburst. He's being childish again for some reason that she could not understand. "I'm sorry about that, Shuuya. Reigo's not feeling too well."

"It's alright but he can come inside, you know. He was Genda's adopted brother after all. He's invited."

"Parties are not really his thing," Haruna lied. She knew that Reigo loved parties. Especially occasions like this. But that was the most acceptable excuse she can give Gouenji for now.

"If you say so."

"Please call me Shuuya. And I think green is my favorite color now eh?" Reigo said in a mocking voice to no one in particular as he took another sip from his almost empty bottle of sake. "You're such a liar. Taking her attention like that by making green your favorite color just now... JUST NOW! And by planting your lips full of contagious germs on her...her...NGR-NGR-NGR!" he slapped the top of his hand multiple times while making an angry face, like a psycho would.

"Sir, are you alright?" the store owner asked worriedly as he approached him with the additional bottle of sake he ordered.

"Do I look ALRIGHT to you?! Why don't you answer that... that... stupid question yourself, hmm?!!" Reigo roared. He looked around and his eyes caught the look on the faces of other customers who stared at him as if he had grown three heads. "What are you all looking at?!" with that the other customers stopped staring at him. Reigo turned to the waiter. "Here's my payment. Keep the change and let it be your tip. Thanks." He lifted the new bottle of sake and headed out the door, slowly trying to balance himself for the alcohol had just rounded itself in his head.

The waiter sighed in disbelief. However he was thankful that Reigo had not caused any more trouble and that he had paid in full with a tip.

~time skip~

Haruna stood outside the hotel, waiting for Reigo who had slipped himself into who knows where. It has been an hour since the party ended and now Reigo had not come to pick her up.

She gave out a sigh of frustration and slowly walked down the aisle of the hotel's entrance and headed to the streets to look for him. Just then a group of guys started following her as she walked, she tried not to look back and quicken her pace but the guys still walked faster. Finally, they gave up walking and ran after her. How could a girl in high-heeled shoes run away from three men chasing her? They grabbed her by the arm and threatened her to have their way with her.

"Let go of me!" Haruna fought against their grips but it was no use.

Just as they are about to hurt her, there was a blinding light. A car with its headlights on hit a nearby post, making the men stop and look at the sudden commotion. After a moment, an orange-haired guy got out of the car. He had a half-empty bottle of sake in one hand and he looked really drunk. The men tried to ignore him and they started pulling out knives to cut Haruna.

"Hey!" Reigo called out as he tried to balance himself towards the men. "That's not... hic... the proper way to hic... treat a lady," he walked towards them but eventually stumbled himself in the process.

The men smirked at seeing Reigo's discomfiture. They believed that the drunkard could not fight against them due to his state.

"Reigo!" Haruna yelled.

"Shut up or we will cut your throat!" one of the men threatened as he held a knife to her neck.

Haruna whimpered and closed her eyes, feeling helpless.

"Mystical Dragon Fire!" Reigo roared and a wave of flames emerged out of his hands. However his aim was off. It hit the road instead. "Damn it," he muttered and tried once more. "Mystical Dragon Fire!" This time it hit one of the men, giving Haruna the opportunity to escape from their grip. Seeing that Reigo has turned into his guardian form, the men fled for their lives, thinking that he was a demon.

Reigo released his guardian form and fell unconscious on the road.

"Reigo!" Haruna rushed towards him and dragged him to the car.

When they reached home, Haruna dragged him again to the living room and have him sit on the couch.

"Ugh. I can't believe I had to said no to Nii-san when he told me to have a maid and butler to run up the house. Now I have to fix this myself!" she grunted and slowly lifted Reigo on the couch.

Haruna groaned as he smelled sake all over Reigo's shirt. She tried her best not to make a heat-up face while slowly undressing her personal guard. She was halfway through already when Reigo moved and grunted, "Stop.... Stop... Whoever you are... I know you're grateful to me for hic... saving your life... but... I'm already hic... in love with someone else... I don't have room for another one..."

Haruna just rolled her eyes and continued undressing him.

"I said stop it, you hic... bitch!"

Haruna's mouth opened wide in shock. She wanted to punch him in the head for calling her that but the next words Reigo said stopped her. "Who the hell are you?! You're not my boss... She's more beautiful than you. You hear that? Otonashi Haruna hic... is more beautiful than you! You are no match for her! Although she wore green tonight, I still think she'd be more beautiful than you. Green stinks. And that Gouenji guy back there? He was lying. He was hitting on my beautiful boss! Damn it hic... Get away from me! I don't want my boss to come home seeing me like this. With a hic... whore hovering over me so get out!"

He called her a whore. A bitch. But that didn't matter to her. The confession was enough to make her feel at ease. So that was why he was acting that way earlier tonight. She had clearly forgotten that Reigo despises anything green. She decided to let him stay that way until the morning. For now, she'll clean up the mess in the living room.

"Are you leaving?" Reigo asked with his eyes half-open. "If you see a beautiful woman with blue hic... wavy hair and wearing a green gown, that's... that's my boss. Please tell her I love her hic... for a long time now..."

Haruna just stared at him with her eyes widening in shock. Reigo loved her for a long time? Since when? And why didn't she ever had a clue about it before?

She decided to ponder on the matter the next day.

~time skip~

Reigo groaned as he came to consciousness. He saw himself lying on the couch. Smelling sake, he grabbed his shirt and brought it up to his nose followed by a wince. He took off his shirt and decided to go up to his room given to him by Haruna to change.

Just as he stood up from the couch, Haruna came down the stairs.

"How are you-----"Haruna began but soon stopped when she saw Reigo shirtless. "Oh for goodness sake, please go and change."

Reigo covered his glory with the shirt but he didn't wear it. "I was about to do that."

"Breakfast at the garden is ready. I'll wait for you there," Haruna said with a quick smile, leaving Reigo confused. He headed to his room to wash and change clothes.

Reigo wore a tight shirt and shorts that reached under his knees. He made his way to the garden and saw Haruna sitting in front of a table laden with food and drinks.

"How are you feeling?" Haruna asked the question she was about to ask a while ago.

"I'm okay. Just a little headache, Otonashi-sama," Reigo replied as he took a seat.

"Where were you last night? You didn't pick me up at the banquet."

Reigo's face flushed red in embarrasment as he tried to recall last night's events.

"I'm sorry, I---uh.... got to a bar... and sort of lost my way back to the banquet," he said truthfully.

Haruna nodded in response. "I see. Would you like coffee or tea?"

"I guess tea would be great to relieve a hangover, thank you."

"Suit yourself," Haruna handed him the teapot before continuing. "Ima go straight to the point."

"Hmm?" Reigo asked, looking up from his cup of tea.

"Have you had any girlfriends before?"

Reigo blinked twice, unsure of how and what to respond. "Uhh... no... w-why?"

"Okay. Just asking. We're the same. So how about we have our first dates of our lives?"

Reigo involuntarily spit out all the tea in his mouth, showering it all over Haruna's face.

Haruna just closed her eyes before wiping all the tea off. "I guess that's a no..."

"Uhh, n-no! I'm so sorry! That's a yes! Wait... but... why?"

"You were drunk last night. And unfortunately you have said some things to me."

Reigo dropped a sweat, his face turning even redder than before, if that is even possible.

"Okay?" was all the orange-haired male could say as he settled his back on the chair.

"Or should I say, fortunately, you have said some things to me," Haruna covered her eyes with the shades and looked away to mask the blush on her cheeks.

"I'm sorry, Otonashi-sama... You're my boss but... To feel... this way... should be illegal."

"Illegal? There's no law that says such thing. Or perhaps you're just setting it illegally in your own feelings."

"Well... yes."

"Alright then. Get changed. We have a date today. And if you say no, that's what I would call illegal."

Haruna stood up and went inside the house. Leaving Reigo to playfully punch his fist in the air, yelling yes.
