Chapter Fourteen › Stunned
Benedict's POV
"So?" Tom asked from the other side of the phone as I straightened my tie.
"So, so what?"
"So, I assume Ben, that you've called me with the bearer of good news?" I, all of a sudden, forget that nature of ringing Tom.
"Oh! Yeah, right." I grab my suit jacket and slip it on as I talk to Tom. "Me and Ivy are coming tonight. Mind sending some transport to her place?"
"Send me the deets?"
"Yeah, course." I smile and Tom goes quiet. "What is it Tom?"
"Nothing..." Lucy.
"... Lucy is coming by the way."
"Yes!" Tom cries out.
"With her fiancée so don't expect anything." Tom groans.
"I wasn't going to expect anything. I was going to expect everything!" I chuckled and grab my phone, it still on loudspeaker.
"Well, just, be careful. Jensen seems like a tough man who won't let anyone touch her. And I don't think we want the night to end in a fight." Tom laughs while I put on my coat and scarf.
"Oh come on Ben, you know I'm careful!" I place the phone to my ear and turn off the loudspeaker.
"Oh, right. Especially the time you had slept with that girl when we were teenagers?"
"That wasn't an accident!"
"That wasn't an accident!"
"You didn't know who she was." I locked my door and lowered my voice. "And... I didn't know who she was either." I wish I did know her.
"Ben, I told you, think about the now." I nodded slowly and took a deep breath.
"Tom, I'll see you soon. I'll send you the deets to her house, I'm heading there now."
"Okay coolio. Will see you soon! I'll tell Chris to bring out his hammer and see if you're mighty enough to weild it!" I laugh. "
"See you later Tom!"
"Bye! Chris-" And the phone cuts off.
I then make my way to Ivy's flat with some adrenalin, since I'd have to make my way up the trillion stairs she had...
Ivy's POV
I kept fidgeting with my dress.
Was it too short?
Was it too revealing?
Was it too black and mysterious?
"Is it okay?" I lift my heels up to Emily who nodded.
"Yes Mum. It's the fifth time that you've asked me now!" She giggled and ran her fingers through her aurburn hair.
"Sorry Em, It's just-"
"You've never been out with a guy in a long time before I get it." I smile slightly and patted my hair. Emily walked a few steps towards me. "Mum, are you... okay?" I frown.
"Okay?"
"It's just... yesterday. You and Aunt Lucy." Giving her a smile, I neatened her hair a little bit.
Like a proper mother.
"I'm fine... just... one word of advice Em, never give up your life for a man who'll you'll never see again." She frowned within an instant and we hear a knock on the door.
"I'll get it Mum." Emily rushed to the door and I neaten my hair again, ensuring that I looked presentable.
"Hey, Emily is it?" It was definately Benedict.
"Yeah, hi!"
"Hi, nice to meet you finally."
"Nice to meet you too Benedict right?" He chuckled.
God that laugh.
"Yes. Can I..."
"Sure!" I hear his footsteps get closer. "Mum's just..."
I notice his reflection in the mirror and I slowly turn around and admire what he wore.
He looked damn right posh at that.
Both of us look at each other with shocked faces, probably because we couldn't believe that this was happening or because...
We couldn't believe our eyes.
"Um... Shall we get going Mum?" Emily whsipers and I break from my gaze.
"Yeah, yes, yes. Go grab our coats Em and make sure your window is closed."
Emily rushed out of my sight and I take a step to the right.
"W-wow..." Benedict gulped.
"What? Do I look bad?" Immediately, Benedict protested.
"No, no. In fact, you look stunning..." There was a pause. "... beautiful in fact..." I feel my cheeks burn.
"Thank you." Tucking a lock of hair behind my ear, I clutch my purse. "A-and you... look... nice." He simpered.
"Thank you."
"Presentable, unlike work." He and I chuckled and he tucked his hand into his trouser pocket.
"Mum. Here you go." Benedict moved forward.
"Allow me." Emily looked at me and I subtly nodded. She had placed my coat into Benedict's hands and I slowly edged forward and turned around.
As I was helped to putting in my coat. I had the same feeling as that night.
One I couldn't seem to get rid of.
"Right then, let's set off. Shall we?" Benedict held out his arm to Emily who smirked and then squealed.
We all left my flat and carefully made our way down the stairs, myself not being able to get rid of a horrifying image in my head...
