Chapter Four › Status?

Benedict's POV

I rushed out of her office, and then out the front doors.

Rapidly and heavily, I began to breath, bowing, with my hands on my kneecaps.

That was a killer.

Okay, it was allright.

Placing my hands on my hips, I breath out - it was longer and heavier than before.

Suddenly, my phone began to vibrate in pocket continuously.

I stuffed my hand into my pocket and pulled my phone out, juggling it in my hand. Luckily for me, it was Tom.

I answered with a happier and much more relieved tone.

"Hey Tom." Swerving past the crowd of people, I clutched onto my suitcase and still talked.

"Hey Ben! How was the interview?" Sighing, I didn't answer for a moment. I couldn't stop thinking about Ivy. At least, I remember that being her name. "Ben?"

"Yeh, yeh. I went and it was, okay."

"That tone doesn't sound at all reassuring Ben." My mouth drooped.

"Anyway, Tom how ya doing?"

"I'm fine, actually..." There was a slight pause. "I'm in London." Now I could smile.

"Really? No filming going on?"

"Yep." He began to laugh. "We can finally have that Christmas we've wanted together." I simpered.

"Man, I can't wait Tom."

"Actually Ben, I was thinking why don't we meet up now?" I frowned, chuckling.

"Are you sure? What if fans begin to harass you?"

"Nah, I love my fans. They keep me going, besides, I think they understand respect."

"Allright Tom. Where do ya wanna meet?"

"Where are you?" I looked around while narrowing my eyes. I spot a Costa and the name of the road.

"I'm... near a Costa on Oxford Street." He laughs.

"Well then Ben, there's is our rendezvous point." Tom's breathing escalates. "I'll catch a cab and meet you! See ya soon Ben. Taxi!" The phone goes down and I rub the screen, stuffing it back into my pocket.

I assume that Tom will be a while, since Oxford Street isn't considered a free-to-move place.

However, I would still look forward to seeing Tom.

Tom Hiddleston, an actor - my friend.

It had been a long while since I had seen him and after this rather stressful interview, I was grateful.

After pausing for a few minutes in the spot, I made my way into Costa and my eyes feasted on the long queue in front of me.

It was either this, or attempt to find another coffee shop in the ice cold weather.

Which would be more responsible?

Stay inside - obviously.

I stepped into the line swiftly as it would have just grown before my eyes and we don't want that, do we?

For a while I fiddled on the spot, trying to keep myself warm as the cold breeze had shifted inside.

I made my way to the front of the queue within a few minutes, which was interesting.

"Can I have a coffee, large and an earl grey?" I ordered what Tom preferred. He loved a bit of Earl Grey with a splash of milk.

"Thank you sir. £5.90 please." Handing the woman the change, I received ten pence back and patiently waited.

About five minutes later, I finally grabbed my cups and made my way to a table in the corner.

Then I waited.

Waited and waited for Tom to come, and after some time, I recognised his figure slip through the door and I waved my arm.

"William!" I shouted.

This was our own code name we had worked out when we were outside near fans of his.

"Timothy!"

And cue mine.

Tom rushed up to me and I slid out from the table, throwing my arms around him and we tapped each others backs firmly.

"Nice to see you." I smiled.

"Nice to see you too Will." Both of us separated and Tom and I sat down opposite each other.

"How have you been?" I leaned onto the table.

"Good, good. You?" Tom sighed and removed his sunglasses, tucking them into his shirt.

"Yeh good. Finally got away for some time." Tom and I chuckled. "It is good to see you." I smiled, Tom reeling his trolley under the table. And then, he took a sip of his Earl Grey, before coughing. I began to laugh.

"That's what happens when a cup of tea sits there for about two hours." Tom smirked and I grabbed attention of a waitress. "Excuse me. May you, reheat this or make another one? I'll pay extra." She nodded and took the cup. But then, she paused, gasping. Tom rolled his eyes and I tucked an extra few quid into her pocket. "Please keep quiet." I whisper.

"Okay..." Swiftly, she moved away.

"Sorry Tom."

"Nah, nah. It's fine. I don't mind. The fans are all here for support. They keep me going. As I said..." Tom leaned forward. "... They respect privacy."

"Here you go." The woman placed the tea onto the table, Tom grabbing the handle and I grabbed mine - even though it was cold.

"Cheers..." He lowered his voice. "... Ben." We both smirked.

"Cheers... Tom." Clinking our glasses, we both sipped and Tom gave out a sigh of relief.

"Nice cup of Earl Grey that is." I tense my cheekbones and I notice a familiar figure stood by the counter.

It was Ivy.

I just started at her, Tom catching my gaze.

"Who is she then?" I frowned, my stare breaking.

"What?" Tom nudges his head back.

"You, eyeing a woman. That's a first. Well, not back when we were young adults." I sink back.

"Yeh well... we all make mistakes." I didn't remember much from our night. Well, I didn't know who she was. Her name was never mentioned.

Only her friend's.

Olivia.

"Invite her over." I scoff.

"No." Tom smiles and slowly gets up. "N-no, Tom. Tom." He gets up and I tense my cheekbones, slowly getting up with him.

"Excuse me, sorry." Tom taps Ivy and she turns around with Lucy. "I believe you know my friend here." He points at me and I shyly wave.

"Yes... I do..." Ivy folds her arms. "Oh and I have some news." She holds out her hand. "Congratulations, you've got the job." I freeze.

Did those words just come out of her mouth?
