------------------------------------------

Benedict's POV

Me, Emily and Ivy had a fairly boring journey on the way back.

Emily had fallen asleep on her Mother's arm, while Ivy and I kept ourselves quiet.

"Em, hun." Ivy whispered to Emily, who groaned.

"Hm..."

"Time to get up, we're here. We're home now." Emily rubbed her eyes and they opened at me. I gave her a smile and she smiled back.

"Okay Mom." She slowly got out of the car and I helped her get out.

Ivy placed one foot in the pavement and I held my hand out to her.

I didn't want her to think we were moving too fast or her employee having a certain likeness for her.

I just wanted to be kind.

Ivy glanced at my hand and pressed her own into it. "Thank you." She whispering swiftly.

I pulled her towards me and she nearly tripped on exiting and so, she used my shoulder for balance.

Her face was right up to mine and she swallowed, pausing. As if she was... studying.

As did I.

Those eyes. Her skin. It reminded me...

"Mom, can I have the keys?" Ivy still faced me, but nudged her head slightly.

"Hm?"

"Key Mom?" Emily held her hand out and Ivy released her grip from my shoulders.

"Oh right." Ivy reached into her bag and gave Emily the keys. "Be careful Em!" She shouted before Emily rushed inside.

"I... think we should, join her." Ivy nodded and I chuckled.

I darted towards the door and opened it for her. "Ladies first." I smiled and Ivu giggled.

"Have fun walking up these stairs with me." I bowed my head and bit my lip.

No.

Not the stairs.

The stairs from hell.

I'd have to walk extra slow if I didn't want myself to break a sweat.

That's it Ben.

Ivy stepped up onto one step, holding her dress.

I gazed at the stairs in horror.

Bloody hell.

Taking a deep breath, I straightened my suit.

And gradually made my way up the stairs behind Ivy.

"Enjoying?" Ivy simpered. I took another deep breath a extenede my index finger, bowing down.

Holly hell.

My thighs.

"Yeah, just... a second." She placed her hand around her hips.

"I have a dress. You have a suit, you should actually be in front of me, not lagging behind!" I looked up at her face.

Ivy turned her back on me and I lowered my voice, it was almost a growl.

"If you want quick." I jumped up the next couple of steps and grabbed Ivy by her hips and threw her over my shoulder.

"Hey! You can't do that!" Ivy began laughing.

It was nice to hear it. "Put me down you doofus! Otter, put me down before I call Loki to beat your ass!" Ignoring her I heaved up the stairs and held her legs.

"Is it this way?" She pointed the other way.

"That way." I smirked and finally we reached her door.

Leaning over, I placed Ivy back on her own two feet.

Immediately, she punched me.

"Ow!" I rubbed my arm. "What-?" Ivy pointed at me.

"That was for being childish! Since when do... grown men carry woman up the... stairs." Her voice quietened. "Never mind... erm..."

"What is it?" I frown, Ivy tucking a lock behind her ear.

"Nothing... I... just reflecting."

"On what, may I ask?"

"I..." She fiddled with her fingers. "... feel like we've met somewhere before. I just, don't know where." I sighed.

"Me too." Ivy lifted an eyebrow. "You seem familiar." We paused for a moment and Ivy broke our stare.

"I better... go in, hoping that Em hasn't locked me out." Hesitant, Ivy pecked my lightly on my cheek. "Thanks..." She bowed quickly and turned the handle, and coincidentally, it was open.

And I stood outside her door, remembering and questioning myself.

We both felt familiar with each other.

Was it possible we met on my worst night?

Ivy's POV

It was the morning and I had physically and properly dropped Emily off to school.

I was now at work, my head down on the table, exhausted.

Benedict was right about this damn hangover.

Suddenly, someone knocked on my door and I groaned.

"Who is it?!"

"It's Ben, can I...?" I saw his silhouette outside to door and I patted my hair.

"C-come in."

Benedict opened the door and I rested the back of my head on my chair.

"Tired are we?" He asked and I nodded. He moved closer to me and fiddled his strap. "Feeling okay?" I smiled slightly.

"Yeah. Just want to jump on my bed right now." I rubbed my head and Benedict chuckled.

"If only." He managed to yawn out. "I better get back to work then." I nod.

"Yep." Benedict turned around and I stopped him. "Ben!" He simpered and faced me.

"Yeah?"

"I wanted to say... thanks for yesterday." He smiled broadly this time.

"You're welcome." However, Benedict didn't turn back, instead he moved slightly closer. "I-I actually want to ask you something too..." He stuttered. I smirked.

My gosh, a man wanting to be an actor afraid to ask me something?

"What is it?" I ask curiously.

"I thought, would you like to... grab a coffee after work?" Randomly, I grab a pen and begin to spin it into my hand.

"Right..." I sigh out and Benedict bowed his head.

"Maybe we shouldn't I mean-"

"No." I say firmly.

I should give this guy a chance. He seems nice and he helped me deal with Liv. "After work, meet me here... we can take it from there."

I smiled.

He smiles back.

"Thanks." Benedict backs away. "See you later boss." He chuckles and closes the door.

I wanted to find out where out familiarity with each other came from, at least then, I'd know something.
