Only a few days passed before BDubs was confirmed to be the son of Demeter. This occurred via a somewhat translucent, glowing sickle (as well as a few sheaves of wheat) appeared above his head before vanishing when it was noticed by the other campers that were sitting around the campfire with him.

He was almost immediately sent to the Demeter cabin after this, and it was definitely an interesting building to look at.

The roof of the cabin was constructed of growing grass and has tomato vines growing on the walls. It had wild flowers and roses growing on the porch. The cabin color was a light shade of brown. It was in between Hera's and Athena's cabins, and inside, there was a grassy floor and an oak tree in the middle of the cabin that held up the ceiling.

He was greeted by Pearl, who turned out to be the head counsellor of the cabin- which made sense, as she was previously the only kid residing in the Demeter cabin. It was also his first chance to get a closer look at her, as he had only seen her from a distance before.

She wore a baggy mint green t-shirt made out of what appeared to be a thin, shiny material that looked uncomfortable to wear, and it had sunflowers stitched onto it in multiple places. A white hoodie with dirt smudged onto it in random places was tied around her waist, and she was wearing denim shorts and a pair of sandals that had definitely seen better days. She also had a necklace around her neck, the end of which being tucked under her shirt.

Pearl looked him up and down with an intrigued expression. "Oh, you're BDubs! So are you... like..." She gestured around the cabin vaguely. It was at this moment that BDubs first noticed her very noticeable Australian accent.

"A son of Demeter, yes. Apparently." BDubs said with a shrug. "Pearl, right?"

"Yeah! Nice to officially meet you." The brunette said with a grin, holding out her hand. The shorter of the two reached out and gingerly shook her hand, smiling awkwardly. Despite the fact that he often introduced himself and Etho, he wasn't actually great with new people. "Man, it's great not being the only person in here now." Pearl looked around thoughtfully before pointing to one of the beds in the cabin. "You can sleep there."

"Oh. Okay." BDubs glanced back at Pearl before walking over to the bed and dropping his very light backpack (he didn't have much stuff) onto it. "What now?"

"Uh- well, how did you... discover your powers?" His half sister (she was BDubs' half sister now, he guessed) asked curiously, tilting her head with an intrigued expressions as she took a seat on a battered wooden chair that had been painted red and white kind of like a fly agaric mushroom of sorts.

"I mean, I was just talking to my friends Etho and Gem, and holding onto a plantpot, and when I looked back at it, the plant was overgrown and glowing? That's when Gem- she's a satyr- brought us here!" The brunette finished brightly. "What about you?"

"Oh, cool. Well, I accidentally locked my family into their house by, uh- growing sunflowers over the door? By accident?" Pearl said with an awkward laugh. "My stepbrother was super mad."

"You have a brother?" BDubs queried.

"Stepbrother." The Australian girl corrected him firmly. "And, yes. He's here too, actualy- Grian Gotts-Dreamslayer, son of Apollo- his mum had a double-barrel name as well, he didn't get it from Apollo obviously. Basically, our parents- my dad and his mum- met when we were on a holiday in Spain and they kinda- dated long distance for a while before moving us all to America and getting married." Pearl finished, shrugging and fidgeting with the chain of her necklace. "Grian's okay, I guess, but it's neat that I actually have a sibling who's blood related to me now!" She said cheerfully, grinning.

"Mhm." BDubs smiled as well, noticing with somewhat intrigue and happiness that she had the same gap between her front teeth as he did.

"So- who's that Etho kid you mentioned?" Pearl asked, somehow having managed to have moved and sat upside down in the couple of seconds he'd looked away, holding onto the end of her necklace so it wouldn't fall out of her shirt.

"Oh- he's my best friend! He's super cool, he moved to America from Canada when he was like 7, and we've kinda been best friends since he joined my school when he was like 8. He's an absolute nerd, but he's great when you get to know him." BDubs finished brightly.

"Cool, cool. By the way- I noticed you sat next the spy at dinner when you first got here. What's that about?" BDubs frowned slightly.

Yes, Cleo had said under 50 words to him and Etho in the few days that they'd been here, but he'd still been making an effort to become friends with her, and she seemed cool enough.

"She seemed lonely. And I don't think she's a spy." Pearl shrugged.

"Well- who else would it be? She's literally Hades' daughter. Besides- we got news that Hades was planning an attack on all demigod camps, and that was like a week ago- on the day that she went out of town to do something 'important'." Pearl raised both eyebrows with a skeptical expression, sucking in a breath through her teeth. "You have to admit that's kinda suspicious, right? Definitely spy-like."

"Well- coincidences are a thing, ya know? And- what's that about an attack on all demigod camps?" Pearl half-straightened, now lying across the chair in an awkward manner that surely couldn't be comfortable.

"Apparently it's coming soon. Hades doesn't want the gods to have any backup- like they did with the Percy Jackson guy a couple decades back. Chiron and Dionysus have been going crazy trying to find some way to strengthen the border, but... that's no use since its been confirmed that there's a spy here." The light haired brunette said with a frown.

"Huh." Strengthen the border? How would they even do that?

"But enough with all that gloomy stuff- welcome to the Demeter cabin!" Pearl finished with a laugh.

Also Pearl and Grian are step-siblings in this :D (I couldn't think of a way for them to be biological siblings because Pearl's godly parent is female and Grian's is male so like ?)
