Jonathan's pov
I was getting bored of watching re-runs of old cartoons. Mom wasn't due to be home until late so I decided to have some me time.
I got up and ran to my room. I lifted up my mattress with one hand and grabbing my weed stash with the other. Attaining the substance I walked back to the couch where I set up my blunt. After it was finished I lit it and took a deep inhale.
After a few puffs I was on cloud nine. This time it felt different though. Things felt more eery, like there where heavy shadows lurking at the edge of my vision.
I was about to shrug it off when I saw something. There on the top of the speaker was my grandfather. I recognized him from the pictures. However the pictures didn't show the rotting flesh that fell off him in places, the organs spilling from his stomach, the maggots crawling over every surface of his body going in and out through the gash in his head and the place where his left eye should be. Blood covered him and his clothes where shredded and hung off him, revealing his ribs which jutted out of his skin.
He looked at me and laughed. I began to panic and my fight or flight instincts kicked in and I rolled off the couch, punched out the nearest window, and launched out it.
After a while of running I realized I was lost in the dense forest behind my house. Little voices clouded my head and I began to forget all common sense I had. Forgetting the things my mom taught me I began to walk in the direction I somehow knew was towards the train tracks.
The night was peaceful as I trudged through the forrest. The only sound was my feet hitting the leaves scattered around. A groan broke the silence. It was a sound no human could make and turning I saw it wasn't human. My grandfather came marching up behind me.
I bolted and eventually came to a steep slope. All I wanted to do was go to sleep and forget everything but something pulled to me so I shrugged off my tiredness and slid down the slope.
Here I was. The old tracks that no longer carried trains laid out in front of me. As I stood I saw silhouette that I swear flashed me a smile which glowed in the moonlight. Slowly he got closer and I felt shivers rack my body. I took a step back and nearly slipped. The tracks where wet.
"What a nice night for a walk. Mind if I join you?" He asked as he walked passed me. "Do what you want." I said faking my bravery. "Good because I was going to do." This guy was strange. He seemed no older than me but used the speech pattern of a old man.
He was taller than me with black hair that matched the night and shimmered in the moonlight. The smiled he flashed me was almost blindingly white and his eyes looked completely black in the night. I was weary of him and kept glancing at him out of the corner of my eye.
Still my gay thoughts, that where another reason I got bullied, wouldn't go away. "Not to annoy you but what's a young guy like you doing around here at this time of night?" He spoke. It took one blink. Just a split second. And he was on the other side of me his mouth near my ear. "Are you waiting for a train?" He whispered.
Pleasant shivers racked my body but I pushed them away. "No. I'm just minding my business and you should to. I just saw something so horrible your just lucky you didn't see it." I said still not running away for some reason.
"Look son," he said speaking like a older man again. "Sure you've see something horrible but I'm worse. I could make you relive your worst nightmares, I could ruin you in the worst way. Or we can be best friends, like two pees in a pod." He paused and moved closer to my ear. "Or I could make you scream if you wanted." He whispered in a husky voice.
Again pleasant shivers ran through my body. "I can give you all the power and money you could ever want. All I need is your soul. A simple payment. Just come with me down these tracks." He said holding out his hand.
Some impulse came over me and I reached out and took his hand. "Where we going?" I asked.
