Chapter 16: Another Day, Another Portal

The morning has risen and Bayonetta woke up and saw her jewel on her chest sparkled. She noticed her mother came and helped her and her partners. Bayonetta got up and saw that Jeanne was asleep and she kicked her. Bayonetta spoke to her. "Hey, Jeanne. Wake up. You don't want me to bring out Gomorrah again." Jeanne suddenly got up in a hurry. Jeanne groaned as she got up and stretched. "I'm awake, I'm awake. What is it?" Bayonetta explained to her what happened. "It seems that our mother gave us a little help while we were sleeping."

Jeanne smiled at her. "Yeah, I just noticed our jewels have some sort of glow. Great. Thanks, mother. Where to now?" Bayonetta admitted to the portals as she spoke to Jeanne with clarity. "Whatever the portal takes us I guess. I think this portal might be the very last one." Jeanne was relieved to hear that. "Goodness, I hope so. Because if we continue this any longer, I'm going to barf." Bayonetta had her hands on her hips. "At least we had fun." Jeanne rolled her eyes as she scoffed a bit. "If you call that fun."

Jeanne looks at Dante and everyone else. Jeanne was shaking her head, seeing them. "Damn, these guys are really heavy sleepers." Bayonetta saw a shimmer of a portal commencing. "I think I see another portal." Jeanne looked around in confusion. "Really? Where?" Bayonetta spoke to Jeanne as she pointed to where it was located. "Far off where the mirror is. Actually, the portal is the mirror and it looks like it's already closing!" Jeanne shouted to the rest of the group. "Everybody, wake the hell up! The portal is closing!" Everyone woke up in alarm.

Dante yelled as he looked around. "Whoa!" Trish was surprised as she looked drowsy. "What the...hell?" Nero groaned as he was confused as to what was going on. "What?" Jeanne pointed at the portal. "Guys...portal!" They looked at the portal in the mirror. "Ohhhh..." Dante got up along with the others. "Let's go!" They all ran towards it. Bayonetta looked over to Jeanne as she smirked while she patted her back. "Well done." Jeanne was pleased to hear that. "Thanks. I'm glad you appreciate my yelling." Bayonetta nodded her head. "Now, let's see what Narthex has for us this time."

They jumped through the portal and saw that they were in a different location that Dante sort of knows. Trish was utterly upset and confused about where they ended up at. "Where the hell?" Dante held up an index finger. "Say no more, sister. I know where we are. Welcome to the Netherworld AKA the demon world AKA..." Bayonetta and Jeanne spoke in unison. "Hell. We know." Dante accepted it. "Oh, okay." Jeanne looked over to what Hell had to offer. "Which apparently has a carnival that's filled with demons and angels." Dante was a little skeptical about that. "Wait, what?"

Dante looked and saw demons and angels riding carnival rides. Trish was a bit weirded out about that. "Okay, that's weird." Nero scoffed as he chuckled. "Really, Narthex? A freaking carnival?" Narthex spoke on the intercom. "Aww, you didn't like my decisions, pipsqueak?" Trish smirked as she crossed her arms. "It's about time the guy spoke. Most villains would talk all day, but this one he's really non-talkative." Dante nodded his head. "I know right."

Nero was a bit upset. "Look, Narthex. I don't know what kind of villian you are a clown or a mastermind, but really though? A demon and angel infested carnival? And I'm not a pipsqueak, damn it!" Narthex spoke to them. "Aww, you are just adorable. Anyway, Bayonetta...darling." Bayonetta was hearing him as she had her arms crossed. "I'm listening." Narthex spoke on the intercom. "Why did you reject last night? Honestly, I'm a good person to talk to."

Bayonetta spoke to him as she looked upset. "Clearly, you're not. You keep hiding in the shadows, you're delusional as hell and you probably change your underwear once a week. You're nothing, but a man who likes cowering behind a small corner." Narthex spoke on the intercom. "You're a lot smarter than you look, witch. Defeat the demons and angels and I will show you I'm not a coward if you come to me."

Bayonetta spoke to him as she was shocked. "And can't bring my friends along? That's absurd!" Narthex replied back on the intercom, annoyed. "Fine. Fine. If you want to play fair, I'll play fair. See you then, love." Bayonetta spoke to herself. "Oh, I can't wait to kill you."
Narthex heard her from the intercom as he decided to speak. "I love you too, witch." Bayonetta was really annoyed with Narthex. "Oh, f*** you and get out of my life already!"

Narthex stayed quiet. Nero felt that he didn't leave and spoke to the intercom. "We know you're still here." Narthex turns off the intercom. Jeanne rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. "Weirdo." Dante straightened himself a bit and got ready. "Now, let's kick some angel and demon a** so we can go home." Trish nodded her head as she wanted it to be over. "Yes, please."

Bayonetta looked over to the others as she was curious. "Why are you guys in a rush? We need to take our time having a good time on the rides and a carnival? Sounds fun." Jeanne sighed deeply. "Let's go have fun then." The team ran and Dante was playing shoot the angels and demons game. Trish was playing dunk the angels and demons in the spikes of death.

Nero was riding the spinning vortex. Jeanne was on the ferris wheel shooting bad guys and Bayonetta was on the Angelmania (Which is similar to the Himalayan ride at the real carnival.) Everyone was fighting the angels and demons until there were none of them left. Trish smirked as she exhaled deeply. "Well, that was really easy." Nero scratched his head. "Because Narthex was running out of ideas." Dante chuckled softly. "What an idiot."

Jeanne panted a bit as she was taking a break. "Now, we just wait till the final portal opens." Bayonetta smirked while fixing her hair. "That was fun. I hope we can do that again someday." Dante grinned at her. "We will, but it will be different if you know what I mean, Bayo." He winks at her and she winked back. Trish was disgusted a bit as she rolled her eyes. "Ugh, get a room!" Nero shielded his eyes a bit. "Please!" The portal opens as it makes a whirring sound.

Jeanne exhaled sharply while looking at it. "Well, this is it. Once we go in, there's no going out." Dante nodded his head. "Unless we defeat Narthex." Trish spoke to them with confidence. "Then we go home." Nero grinned at Trish. "Finally." Dante sighed deeply. "It's been fun, guys. I hope that we never do this mission again. It was tiring and stressful."

Trish was honestly tired of going through portals. "Severely stressful." Nero spoke to them as he wanted to get it over with. "Oh my god, can we go in already?!" Bayonetta nodded her head as she hated wasting time. "Yes, can we go in already?" Jeanne agreed with them as she looked to the others. "Let's get this over with." Dante sighed. "You're right. You're right. Let's go in." Nero was glad that he said that. "Thank you." Dante sternly looked at him. "Nephew, don't make me shoot you in the foot."

Nero raised his hands up, hoping that won't happen. "I was kidding." Dante smirked at him. "That's what I thought." Trish: "Will you both just shut up?" Jeanne spoke to her as she smiled. "Thank you, Trish." They all started walking together towards the portal. Trish grinned back at her. "Yep." The final portal closes behind them.
