1st place in the guessing spree for my age goes to @MikaJougasakiChan with a guess of 13 yrs old. She was the closest so far, and in a way guessed my age because I am turning 13 next month. And because she was the closest, this one shot will be a bit more special. It will be in some sort of Hunger Games and Beyblade Burst crossover.  So, I present, Orochi x reader.

You were known to be incredibly pretty. Anyone who laid eyes on you couldn't tear them away. But your beauty didn't help your situation. Inside the arena, looks don't matter. And now that you were in the final phase of the Games, it became much more dangerous and deadly. 

You came from District 7. The lumber district. People from other districts might think you had more firewood if you lived in this district, but they were wrong. You still had to buy firewood, and winter nights were fiercely cold. It wasn't common there for people to die of hypothermia. You sometimes had to take extra tesserae to feed your family. You were one of the strongest lumberjacks in the district, most fearless and stone faced, but when your name was announced at the reaping, you felt fear. 

Now, you were alone in the arena. The legendary announcer for the Games, Claudius Templesmith, had called a feast, and you couldn't resist. This was your chance to get your hands on something that could put the odds in your favor. You walked to the Cornucopia, and found a major weapons stash. Oh, the axes! Made of wood, metal, and other materials you had no name for! 

You knew this was your chance.  

You flashed out. You felt someone chasing you, but knew better. 'Don't look back, Y/N. Looking back signs your death sentence,' you thought. You intended on bringing honor to your district by winning the Hunger Games. You swore your mother before she...left you. 

You felt tears spring into your eyes, but you wiped them off. It would have to wait. The Cornucopia was up ahead. You ran in, took an ax, and turned to face your opponent. It was the male tribute from District 3. A Career. These were the most feared contestants. You hoped to never encounter one, but here you were. His token were a pair of headphones around his neck. Of course his token would have to do with technology. He was, after all, from the technology district. 

He took up a metal ax, while yours was wooden. "Is that really gonna take me down? It's wood. I thought you would know of axes. Lumberjack," he scoffs at you. You grit your teeth at his comment. "Simple is sometimes best," you say simply. He charges at you, and you simply hit his head. He falls unconscious at your feet. You chuckle and take everything you can. You can't help but thinking how attractive he is...

'No! Don't focus on that! If you focus on his positive side, it makes you weak. Just...keep moving!' you scold yourself. You keep moving.

Orochi woke up in the Cornucopia. 'What am I doing here? Why aren't the others here?' he thinks to himself. He stands, but a sudden pain in his head prevents it. He looks outside. Snow falls hard. A gust of wind blows in, causing him to wrap his jacket tightly around his shoulders. He senses movement behind him and turns to the source. 

He sees the silhouette of a person behind him. It's too thin to be a male, but too tall to be a younger tribute. A girl. "You finally woke up. I was hoping you be out long enough for me to get out before you woke. But the storm prevented it. You gonna finish me off?" her voice asks. It all comes back to him. The feast, the Cornucopia, the girl with the wooden ax. 'The lumberjack!' he suddenly thinks. He grabs a wooden ax and sees she has a metal one. 

"Just wait till I get out of here. My friends must be looking for me! When I get out and find them, we'll hunt you down!" he claims. But you move in so swiftly he doesn't register the moment you disarm him, and put the blade to his throat. 

He only utters a squeak. 

"Don't kill me," he begs you. You chuckle. "For a Career, you're weak. What do they call you? What district?" you demand. "O-orochi Ginba. District 3," he says weakly. You pull him along and tie him to the inside if the Cornucopia. "You're my bait now. As long as I have you, the Careers are mine," you tell him. 

He tries to break free, but you bound him too tightly. Night falls, and not trusting your bait, you wait till he sleeps. But your eyes grow heavy. 

So, so heavy...

'What am I doing? Letting a lumberjack get in my way. I have to get rid of her. She's a distraction,' Orochi thinks. 

He takes the ax from your sleeping hand and aims for your head. But he stops. He is frozen by how beautiful you look. You're face seems more beautiful when you're asleep. He lowers the ax and lets it fall. 

Away from your face. 

 He lays next to you and moves a lock of hair from your face. 'She's too beautiful to pass up. I can't kill her. Besides, Vault, Rantaro, Daigo and the others will do it for me. Till then, I might just try to get to know her,' he thinks to himself. Besides, his group would find you both before any feelings for you showed up. 

He snuggled up next to you. It was the Hunger Games. Betrayal was a common thing. He could betray whenever he felt like it.  

And feelings? Seriously?

You awoke to a bright sunny day. 'Huh? Oh no! Don't tell me I fell asleep cutting wood? The Peacekeepers will certainly punish me!' you thought. But something was off. You felt am arm around you. You turn  around and see that Career you kept as ransom sleeping next to you. You rose quickly and took your ax. 

He wakes up and looks at you. "Oh. Good morning lumberjack," he says. You hold the ax aimed at his head. "So what's your game? Are you trying to distract me?" you demand. He laughs and says, "You're pretty. If we weren't in this death trap, I'd surely go out with you." You feel a blush rise on your cheeks. 

"R-really? I mean, no! You're trying to trick me! You want to make me weak and then when your friends come for us, you'll ditch me and kill me!" you exclaim. 

"Well, if that won't convince you, maybe this will," he says, and pulls you close. He presses his lips to yours. For a moment, all you can do is stare in shock. But you fall into the kiss. After a while, he pulls his lips from yours. "So, how about that alliance?" he asks. You stare and nod.

Days had passed. 

Orochi's Career group had killed everyone but you and him. During that time, Orochi had proved he loved you. And you loved him. You protected each other from any other tributes. But today, you were facing your worst fear yet. 

The Career pack. 

"Orochi! What took you so long to kill the lumberjack?" asks a boy with white hair. There were two girls in the group and five boys. "I-I-I encountered some obstacles. She had me tied up," Orochi lied, and lifted his bound hands. You took your ax and held the blade. The Career pack tenses and lifts their weapons.

"You hit me, you hit him. So let's work a deal," you threatened. They all nodded, but the white haired girl said, "Shu, let me have both and I'll give the audience a show." You didn't even blink. "No Y/n. I swear I love you! Please don't kill me. I love you!" Orochi cried out. You flinched. You couldn't kill him. He proved he truly loved you. And you loved him. 

You had to protect him. 

"Back up slowly. I'm just stalling," you whispered. You backed up and so did he. Once you reached the Cornucopia, you called out, " Wait there or he dies!" You disappear into the Cornucopia. You turn to face Orochi and cut the ropes around his wrists with your ax. "Listen to me. I won't kill you. But if we run. We die. We fight we die. I love you too much to lose you," you tell him. He nods and your lips meet his. 

When you pull back he says, "I'll protect you. I'll defy the Capitol. President Snow himself if I have to. No matter what it takes, I'll keep you by my side." You nod and give him one final kiss. You take your weapons and run, weapons high. You both yell out a battle cry. 

You charge towards the Career pack.
