twelve. warrior

Beth and Lincoln laid down on the blanket together, she tracing her fingers across his chest. It had been an hour or so since she arrived, and she knew she needed to leave soon before someone sent out a search party for her, again. "I should go soon."

"Do you have to?" Lincoln says, looking down at her. She smiles at him, kissing his hand.

"Unfortunately, I do." Beth says to him, sitting up, grabbing her shirt. "Before they send out a damn search party, again." She said, pulling her shirt over her head and putting on her jacket.

Lincoln laughs and nods lightly. "Yeah, you're right. I don't feel like getting tortured again this week." He says to her, a small smirk on her face.

"Oh my gosh." She says, laughing lightly, knowing he was joking with her but also serious. She toses his shirt at him before standing and pulling her jeans on.

He laughs lightly, getting dressed himself. "I'll walk you back."

Beth turns to him. "Oh, why thank you." She says to him, smiling.

He smiles back at her, and the two leave the cave. Beth turns to say something to him but runs right into something, or more like someone.

Finn. Lincoln goes to jump to attack, and Beth grabs him. "No, no! No, please, he's my friend!" Beth turns quickly and looks at Finn confused. "What are you doing here, Finn?"

"I think you lost this." Finn says, holding up the foghorn he took the night he got stabbed. Beth sighs. Finn looks back at her. "And I could ask you the same thing. I could also ask how long you've known he speaks English, but I won't." Finn says to her. He holds up the foghorn once more. "You blew this when your people were hunting us. You saved our lives. Beth's life multiple. I have to believe there're more like you." Finn says to Lincoln.

Beth looks over at the man. "I stabbed you." He tells Finn. Beth winces at the words, remembering.

"And we tortured you." Finn's words make Beth wince again. "If the two of us can get along, then maybe there's hope. Learn from history instead of repeating it, right?" Finn asks.

"How's that gonna happen, Finn?" Beth asks the Collins boy.

"For starters, no more killing."

"That'd be nice." Beth mutters.

Lincoln sighs, shaking his head. "I don't have the power to call a truce."

"Then bring us to someone who does." Finn says, and Beth gives him an unsure look. "Hey, look. The rest of our people are coming down here. The first ship is in two days."

Beth nods, agreeing with him. "It's true. I heard that my dad's on it."

Finn nods at her. "And because of the attacks, they're sending mostly soldiers, the people that enforce our laws. The Ark is about survival at any cost, and they'll kill people who fall out of line. When those people get down here, if they feel threatened, they will start a war, and I don't want that. Neither does Beth. Neither do you, and I think that's why you blew that horn." Finn explains, and Beth sighs, knowing Finn wasn't wrong. "Once our soldiers get here, it will be too late, and we'll have no power to stop them, but if they see that we're at peace, then maybe we have a chance to stay that way."

Beth looks over at Lincoln, watching as he listened to Finn and took in what he said. "He's not wrong, I know my dad. He'll start a war. So will Jaha." She says. Saying his name reminded her of Wells, and it broke her heart. She missed the boy and just prayed he found peace.

Lincoln nods after a minute. "All right." He spoke. "You bring your leader, I'll bring mine." Lincoln says to her.

"What you wanna bring Bellamy? He'll never go for this." Beth says to the two.

Lincoln shakes his head. "No. Not him."

"Clarke." Finn says, and Beth sighs, knowing this was gonna be hard. Beth and Lincoln lock eyes, sharing a secret goodbye before Beth and Finn leave.

The two were walking, none of them saying a word. After a few moments, Beth sighs and stops. Finn stops a few feet away in front her and looks back at her. "What's wrong?" He asks her, worried.

"I'm sorry." Beth says to him, looking up at him with a sad and guilty look.

"Why?" Finn asks, confused as he took a few steps towards her.

"He stabbed you and I- I now me and him are -"

Finn cuts her off as she ran a hand through her hair. "Yes, he stabbed me. But it was in self-defense. Even I know that. I shouldn't have tried to take the horn. And as for you and him, if you're happy. I'm happy." Finn says to her, and a few tears fall down her face. "We're okay, I'm not mad at you. Kinda confused with how it happened, but I'm not mad. You're my little sister, I could never hate you or anything. I love you, little sis." He says to her, and she nods.

"I love you too, Finny." She says, and the two share a hug before heading back to camp, talking about everything that's been going on.

Beth walked over to Octavia, who sat on a log talking with Monty and Jasper. "Hey, can I talk to you for a minute?" Beth asks the Blake girl, who gives her a confused look but nods and gets up.

"Yeah, what's up?" Octavia asks as the two girls walk away from the boys, who were confused by the Kane girl just coming up and getting Octavia.

Beth looks around them for a moment before talking, making sure no one was listening in. "I'll explain more when we're not here." Beth says before heading to the gates, her bookbag now in her possession instead of Finn and Raven's. It still had the clothes she wore in the skybox and the knife her father had given her.

The two had left through the gate, and Beth was leading to where she believed the meeting was gonna take place. "Finn, Lincoln, and I set up a meeting with the grounders. We're trying to make peace." Beth says to her once she knows there far enough away from camp. Octavia looks at the Kane girl, wide-eyed. "I'm going to that meeting, but if you want to go back to camp, I understand." Beth says to Octavia.

The Blake girl shakes her head, "No, I'm coming with you." she says.

Beth nods at the girl and continues leading the way.

Beth and Octavia walk out of the woods, seeing a bridge with Clarke and Finn on their side and Lincoln on the other. Beth doesn't listen in on Finn and Clarke's conversation as she goes up the bridge, meeting Lincoln in the middle as he rushes to her. Lincoln hugs the redhead tightly, holding her there for a moment. Beth was worried that he might have gotten in trouble or hurt because he was the one to bring up this peace treaty. She didn't want his people hurting him. The two pull away from their hug as Octavia looks at the two, a small smile on her face. Lincoln nods at Octavia, who nods back at him. He grabs Beth's hand as they hear something on the other side of the bridge.

Beth's eyed widen as she see's more grounder's, but not just them, horses as well. She lets out a small laugh. She wasn't even sure if horses existed anymore, but here they were. Lincoln looks over at her, a small smile appearing on his face as he sees her mesmerized by the beautiful colored horses.

"Wait, look." Clarke says to Finn. "Oh, my God! Horses!" She exclaims, a bright smile on her face that was soon wiped off as she sees the grounders have weapons. "Hey, we said no weapons!"

Lincoln shook his head, confused. "I was told there wouldn't be." He tells the group.

Beth shrugs. "It's too late now to leave." She says to Clarke, who sighs but nods.

"They want to talk to the leader." Lincoln says to Clarke, who nods and goes to walk forward, but he puts out his arm, stopping her, before looking at Beth. "And the warrior." He says, not taking his eyes off Beth. She gives him a confused look, but he nods at her, reassuring her. Beth looks at the three others, who shared the same look of confusion before she looks back at Lincoln. He leans down, whispering something in her ear. "Yu laik a brave gona Beth Kom Shaikru." He says to her. She gives him an unsure look at first but nods, agreeing with him.

Clarke and Beth share a look before the two walk forward to meet the leader in the middle. Beth gives Lincoln on last look as the two continue walking. One thought going through everyone's minds.

This was gonna be a long meeting.

So I am stopping this here. ikik its so fucking short, i'm sorry! There will be another chapter within the next few days, possibly later today! How'd you guys like this chapter? Did you guys like the little moments with Beth and Lincoln, and Beth and Finn? I didn't want him to be mad at Beth because of her and Lincoln, and I didn't want it to affect their relationship with one another. I didn't think that'd be a good addition to the story, lol. Anyways, just lmk your thoughts!! Thanks for reading! Bye.
