three, the deer

The group had been walking for a while, all of them taking in the breathetaking scene in front of them. All the trees blowing in the wind, birds chirping quietly as they sat on branches or flew through the air. Beth runs her hand across a bush as she walks by, a soft smile on her face as she felt the leaves in her hand.

Finn's voice cuts her off from her thoughts as he asked the two other boys why they were arrested. Beth looks at the two, waiting for their answers. The shorter one being the first to talk, "Poison Sumac isn't the only herb in the garder if you know what I mean." He says, causing the redhead to smirk. She had heard about the arrest while she was locked up, she was slightly jealous when she had heard about it, wishing she had known them.

"Someone forgot to replace what we took." The other boy, Jasper, speaks up causing Beth to laugh lightly as he shoots Monty a look.

"Someone has apologized, like, a million times." Monty says to him as Beth shakes her head with a smile on her face.

"Who cares? No one. We're on Earth now, they can't do shit to us." Beth says to him, causing Monty to nod, at least slightly agreeing with her.

Jasper walks closer to the redhead, asking, "So Miss Beth Kane, what did you do to get into the skybox?"

Beth looks away from him before talking, "I stole something that was very important, and my dad caught me with it, and a bottle of moonshine." Jasper looks at her slightly shocked.

"Were you able to at least have some of the moonshine?" He asks her with a small smirk on his face.

Beth looks at him, smirking back. "All my dad had left in the bottle was a sip." She says to him. He laughs at the words, holding his had up for a high five. She laughs as well, high fiving him.

He smiles and then looks to Octavia, "So, Octavia, what'd they get you for?" Beth's face falls at the question, already knowing the answer.

"Being born." She answers as her expression grows cold and she skips ahead of them to meet up with Clarke.

"That is so not game." Monty whispers to Jasper, who sighs as they continue to follow Octavia. Beth walks up and see's Octavia, Clarke and Finn all bent over behind a bush. Beth looks at them confused but leans down between Finn and Clarke, following their gazes.

A deer was standing a few hundred feet from them, just standing there, bent over eating the grass. "No animals, huh?" Finn whispers to Clarke as he goes to move forward, stepping on a stick the was in front of him. The deer's head snaps up, revealing it's terrifying secret. It had a second head growing out of the side of it's head. The group gasps as they all watch it run away.

Beth shakes her head, wondering what the hell happened to the poor deer.

About an hour later, the group continues their walk to the montain.

Beth walks up to the edge of some rocks, seeing a river below, just a few feet down. Beth smirks at the water as Octavia walks up next to her. The two look at each other, then the water, and smirk. Beth and Octavia then both start to undress, leaving them in just their tank tops and underwear. Beth sets her bag carefully next to her clothes.

"God, I love Earth." Beth hears Jasper say. She laughs ightly as Clarke calls out to them.

"Beth! Octavia! What the hell are you doing?" The blonde asks the two in an annoyed motherly tone.

The girls don't answer her, smirking at each other before the jump into the water. "Guys, we can't swim!" Monty yells out.

"But, we can stand." Octavia says, with a smirk on her face as the two stand in the water.

Jasper looks passed the girls, seeing something moving behind them. "Beth! Octavia! Get out of the water!" Beth looks at him wide eyed as she then looks around, seeing something in the water swimming towards them. She couldn't make out what it was but she knew it looked big enough to kill them. Beth pushes Octavia forward as they try to get out of the water but it grabs Beth's leg with what she assumed was it teeth. The others scream her name while she was pulled under, trying to think of something to do to help the redhaired girl. She holds her breath, trying to fight it off her but it was stronger than her.

Suddenly, it stops and swims towards where the group was previously on the rocks and where Octavia is currently. It grabs onto Octavia, causing her to scream. Beth and Jasper rush to the girl, Beth trying to ignore the pain in her leg. It lets go of Octavia as there's another splash in the water from a rock Clarke and Finn rolled in. Beth and Jasper grab onto Octavia, pulling her to shore.

Octavia hugs Beth and Jasper tightly, the two hugging her back before Beth pulls away and looks at her leg. There was a large gash in her calf that was bleeding. She sighs. "Well, that's not pretty." She mutters to herself. Clarke begins dressing their wounds with ripped straps of Jasper and Finn's shirts. Beth sighs as Finn helps her stand, he gives her a look as if asking if she was okay. She gives him a soft smile and nods. He nods back and helps her walk back over to her clothing and helping her stand as she gets dressed.

After the two girls got dressed, the group heads back to the clearing they had passed a few minutes before they arrived at the river. Beth puts her bag down against a tree, sitting down and using her jacket as a small blanket. It was getting colder out now that night was falling. She pulls her bag onto her lap, opening it, and looking at the knife her father had given her. She also notices to small pieces of paper. She pulls them out, confused that she hadn't seen them before in her cell when she checked the bag. The first piece of paper was a letter, from her father. She sighs, putting it back into her bag, deciding to read it at another time. The second piece was a map, an old one. It looked like one that her father kept in his office, framed up.

She runs her hand on the map, wondering where exactly she was on it. But there wasn't much writing on it, and what was there, a lot of it was smudged. She sighs, folding the map back up and putting it back with the letter. She yawns quietly, looking around at the others who were already asleep. Beth nods to herself, knowing she needed to get some sleep. She lays down, using her bookbag as a pillow, soon falling asleep, with one thing on her mind as she did so.

'This is not how I expected Earth to be.'
