fifteen. debris and glass
ON THE ARK
Debris laid everywhere as the Ark was crippled by the launching of the Exodus Ship. Some walls were collapsed, and wires were hanging everywhere. Marcus Kane was lying on the ground a few feet away from a blonde haired girl, who was unconscious but breathing. Kane sighs in relief as he takes her pulse.
"Hello?" He calls out, looking around. "Is anyone there? Hello?" He asks again, worry filling through him as he didn't know what to do. There were no protocols for this. There was no training them for this. He was on his own in trying to help, for now, at least.

ON THE GROUND
Beth and Octavia were in the meathouse, cooking some food for the group and hanging up meats. The grounders hadn't attacked that morning, but Beth figured they were gonna soon she just didn't know when exactly yet.
"Let's get this party smoking." Del says, putting more wood into the fire.
Beth sighs, rolling her eyes, having to explain it to him again. "You don't want the fire too big. So maybe just try and knock it down with some wet leaves." She says to the boy.
Del rolls his eyes, looking at her. "What? You get that from your boyfriend, grounder pounder?" He asks her. She glares at the younger boy, about to take a step forward but was stopped by Octavia.
"She right." John Murphy spoke up. He was allowed back to camp, basically on probation. She knows if he fucks up again, Bellamy is gonna kill him. "A hot fire is not gonna preserve the meat as well." Murphy explains to the boy.
Del looks over at him. "You can't take the heat get out of the smokehouse. Should be kissing our asses for being allowed back in this camp."
Beth rolls her eyes at the boy. "You're not the one who makes the rules, Del. So shut the fuck up." She says to him.
"Just keep working." Murphy says to him, not giving him another look before looking at the girls. "Your brother couldn't get you and Beth a better job?" Murphy asks Octavia. "Would think anything would be better than working in the meat furnace."
"Oh, probably. That just means someone else would have to do it." Octavia replies, and the tent goes quiet.
After some time, the fire begins to spread throughout the tent. Beth looks at the others, alarmed. "Go!" She exclaims, trying to stop the fire with the water they had, but it wasn't working as the flames grew larger.
John helped Octavia out of the tent, as Beth followed soon after, coughing like crazy from the smoke. Finn rushes over, pulling Beth away from the smokehouse. "Hey you okay?" He asks her. "You okay?" He asks again as she didn't answer.
Beth nods her head. "Yeah, yeah, I'm okay."
"This is all your fault!" Murphy yells at Del. "We told you it was too much wood." He says, getting in Del's face.
"Ge the hell away from me." Del says, pushing Murphy as Bellamy rushes over and gets in the middle.
"Hey! Hey! Stop! Save it for the grounders!" He tells the two, causing Beth to roll her eyes. He wasn't wrong. She was just annoyed with the war that was going on in the first place.
Octavia looks over at her brother. "Bell, now what the hell are we gonna do?" She asks him. "That was all our food."

ON THE ARK
Kane was walking around, looking for survivors when a voice yelled out. "hello?" The young voice yelled out, coming from the direction he was just in. Kane's eyes widen, rushing back to where he was at before with the unconscious girl.
Who was now awake, her head was bleeding some as she looked around confused.
Kane rushes over to her. "Hey, hey. Are you okay?" He asks her, worried for the young girl.
The girl groans, holding her bleeding head. "Ugh, yeah. I think so." She answers before looking around frantically. "Wait, wait."
"What's wrong?" He asks her, confused.
"My- my baby. Where's my baby?" She asks, looking around the dark hallway, scared and confused.
Kane suddenly got up and began looking around. A baby was small, so he was hoping that the baby wasn't in harms way or stuck under something.
The young girl stood up, swaying lightly as she tried to keep her balance to look for her baby.
After a few quiet moments, other than the girl yelling out for her child, Kane stops near a small hole in the wall. He kneels down, looking inside of it to see a small baby, just around a few months old. "Oh my." He mutters to himself before smiling at the small child. "Hi, there." He whispers, causing the baby to look up at him, first alarmed but then had a small smile. "C'mon, let's get you to your momma." He says, picking up the baby.
A gasp was heard as Kane stood up with the child. "Oh my gosh!" The girl exclaims, rushing over. "Oh, gosh. Thank you so much!" She exclaims.
"Of course." Kane answers. "He seemed stuck in the hole, he doesn't look harmed."
"Thank god." The girl says, holding her child close in her arms, scared to ever let go again.
Kane sighs, looking at the young girl. She was barely older than Beth. How did she already have a baby, especially one that looked around a few months old. There was no way she wasn't underage, so the man was confused. "What's your name?" Kane asks the girl, confused.
The blonde girl looks up at him, her blue piercing eyes looking into his dark hazel.
"My name's Glass. Glass Sorenson."
And realization hits Kane like a truck.

ON THE GROUND
Beth was not listening as Bellamy talked, giving out orders for hunting. She didn't care to listen as she wasn't one of the ones going. She had opted to stay back and help Raven and Monty with the radios and bullets.
After Bellamy dismissed the group, Beth walked over to Finn. "Be careful, please." She says to the Collins boy. He nods at her, giving her a hug. "I'll look after Rave." He sighs at her words, remembering their breakup. He nods at her again.
"You be careful, too, B." He says to her before heading over to Miles and Clarke.
Beth heads upstairs to the third level where Raven and Monty were currently working on the radio.
"I found some good antena wire for the radios." Raven informs the redhead, who smiles at her childhood friend. "This guy was using it to fix his bed." She says, and Beth lets out a small laugh, shaking her head. "You find anything else from the Exodus ship wreckage?" She asks Monty, looking over at him.
"Yeah, data log. Want to hear something weird?" He asks the two girls, who share a look and then look back at him. He starts the radio, static coming in as he turns the volume up.
Raven looks at it, confused. "Sounds like interference."
"Wait." Monty tells them. "It gets weirder. When the signal hit, their nav. system went nuts. They never got it back, and then boom. It's like something was jamming the signal." He explains to the two.
Beth nods at him. "That is weird."
"It also makes no sense whatsoever." Raven added on.
"No." Monty says.
Raven sighs before saying. "Pull the drive-in speakers." She says, earning a confused look from the two.
"You want to strip it? We'll never find out where they crashed." Monty says to her.
Raven doesn't look up as she spoke. "We need every componant we can get our hands on if we're gonna make walkies, and I need the radio." She tells him.
Monty shakes his head. "No way. How are we supposed to contact the Ark?" He asks her.
"The Ark is not there. You're listening to a whole in the sky." Raven tells him.
Monty scoffs. "My family is up there."
Raven frowns at him, sighing. "I'm sorry." She says to him before pulling the wires out. The Reyes girl leaves the dropship, leaving Monty and Beth in confusion and slight anger. Beth gives Monty a soft, sad smile, to which he returns.

ON THE ARK
Kane was leading Glass and her child down the hallway. Debris layed everywhere as some sparked up from the electrical wires. Glass held her baby close as Kane guided her around the debris.
"Anybody there? Hello?" Kane calls out, looking down the dark hallway, hoping to see more signs of life.
"What is that?" Glass asks him, whispering as she could have sworn she heard singing.
Kane stops walking, listening for what she had heard. "Hello?" He calls out, hoping that someone would answer.
"Fifity-five bottles of beer -- take one down, pass it around-" The singing was cut off by Kane once again as the two walked towards where they heard the sound.
"Hey, hey, hey, can you hear me?" He calls out before they reach a doorway, seeing a man stuck there.
"What do you want?" The man asks before looking at the two. "Councilor, sir?" He asks, confused.
Kane nods at the man. "It's Wick, isn't it, from engineering. Sinclairs apprentice?" He asks him.
Glass looked at Wick, never seeing him around before, though she didn't understand why as he seemed to have the same job as Luke.
"Yeah, yeah. He and Luke had me come down here to override the containment codes to keep the doors open. Don't tell him I messed up." Wick says back to Kane.
Kane looks down at him. "Hey, you didn't mess up. We need to get your arm free." Kane says to him.
Wick nods, looking between the two and the baby. "Yeah, let's do that. That sounds like a good idea."
Glass puts down her baby, laying him on the ground for a moment. She looks sad for a moment before shaking her head and turning back to Kane and Wick. "Did you see anyone else around here?" Kane asks the stuck man.
Wick shakes his head. "No. Heard there was a hull breach in engineering. It was a breach?" Wick asks, confused. "What the hell happened, anyway?" Glass looks down at his question.
"We were betrayed." Kane says, shocking the man in front of him but not the blonde next to him.
"What a bitch. My mom voted for her." Wick says.
Kane sighs, looking at the door, knowing he and Glass weren't enough to get it off of him. "We're not gonna be able to open these doors without some help. I'll be right back."
"You can't leave me, man." Wick tells him.
Kane sighs but nods. "I won't leave you here." Kane says, and he and Glass begin trying to lift the door, all three of them groaning as they try to lift it up off of Wick.
"Aagh!" Wick yells out as the door is finally off of his arm. He moves quickly, allowing the others to drop it. "Thank you! That was - gr!" He says, getting up. "Easy." He finishes before looking around, as if he heard something. "I can hear the pumps." Wick tells the two, as Glass picks up her baby. "I think the vents are working up ahead."
Kane nods at him. "Let's go. If you 3 survived, there could be others." Kane says, gesturing to the three.
"It's like a ghost ship." Wick says as the three walk around the dark and quiet ship.
The three turn a corner, stopping quickly as they find a large group of people huddled together, sitting on the floor. Kane and Glass share a look before looking back at the group, both thankful there were more people out there.

ON THE GROUND
"You finished the walkies." Monty says to Raven as she walked into the dropship, holding the walkies.
Raven nods at him, "Hey, I'm sorry about before, really, and about your family." Raven says to him, causing Beth to smile lightly.
"Thanks." He says back to her, a small smile on his face. "So, all the hunters are back except Finn and Clarke."
Raven makes an annoyed face before saying. "OK."
Beth looks at the two confused for a moment. "Wait." She says, causing the two to look at her. "Raven, they were with another kid, Myles. They all left camp together.
"All 3 of them are still out there?" Raven asks as Bellamy walks in.
"Yeah." He answers before Beth. "We're going to look for them. Bring the walkies." Bellamy says, and Beth and Raven nod at him.

ON THE ARK
Kane, Glass, her baby, and Wick, along with the group of people they found, were walking through the halls after they agreed it was too dangerous to stay where they were at.
"Let's check passage 4." Kane says to them.
Glass nods, agreeing with him, but Wick shakes his head. "No, we got a jammed pressure door between us and pass. four, and we can't get through here. It's game over, man."
Kane shakes his head. "I need to talk to whoever is in there." Kane tells him.
"'Please' would be nice." Wick says before walking over to the wall panel. "Watch this." He tells the two before connecting some wires, causing a small spark, causing Glass to jump back slightly, shielding her baby from the spark. "Aha." Wick says, moving out of the way for Kane.
"Earth Monitoring, do you read?" Kane asks, quietly waiting for a response.
"We read you." Chancellor Jaha says on the other end. "Who is this? Where are you?"
Kane sighs in relief. "Sir, it's good to hear your voice."
"Of course it's you, Kane. You're too stubborn to die." Jaha says. Kane sighs, just hoping his daughter was the same way. He knew she was, but he was worried as she never talked to him when they had the cameras up.
"I could say the same for you." Kane says to him.
"What is your situation?" Jaha asks.
Kane looks around at the group. "We have about a dozen survivors."
"That's good work, Councilor." Jaha tells him. "Sinclair is rerouting power and air to the mess hall. Lead your people there."
"After we get you." Kane tells him.
"No." Jaha tells him, earning confused looks from the group, even though he didn't see them. "A fire burned through most of our oxygen. We put it out, but we don't have very long." He tells Kane, Kane goes to answer, but Jaha continues. "A fire burned through, all access is blocked. We are reviving as many Ark citizens as we can before our oxygen runs out."
"I won't leave you to die." Kane tells his boss.
"As your Chancellor, I am ordering you to gather as many survivors as you can and lead them to the mess hall. Jaha, out." Jaha says, not giving Kane a chance to argue.
Kane sighs, looking at Glass and Wick. "Lead them to the mess hall, and when you get there, organize a search station by station. Look for survivors."
Glass sighs as Wick nods and begins doing what he is told. "Hey, the Chancellor is right. We all got to get out of here. This whole deck is an electrical fire waiting to happen." Wick says, and the system they were using to talk starts to create sparks.
"That's why you need to lead these people out of here, please." Kane says to the two.
"So, what are you just gonna stay here?" Glass asks the man.
"You've got to save everyone but youself, huh? This is nuts." Wick says to Kane.
Kane sighs at the two. "No one else can die because of me. Go. Go get yourselves to safety, get your baby to safety Glass." Kane says to them before turning and trying to pull away debris to get the others out, failing as it was all too heavy, though.
Wick joins in on moving the debris, but the two were still struggling. Glass sighs, looking around at the other survivors before walking over to a small girl and a red-haired woman. "Hi, I'm Glass, this is Beau. Do you mind watching him for a moment?" She asks the two, smiling at them.
The woman smiles and nods at her. "Of course." She says, holding out her hands for the baby.
"Thank you so much." Glass says to her, giving them a small smile before handing them the baby and walking over to Kane and Wick, beginning to help them. Other survivors walk over, helping the three try and free the others.
"On three." Kane says to the group.

ON THE GROUND
Octavia, Raven, and Beth walked through the dark woods, looking for the 3 missing teens, as Bellamy and Monty were about 10 feet away, looking in the other direction.
"Where are they?" Raven asks, confused on where the three could have gone.
Beth sighs. "We'll find them." She says, trying to reassure Raven. But Beth herself was scared too, and she wasn't sure what was going to happen.
"I thought you said you were heading west. Where are you?" Monty says from his spot on the radio.
"Just keep the moon on your left, and you'll find us." Bellamy says through the radio to Monty. Beth hadn't noticed that Bellamy had come closer to the three than he was closer to Monty. Beth sighs, worriedly.
Raven sighs, looking around with her flashlight. "This morning, all I could think about was how much easier this would all be if Finn was just, Gone." Raven spoke, causing Beth to frown.
"You didn't wish this into being, Rave." Beth says to her childhood best friend. "Stop torturing yourself, they're gonna be okay."
"Is anyone else hearing this signal?" Monty asks through the radio. Beth looks around confused, not hearing anything. "Just keep your eyes open. I think it's the same thing we heard in the black box." He tells the group.
Bellamy rolls his eyes. "Damn it, Monty, pay attention. Do you see anything?" Bellamy asks him through the radio, but it was silent on the other end. "Report." Bellamy says, trying to get a reply.
Beth's eyes widen as she hears something in the bushes in front of them. Her breathing hitched as she spoke quietly. "Guys, someone is in the bushes." She mutters through the walkie to Bellamy and Monty, earning confused looks from the girls as she slowly walks towards the bushes. She looks into the bushes, a small gasp leaving her lips. "Myles?" She asks, arrows sticking out of the poor boy.
Bellamy had rushed over, hearing her through the walkie. "Myles, what happened?" Bellamy asks the hurt boy. "Where are they? Clarke and Finn, where are they?"
"Grounders took him." Myles says, trying to get up but Beth and Bellamy stop him.
"Take it easy, Myles. Please." She says, not wanting him to hurt himself even more.
"We have to get him back to camp." Bellamy tells the three girls.
Raven looks over at him. "Bell, what about Clarke and Finn?" She asks him.
Bellamy sighs. "Beth, Raven, I'm sorry." He says to them, causing Beth to look away as Raven spoke.
"We need to make a stretcher." She says, moving to find stuff to do so.
"Monty, we're heading home. You copy?" Bellamy asks him through the radio, but he doesn't reply again. "Monty, can you hear me?" Radio silent. "Monty?"
Beth sighs, looking around, bringing her walkie up. "Monty, where the hell are you?" She asks into it, worry filling her. It was again silent.
"Report, Monty." Bellamy says, but the Green boy doesn't.
Beth's heart sinks as she realizes they just lost another person. "Damn it!" Beth exclaims, pissed off.

ON THE ARK
The group was able to get to the others, freeing them.
Glass stood near the red-haired woman and the little girl, holding her son as she listened in on Kane and Jaha.
"Any word on causalities yet?" Jaha asks the man.
Kane shakes his head. "No. Sinclair still has teams out assessing the damage, but whole stations may have been lost." Kane's words broke Glass' heart as she worried for her mother and Luke. "I estimate no more than 1,000 survivors, at least 1,500 dead."
"Hey, guys, I found something." Wick says, walking over to the Chancellor and Councilor, Sinclair quickly follwoing behind.
"I'm sorry, sir, Mr. Wick has trouble with protcol." Sinclair says to the two as Glass walks closer to listen in.
"What did you find?" Jaha asks the blond man.
Wick nods and begins. "Data from the Exodus launch. The montior says that service hatch beta was manually sealed before the launch from our side."
"There was someone in the service bay." Kane says, causing Glass to walk right up to them, in hopes that it may be Luke.
"But there are survivors?" Jaha asks the man. "People jumped ship at the last moment?"
Wick shrugs. "Maybe Sydney threw them off. Maybe they were a threat. Could they still be alive in the service bay?" Kane asks, looking at the blond engineer.
"Well, sir, if they hunkered down and got lucky, yeah, they could still be ticking, but they won't be for long." Wick answers him.
Glass bites the inside of her cheek, trying to figure out how'd she even get there. "Well, how do we get to them?" Kane asks Wick, voicing Glass' inner thoughts.
"The maintenance shafts." Glass answers, causing them all to look over at her. "It's sealed on both sides, so you'd have pressurization." She tells them. Jaha gives her a confused look before recognizing her.
"Glass Sorenson. I thought you got floated." Jaha says to her.
Glass sighs, looking down. "Well, about that. I didn't." She says to him. Jaha's eyes grow dark.
"Kane, arrest her now." Jaha spoke, but Kane didn't move. He looks over at Kane. "Now."
"Sir, she's been nothing but helpful since the explosion." He tells his boss. "I know what she did was wrong, but so was what we did." He tells Jaha, who glares at the man before shaking his head, not saying another word about it.
"And the shaft is pressed right up against the fuel pods. Without power to the coolant system, it'll be hot as hell in there." Sinclair informs them.
Glass lets out a small breath of relief for Jaha not arresting her. Honestly, it was the last thing she needed to happen right now. She needed to get to Luke. "We have to try." Kane says, speaking her thoughts once more.
--
Glass, Wick, and Kane were standing in front of the maintenance shaft. Kane was supposed to be going in. "Hey, so you'll need this battery to open up the door to the bay. Good?" Wick asks him, handing him the battery. "It's not that hot. Sinclair doesn't know what he's talking about. It's a little warm." Wick says about the shaft.
"So, neither of you are gonna talk me out of it?" He asks the two blondes.
"Nope." Wick says to him. "When you die, can I have your shoes?" Wick asks the man, causing Glass to hold back a small laugh.
"They're much too stylish for you." Kane says to him before getting into the shaft, beginning to crawl through.
Glass sighs before going to follow Kane. "Woah, what are you doing?" Wick asks her, causing Kane to stop and look back.
"I'm going with." Glass answers, as if it's the most obvious thing in the world. Kane and Wick give her confused glances.
"No, you need to stay with Wick and your baby." Kane says to her, causing the young blonde to roll her eyes.
"If there's more than one person there, you're gonna need help getting them to safety." Glass tells him, causing the older man to sigh and look at Wick, who just shrugs. "Fine, but stay behind me and let me know if you see anything." He says to her.
Glass nods back, agreeing with the man before he continues to climb further in the shaft. "Yes, sir." She mutters, follwoing behind him.
Kane and Glass continued crawling through the maintenance shaft. After a few minutes, they finally reached the service bay for the dropship. Kane pulls out a key, putting it into the door and bringing power to the rooms oxygen supply. Glass and Kane walk into the service bay.
Glass looked around frantically at the people in there, trying to recognize them, any of them. And she finally does with a tall, blond haired man who stood in the corner, looking down at someone on the ground. "Luke?" Glass calls out, her voice betraying her as it breaks. The man turns around quickly, hearing the name. "Oh my god." Glass mutters before running over to him, throwing her arms around him.
"Glass?" He asks, unsure for a moment before hugging her back tightly. "You're alive." He mutters out, holding her close to him.
"Yeah, I'm alive." Glass says as Kane rushes over to the person Luke had been looking at a moment before.
"Abby! C'mon, hey, hey. Wake up. Abby." Kane says, tapping her face as he leaned down next to her. Abby begins to stir as he takes her face in his hands and lets her lean against him.
"It's so hot." Abby mutters back, barely opening her eyes.
Glass tightens her hoold on Luke, scared to let go of him again. "There's someone you should meet." Glass mutters to him, and he gives her a confused look but nods at her anyway. She gives him a soft smile before leaning back into their hug.
