Unfathomable

I'd sleep forever if I could but, sadly I can't. Waking up just brings me back into my own personal realm of pain and emptiness while sleep takes me away from it, even if it is just for a few hours. Nobody understands how badly I wish this feeling would just go away. I hated it so much and I wanted nothing more than to feel happy again, but right now I knew that wasn't quite possible. In all honesty, I felt like things were getting worse instead of getting better and it wasn't really something that I particularly liked.

At the moment, it was about one o'clock in the afternoon. I was sitting in my desk chair in my bedroom at the base eating a tub of cookie dough ice cream. Will had brought it up to me earlier, saying I needed to at least eat something before I just dropped dead. He was exaggerating, of course, but I took the tub anyway. It was my favorite kind.

The TV on the wall was switched on, soft voices from the cast of The Originals were echoing throughout the small room. I wasn't really paying attention. I only stared blankly at the bright screen while picking out pieces of the cookie dough and putting them into my mouth.

My open window sent a cool breeze into the room and I covered myself with my tan cardigan. In the distance, I could hear the sound of engines revving and the rushed footsteps of many of the soldiers. I shook it off as nothing though and went back to eating my ice cream and staring at the television screen. The sound of my phone ringing tore my attention away from the screen. I picked up my phone that was laying down on the desk and looked at the caller ID. It read: Brooke Hall. I sighed and answered the phone.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Rosalie! It's been a while," her all too perky voice exclaimed.

"What do you want, Brooke?" I countered.

"I saw the picture you posted on Twitter. I'm sorry that your precious car was taken away from you but, you can always come to Virginia and drive mine," she said.

I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah, I'm okay."

"Oh. Well. Why do you sound so down? It's just a car," she laughed.

I sighed. If only she knew.

"Why are you calling me?" I asked annoyed.

"I just wanted to catch up."

"Have you forgotten that I don't like you?" I said to her.

"I know, but in reality I've just missed you. You and Gracie both," she said softly.

"Well, I have new friends, Brooke. Anyways, remember? You're too good for us. Just because your high school friends left you doesn't mean you get to come back to us. Besides, I have more important things I need to deal with right now," I said and hung up before she could respond.

My bedroom door clicked open and Gracie came walking in.

"Hey girl," she said.

I gave her a small smile and sat my phone down on the table before picking up the carton of ice cream.

"Hey."

"Since when are you wearing your glasses?" she asked me.

"Since my contact prescription expired. I didn't feel like ordering anymore," I explained.

She nodded.

"So, how are you feeling today?"

"The same way I've been feeling since it happened, only slightly more lively," I replied, sticking the ice cream into my mouth.

She nodded and sat down.

"Are you still contemplating on what you told me yesterday?" she asked.

"I've already thought about it and I have to do it. I will do it. Just please keep it to yourself," I explained to her.

She just sighed. I started to tell her about the random call from Brooke, but was interrupted when my door was swung open to reveal Will and my dad.

"Um, you two had better come with us," Will said, shock resonating in his tone.

I gave him a questioning look.

"What's going on?" Gracie asked.

"You'll see. Just come with us."

"Can I bring my ice cream?" I squeaked.

My dad gave me a small smile and nodded. I got out of the chair and grabbed my spoon and ice cream before following Gracie, my dad, and Will out of my bedroom door.

"Where's everyone else at?" Gracie asked as I took another bite of my ice cream.

I still had more than half a carton left. I don't know how either.

"They're downstairs with Epps and the Autobots," Will explained as we got into an elevator.

He pressed the ground floor button and then we were on our way down.

"Why won't you tell us what's going on?" Gracie asked.

I didn't really care what was going on. The only reason I was even in this elevator right now was because I was kind of being forced. The elevator dinged and opened. We stepped out onto the ground floor and started down a long hallway.

"You'll see, Grace," my dad said.

She groaned and I just continued eating my ice cream.

Soon, we came to another long hallway. At the end of it was the aircraft hangar that led to the outside of the building. I could hear shuffling and loud footsteps from down the hall. It didn't take us long to reach the end of the hallway. Lennox opened up the door to the hangar and walked in. Gracie and I followed behind him and my dad as he rounded the corner. I could see planes and helicopters hanging from the ceiling as well as some on the ground. Lennox and my dad walked around an F-22 and out farther into the Hangar. I could hear Hound's loud voice and Sideswipe's as well. They sounded shocked about something, but I didn't pay any attention. I only ate my ice cream as I followed behind the two men.

"Oh my gosh," Gracie whispered rather shocked.

I put another spoonful of the cold snack into my mouth and swallowed.

"Wha-" I started as I came out from behind the plane, but was stopped by the sight in front of me.

I almost dropped my ice cream. I couldn't believe my eyes. In front of me stood none other than Optimus Prime. The large blue and red mech was watching us as we came closer. I noticed Lynleigh, Jason, and Uncle Josh over by Hound and Sideswipe. They looked pretty calm. Guess they've been down here for a while.

"Young Rosalie, Gracie. It's very nice to see you again," his deep baritone voice said.

It almost sounded foreign having not heard it in such a long time.

"You're back," Gracie said, slight relief in her tone.

I took another bite of my ice cream.

"Yes and I am here to help you defeat Galvatron once and for all," he told us.

I scoffed and shoved another spoonful of ice cream into my mouth. The sound of his name sent so much hatred throughout my body. I wanted so badly just to watch him die.

"It's about damn time you showed up," Hound teased.

Optimus gave him a look before turning back to Gracie and I. He crouched down to our level and I shifted backwards at the sudden proximity. He scrunched his eyes at me.

"Your levels are faint, Rose. You look to be on the verge of a certain demise," he told me.

I sighed and took another bite of my ice cream.

"I certainly feel like it."

"I don't think a certain Autobot would be very happy with you at the moment," he scolded.

I pursed my lips.

"It's not like we'd actually know," I said quietly.

The tears pricked in my eyes, but I held them back. I continued eating my ice cream and Optimus stood back up, a sly smile on his face. I looked around and saw that all of the Autobots shared some kind of knowing look. I was getting anxious. What was going on?

"Think again," Dino said from behind me.

"Huh?" I asked confused.

Gracie shared the same expression.

Suddenly, I heard footsteps. Not just any footsteps, soft mechanical ones. I turned my attention to the direction they were coming from and nearly choked on my ice cream. There's no way that this was possible. It couldn't be. I closed my eyes and pinched my arm, trying to possibly wake myself up. I whimpered when I pinched myself too hard, and opened my eyes. I wasn't asleep. This was real. I didn't know how, but it was. I couldn't believe it.

I felt the tears escape my eyes as the yellow mech made his way towards me. I heard a gasp beside me.

How? I saw it. .I watched with my own eyes as that piece of shit Galvatron shoved that stupid sword into his chest. I watched him die. I watched as his blue optics went out. I watched it all. How in the hell was this even possible? He crouched down in front of me.

"Bumblebee," I whispered.

I still couldn't believe this. He whirred and I smiled.

"Rosalie," a voice on his radio said causing me to cry harder.

"How are you here? It's not possible," I said in a small voice.

"It's quite possible," Optimus' loud voice said. I turned my attention to him as he spoke. "The blade he was struck with simply grazed his spark, causing a temporary offlining. I discovered him in Chicago while I was on my way here. He was pretty banged up, but it was nothing a little fixing up couldn't do. He's good as new," he explained.

I turned back to the yellow mech who was still looking at me. The emptiness inside me was slowly fading away. The numbness was going away as well. I was starting to feel whole again. .feel happy. I was crying tears of relief and tears of joy. I threw down the carton of ice cream in my hand and ran to the mech that was crouched down in front of me. I did my best to hug him, even though it ended up being a really awkward engagement.

"I can't believe you're back," I whispered.

I couldn't control the tears. I just held onto him as best as I could for about thirty more seconds before finally getting off.

I stood in front of him and he looked me over, studying my clothes with a disapproving look on his face. All I was wearing was a tan cardigan, a white shirt and black capri Nike sweatpants with my white Vans. I'm sure my outfit didn't look that bad. I inched back, slightly uncomfortable as he studied my facial features. He reached out and grabbed the glasses off my face. I blinked as everything around me became blurry.

"I can't see," I announced to him.

I heard a click and then the glasses were back on my face. I focused my vision and looked at him.

"Since when are you-wearing those?" he asked through the radio.

It was the same question Gracie had asked earlier.

"Since my contact prescription expired. I wasn't exactly in the mood to order another prescription," I told him.

"You're losing weight," a station said.

I sighed.

"I know. I haven't exactly been in the mood for eating either," I explained.

He just shook his head and stood up. I looked down at the ground.

"You don't know how much I've missed you."

"I've missed you as well," a very unfamiliar British voice said.

I gaped up at him.

"Did you just actually talk?" I asked.

He gave me a little smile and nodded. Awh, his voice was cute. I don't know why he didn't use it more often but I understood the complications.

"This is very touching," Hound said dabbing his optics dramatically.

I raised my brow at him.

"What? I'm an emotional guy. Cut me some slack."

I laughed.

"Wow. You actually laughed. That's the first time I've heard I've heard it in days," Jason said coming up and wrapping and arm around my shoulder.

I hugged his side and laughed again.

"Well."

"Does this mean you're going to stop being an emotionless twat everyday?" he asked me.

I rolled my eyes at him and looked at the floor where my carton of ice cream lay. I walked away from Jason and over to it and carefully picked it up. I pouted as I looked inside of it. My ice cream was almost melted but a few of the cookie dough bites remained. I reached in the carton with my hand to get one out.

"And she's back," I heard Lynleigh say.

I was still considerably angry, but I couldn't even think about that right now. I put one of the bites into my mouth and I heard disgusted sounds around me, from Autobots and humans alike. I turned to everyone.

"What? They weren't technically on the floor," I said, going to grab another one.

It was instantly ripped out of my hands.

"DUDE."

"She's definitely back," Gracie mumbled.

I rolled my eyes.

"Could you maybe possibly get me some more cookie dough ice cream?" I asked Will sweetly.

He rolled his eyes jokingly and turned to leave.

"Oh, and some Lucky Charms please." I called after him.

He gave me a thumbs up and disappeared out the door.

"So, guess who called me earlier? I was going to tell you, but Will and my dad rudely barged in my bedroom door," I said throwing a small plastic ball across the room to Gracie.

They let me move out of my small room and into Gracie's massive room so Bee could stay with me. I was laying on the bed, Bee was in the corner across from my bed and Gracie was sitting at the computer desk.

"Who?" she asked, throwing the ball and hitting the wall beside Bee's head.

He whirred in shock as it almost hit him and I rolled my eyes.

"You suck," I said as I rolled over to get the ball.

The pain in my ribs was great but instead of worrying about it I tossed the ball back to her.

"But Brooke called me. It was weird."

"Ew, what'd she say?" she asked throwing the ball back to me.

I took a handful of Lucky Charms and shoved them into my mouth. I swallowed before throwing the ball back to her and speaking.

"She was like 'OMG. I am so sorry that you lost your precious car, but if you want you could always come back to Virginia and drive mine.' and I got upset and was like 'Nah' and then she was like 'Oh. Well, why are you so upset about the Camaro then?' and I was thinking 'Bitch, you have no fucking clue.' but I was like 'Why are you even calling me?' and then she was like 'I miss you and Gracie.' and then I told her I didn't like her and then she got upset and then I said something like 'I'm sorry your high school friends ditched you, but I have more important things to deal with right now.' and then I hung up. I don't really know. My mind is only just now starting to comprehend everything." I told her.

"Gross, I don't like her."

"Tell me about it," I said while shoving more Lucky Charms into my mouth.

I watched as Gracie picked up the picture frame the Autobots, my dad, and Joshua had gotten me.

"I never got to see this. It's precious," she said, smiling at the many pictures.

"The difficulty is not so great to die for a friend, as to find a friend worth dying for," she read.

I smiled at the words. She held it up to where Bee and I could see it. He looked confused at it and then whirred.

"You like it?" she asked him.

He nodded and she sat it back down.

"You know, I'm pretty mad at you," I told him.

He gave me a sad look and I laughed.

"Why?" he asked.

"Maybe because you let me sit around for like a week thinking that you were dead. But it's okay. I forgive you. Just please don't die," I told him.

He playfully rolled his eyes at me and I laughed.

"I'm so glad Optimus is back, though."

"Yeah, me too. What do you think they're all doing down in the Hangar?" Gracie asked.

I shrugged.

"Probably something boring."

"Let's go down there and party it up," she laughed.

"They probably wouldn't like that," I told her.

"And since when do you care?"

"I see your point. Let's go," I exclaimed, getting off of the bed and heading to the door. "Bee, you take the freight elevator down, okay?"

He nodded before heading over to the elevator and Gracie and I ran out the door.

"It's really good to have you back, Rose," Gracie told me as we stepped onto the elevator.

She seemed relieved, but I wouldn't be complete until Galvatron was dead, but instead of letting her down, I smiled at her.

"It's good to be back, Grace," I told her.

The elevator stopped on the bottom floor and we got out. We walked for a little bit before coming to the freight elevator where Bee was waiting for us.

"Come on, loser." Gracie said.

"That's mean," Bumblebee responded as he followed us down the hall and to the Hangar doors.

I pushed them open and walked in, everyone's attention turning to us.

"Your night just got better!" I exclaimed as I skipped into the room.

My dad, Joshua, Will, and Epps all sat at a giant table, while the Autobots sat closely around them.

"It's day time," Joshua said.

I stuck my tongue out at him and proceeded towards the table. I sat in one of the big chairs and propped my feet up. They all looked at me.

"What are you guys doing?" I asked.

"Discussing battle plans and such. We need to be prepared for Galvatron's next attack," Will explained.

I rolled my eyes at the sound of the name.

"You guys are so boring. Why don't you do something fun and stop worrying about that piece of tin shit for just one night? It wouldn't hurt you," I told them.

"I could've said the same thing to you about seven hours ago," Will retorted.

"Hey, that was different. I was suffering from a very tragic loss. And Bumblebee is not a piece of tin shit."

"That may be true, but there's no loss," Joshua said.

"Did I know that? No, so shut up," I said sticking my tongue out at him.

He just laughed. Gracie came over to sit beside me and Bee stood behind us.

"So, let's party."

"We're having a discussion and you're supposed to be taking it easy. Remember what happened to your ribs just about a week ago?" my dad said.

I groaned.

"Well, for one, I've been taking it easy for the past week and two, lighten up some. Gosh, you're all so. .ugh. I can't stand it," I said.

Will sighed and sat back in his chair.

"I think I liked her better when she was angry and depressed," he mumbled.

I heard a few snickers and I rolled my eyes.

"Stop teasing her. We're just trying to have a little fun. Relieve your stress for just a bit," Gracie said, smirking.

"Go away, please," Joshua said.

"This is America. We do what we want," I retorted.

I ignored their groans and stood up, Gracie behind me.

"BEE! MUSIC!" I called.

He whirred before his radio cut on, playing 'Happy' by Pharrell Williams. Gracie started doing some type of running man dance while I just did the dance I memorized from playing Just Dance.

"Break it down! WOO!" Gracie exclaimed.

"HELL YEAH!" Hound yelled and got up and started dancing.

Bee did a step and twirl before backing it up, which I laughed at.

"You've got to be kidding me," Crosshairs said with wide eyes.

The doors to the Hangar opened and Lynleigh and Jason marched in.

"You're having a party without us?" Lynleigh pouted.

I smirked and continued dancing.

"Feel free to join!" Gracie yelled.

I heard sighs coming from the table as Lynleigh and my brother started dancing. I ran over to Bee and he held his hand out to me. I grabbed onto his finger and he twirled me around. I giggled and continued dancing, clapping along with the beat of the song.

"Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof. Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth," I sang along with the song.

"Oh my gosh," Will exclaimed as a new sang came on.

'Come and Get Your Love' by Redbone played from Bee's radio. I recognized it from the 2014 movie 'Guardians of the Galaxy' and started dancing the way Peter had done in the first scene. Gracie grabbed my hand and swung me around before grabbing a random wrench off of the table and using it as a microphone.

"Come and get your love. Come and get your looooove," she sang as she skipped around the Hangar.

I laughed as we danced around, everyone's eyes on the five of us. I heard a few chuckles and then Sideswipe, Sunstreaker and Dino stood up and began dancing too. I heard a grunt come from Optimus but ignored it and ran over to Sideswipe, taking his finger in my hand and dancing around with him. I was having way too much fun at the moment.

"Feel free to join at anytime, losers," I called as the song on Bee's radio changed.

It instantly shifted to 'Danza Kuduro' from the movie Fast Five. Although it was sung in Spanish, I sang every lyric perfectly. After about a minute into the song, Joshua gave a snide smile and stood up to join us.

"Man, screw it," Mudflap said as he pulled Skids up with him to join us as well.

"No quites ahora, que esta sole empieza, mueve la cabeza y sacude duro," I sang.

"What the hell are you even saying?" Will called over the loud music.

"I have no clue, but I'm having fun, and you could be too but you're a gank," I replied while dancing passed him.

Once again the song changed. The sound of Olly Murs' 'Dance With Me Tonight' blasted through Bee's receptors. Bee looked down at me and gave me a little smile before holding his large hand out to me. I smiled and took ahold of his finger. I began dancing around with Bee when the chorus started up.

"Humans these days," I heard Roadbuster mumble.

"Come on you guys," Lynleigh called to the others as she danced in the palm of Hound's hand.

"I just want you to dance with me tonight," I sang and pointed at Bee.

He chuckled and spun me around once more.

"This has been one of the most unfathomable days I've ever experienced," Crosshairs said.

I laughed and continued dancing with Bee.

"Tell me about it."
