Home Sweet Home

Today was the day that I was finally going home and I couldn't be happier. Being stuck inside a hospital for almost a week absolutely sucked. The food here was horrible and the bed was so uncomfortable, which made me all the more excited to get home and lay in my own bed for the first time in weeks. I also couldn't wait to see everyone, especially the Autobots. I feel like it had been years since I've seen them, but today would rid my mind of that feeling.
I limped over to the closet and grabbed the clothes I had came in here with. Dad had brought me a new set of clothes to change into, so I threw the nasty and shredded clothes into my bag and threw it on the bed. After changing into a pair of jean shorts and a black tank top, I grabbed my black ankle boot and placed it on my right foot. I was finally ready to go.
My room door opened and my dad walked in.
"Are you ready to go?"
"Yes. Finally. Just let me grab my bag," I told him.
I limped over to the bed and grabbed my bag before limping back over to my dad. He held the door open for me and I walked out, him following closely behind me.
The elevator ride felt like it was taking forever. All I wanted was to get out of this building.
After what felt like hours, the doors to the ground floor finally opened. I limped out as fast as I could and then followed my dad outside. He walked to a black Range Rover that sat on the curb and opened the passenger's side door for me. I gave him a confused look, but hopped in. I looked at him as he got into the car and pulled off onto the highway.
"Is this an Autobot that I have yet to meet or. .?" I asked.
He only laughed.
"No. The Autobots are all kind of occupied at the moment so I had no other choice but to take Joshua's car," he explained.
"Oh."
"Don't sound so sad. You'll see them soon," he told me.
I just nodded and looked out the window. Cars and trees sped past in a blur. The only sound that could be heard inside the cabin of the car was the light hum of an RnB singer on the radio. After a few more minutes, dad pulled off on the exit that led to our neighborhood. We passed about two houses before finally coming to our driveway. He pulled in and parked the car.
None of the Autobot's car's were in the driveway and that made me kind of upset, but instead of moping, I opened the door and carefully hopped onto the pavement. I grabbed my bag from the backseat and limped towards the house. Dad opened up the door and I stepped in, taking in the fresh scent of the house that I had missed so much over these past few weeks.
I walked into the family room and threw my bad down onto the recliner before laying down on the leather sofa. I closed my eyes, but opened them again when I heard footsteps nearing me. My dad stopped and looked down at me.
"Mind going out back to the shed to get me my phone?" he asked me.
I gave him a dirty look.
"Why can't you do it? As you can tell, I have a gimpy foot."
"Just go get it. And walking helps," he said and took off down the hallway.
I rolled my eyes and got up. I trudged over and opened up the door that leads to the pool. After almost tripping over tables and chairs, I finally managed to make it to the gate that leads to our enormous backyard.
He had better be paying me for this because the shed is like a ten mile walk.
I opened the gate and stepped through before turning around to latch it back.
I sighed and turned back around to head back to the shed.
"WELCOME HOME!" voices yelled in unison.
Startled, I placed a hand on my chest and slammed back into the fence.
"Fucking hell," I breathed and glared at the party of people in front of me.
The Autobots, my family, Gracie's parents, Will, Epps and several other soldiers all stood in my backyard. How I didn't see the Autobots from the front yard, I don't know, but instead of worrying about it, I limped over to them. Jason engulfed me in a hug as did Uncle Josh, Will, Epps, Gracie's parents and Lynleigh. Gracie was standing by a table holding Avery. She walked over and smiled at me before handing Avery to me. I took her and then walked towards the Autobots, everyone following me as I did so.
"Well, thank you for scaring the piss out of me," I exclaimed.
Laughter erupted from the small crowd.
"We're just glad that you're okay and finally home. We've missed your crazy self around here," Lynleigh teased.
"I'm not crazy," I countered.
This time it was Jason's turn to speak up. He walked over to me and wrapped an arm around my shoulder.
"Oh, really?"
"Yes really," I said.
"So, streaking through the halls of the high school our senior year isn't crazy?" Gracie said.
"And going off on the volleyball team in front of three hundred people at our nine eleven assembly my sophomore year isn't crazy?" Lynleigh stated.
"Don't forget the beating of Bethany Taylor and the suicide mission in Australia," Jason added.
I swatted his rib cage but he only laughed.
"Okay, you can shut up now."
"Streaking, Rosalie? You seem much more proper than that," Will joked.
"I am a changed woman! Those were my seedling days. I'm a flower now," I exclaimed.
Jason snorted and went to stand beside Gracie.
"If you say so," Lynleigh retorted.
I just rolled my eyes and looked at Avery. She was smiling at me.
"Hi sweetheart," I greeted her.
She just giggled and dug her head into my neck which caused me to laugh. A loud voice from above caught my attention.
"HEY. You've said hello to everyone except your true family. You know, your home dogs," I heard Hound say.
I turned around and raised a brow at him.
"Home dogs? Really? Last time I checked you guys were nowhere near earning the title of dogs," I laughed.
"Cut me some slack here. I'm not hip with your human lingo," he whined.
"It's okay. I've missed you guys so much."
"We've missed your company as well, young Rose. I trust you are doing well?" Optimus said.
"I guess so. This boot is annoying and these stitches are itchy, but other than that I guess I'm fine," I replied.
"That's good. I'm surprised that's all you walked away with after the incident," Dino told me.
"Yeah, me too. But, I'm okay now and I'm back home with every single person and bot that I love and I couldn't be happier," I exclaimed happily.
"That's incredible to hear, Rose," Sunstreaker commented.
"Yeah. Even though we got off to a rough start, I'm glad you're okay, little girl," Mudflap told me.
"Same here, girl," Skids finished.
"Now, about those shorts, young lady," Crosshairs started.
"Hey, I didn't feel like trying to put on jeans today so cut me some slack, please."
"This time only," he teased and sat back against the fence.
I smiled at them and looked around. My smile dropped to a frown when I noticed a certain Autobot missing from this little gathering.
"Where's Bumblebee?" I asked the Autobots.
Jolt stepped forwards to speak with me.
"The night we got back into Chicago, he took off. No one has seen or heard from him since. His communication link has been disabled as well," he explained.
Now, I was worried.
"But, Lynleigh told me he was okay. She said he was just incredibly worried about me."
She gave me an apologetic look and Jolt shook his head.
"She lied. Why do you think I hit her?" Jason asked.
I just rolled my eyes.
"Do you know why he left?"
"Is it not obvious?" Roadbuster asked me.
"The person he cares most about on Earth almost died. That night, we were all told that you had a very slim chance in making it because of your single head injury. You had been unconscious for far too long and it didn't look like you were waking up any time soon.
"Bumblebee didn't take that news very well. He nearly caused an plane crash. When we landed he immediately took off. No warning or nothing. He thinks you're dead, Rosalie," Will explained to me.
"I need to find him," I stated.
"I doubt you'll get far," Epps told me.
My mind immediately swept back to a year ago. The night Bee and I had our talk just down the street from the locker rooms. That was the night my 'hole' began patching itself up.
I remember one time last year when I accidentally hurt Bumblebee's feelings. I don't remember exactly what happened, but it had something to do with my mom. That night, he took off and when my dad went to town, he told me he had seen a random yellow Camaro just sitting in a field about a mile up the street from the lake.
I instantly perked up with realization. Quickly, I handed a sleeping Avery to Will and marched to the house.
"Where are you going, Rose?" Jason asked me.
"To get Bee."
"You're not going to find him," Drift said.
"Oh trust me. I will. Joshua, I'm taking your car. I'll be back in a little while," I called and limped as fast as I could back into the house.
I passed by my dad who was asleep on the sofa and headed over to the key hook by the door. After grabbing Joshua's keys, I headed out the front door and to the black Range Rover in my driveway. I quickly got in and sped off to the field, silently thanking God that I didn't sprain my right ankle instead.
Since I lived in the southern part of Chicago, it took me a good twenty minutes to reach the lake and another five minutes just to reach the field. As I pulled into the field, out in the distance I noticed a large yellow figure. It was definitely Bumblebee. I guess he didn't care whether he was seen or not at this point. .
He didn't bother to turn around as I pulled further and further into the field. I stopped about fifty feet away from him and got out. He still wasn't paying attention to me, so I limped over to him.
"Excuse me, hotshot. I know you can hear me," I called to him.
The sound of my voice made him stiffen and he turned around slowly. His optics widened every so slightly and a whir escaped his receptors.
"How are you alive?" he asked through the radio.
"If you wouldn't have ran off, you'd know."
He rolled his optics.
"Why did you run off?" I asked him.
He gave me a dumb look.
"Really?"
"Yes really. I'm not playing. That was so stupid. And disabling your com-link. I should really hit you. Everyone's worried about you," I exclaimed.
"You. I thought you were dead. It was the way it seemed anyway. I was upset and I felt lost. You're my best friend and I don't wish to be without you," he answered in his true voice.
"Now you know how it feels, don't you?"
He nodded.
"Yes. It hurts thinking you've lost someone that you truly care about."
"It also sucks knowing that you have lost someone that you truly care about, Bumblebee."
"I'm very well aware," he responded.
I propped myself up on to his foot.
"Well, you don't have to mope anymore. I'm fine and very much alive," I assured him.
I heard a sad whir.
"You won't be forever."
"What do you mean?"
"You're going to get older and you're going to die. A human lives barely one percent of what Cybertronians do. Years from now, I'll lose my best friend for the third time," he explained.
"Exactly. Years from now you will, but right now you don't need to worry about it. I actually feel sorry for you having to put up with me and my family for all those years. I feel sorry for all of you," I chuckled.
"I don't mind it much. You're a very interesting group of people," he said.
"But still. Don't think ahead. Think about now. You're not going to lose me anytime soon. I promise. Now. .stop being a little bitch and get your ass back to the Stalin household," I told him.
I hopped off of his foot and stepped back. He gave me a look but transformed into his alternate mode.
"Don't you dare leave until I do! I might crash, to be honest," I said and walked to the car.
He revved his engine at me, but I ignored him and hopped in. I started the car and turned around before heading out of the field with Bumblebee on my tail.
It took a matter of thirty minutes to get back home considering Bumblebee was tailgating me the entire way and was annoying the piss out of me. He even nudged the rear end of the car just to tell me to go faster.
He didn't bother pulling into the drive way though. Instead, he cut through the side yard and transformed before he jumped over the damn fence. Hopefully he didn't injure anybody.
Annoyed, I limped back to the backyard. I unlatched the fence and slammed it shut, all eyes turning to me.
"What's wrong with you?" Gracie chuckled.
"Him," I exclaimed and pointed at Bumblebee.
"What happened?" Lynleigh asked.
"Let's just say, I'm never driving again."
Bee laughed and I walked over to stand by Gracie. I noticed that there were fewer people and Autobots here than when I left.
"Where's everyone at?" I asked.
"Well, Will went in to put Avery to sleep and then he left to go back to KSI, along with Epps. My parents went on back to their hotel. Probably to screw or something. Joshua is inside because it's too cold for him out here, and the Autobots that aren't your guardians headed to KSI aside from Optimus, obviously," Gracie explained.
I snickered.
"Oh. Okay. That explains a lot."
"Yeah, but we got you some cake!" Jason called.
He walked over to us. He was holding a plate that held a massive chocolate cake. My eyes perked up, but before I knew it I was covered in chocolate icing. I heard a thud followed by laughter and reached up to wipe the frosting out of my eyes. It was a good thing the cuts on my face were healing up or this would sting like hell. I glared at my older brother.
"You think you're funny?" I asked.
"No, but this is going to be after I post it on Twitter. Smile for the camera," he cheered.
His phone was already aimed at me and when the flash came, I just stood there.
"This is amazing," Lynleigh laughed as she snapped pictures of my face as well.
I just flicked them off.
"You guys are so lucky I can't run or I'd kick your asses!"
They just laughed. I grabbed a towel off of the table and wiped my face off until no more icing was left. After I finished, I walked back over to my family, nearly stepping in the pile of cake in the process.
"I am not cleaning that up," I joked. "You know, I'm really happy right now."
"Why is that?" Gracie asked.
"Because, even though you just threw cake in my face and even though Bumblebee is a shitty driver, it's finally over. We don't have to fight anymore, guys. And plus, there's nobody else and no other bots that I'd rather be with right now. I love you guys more than anything," I explained.
"Aw. She loves us," Jason said and came to hug me.
Lynleigh and Gracie followed him and engulfed me in a hug as well. I let them go and turned to the Autobots.
"I wish I could hug all five of you. Even Mr. Hard Ass over there," I said and pointed to Crosshairs.
He playfully rolled his eyes at me and smiled. The Autobots knelt down to my level.
"Your affection for us is admirable, young Rose. We feel the same way about you and your family. I have never met such a selfless and brave group of humans. We are glad to call you our friends," Optimus said.
"Not to mention that watching you lot is like watching a comedy show that should've been canceled long ago," Hound laughed.
"Is that a good or a bad thing?" Lynleigh asked.
"It could be good or bad. Depends on which way you take it," he told her.
"She takes it in the butt," Jason called.
He was walking back towards the house. I had to cover my mouth to keep from laughing. Lynleigh ran after him and I turned back to the bots.
"That's exactly what I was talking about," Hound stated as he shook his head.
"I'm just so happy to be home," I gushed.
I had never been happier either. Being with my family and the Autobots without having to worry about any danger was the best feeling in the world and I prayed it stayed that way.
*The house in the picture is in no way what Rosalie's house looks like in the story. Just letting you know lol.*
