FOG OF WAR

Beth's POV

"Ok tell me again." I say to Clarke as her, Bellamy and I are sitting at a table talking about Mount Weather.

"It's a Labyrinth, we got to the dam through this tunnel. It's all connected to the mine system, that's our way in." Clarke says.

"Are you sure we can get past the Reapers and the Mountain Men?" Bellamy asks. "I swear to god if your mom doesn't sanction the mission soon I'm going by myself."

"You won't be by yourself." Clarke says.

"Hell no you won't be." I say. The two look at me. "Reapers took Lincoln, maybe he's still alive." I say. I see Finn approach.

"Guess the inquisitions over. How's Finn doing anyway?" Bellamy asks us.

"Good, I guess. He's apologized a million times to me." I say.

"I haven't talked to him since we got back. I don't know what to say, he just kept shooting." Clarke says.

"We're at war, Clarke, we've all done things." Bellamy says.

"Hey." Finn says to Clarke when he walks up. He looks at me and gives me a small smile. I smile back. "Hey." He says to Bellamy. Bellamy grabs our cups.

"Next rounds on me." He says and gets up and leaves.

"Mount Weather, what's the plan?" Finn asks Clarke.

"Still working on it." Clarke says. Murphy walks over and sits next to me.

"Check it out, salvageable still from the dropship. Guess we still could've salvaged Monty's too. Easy just a joke. K you uh tell her we're cleared." He says.

"No." Finn replies.

"Looks like our pardon for surviving includes living on the ground bigger fish to fry I guess." Murphy says. I nod.

"We did what we have to do. I gotta go." Finn says and leaves. I sigh.

Murphy whistles. "Trouble in paradise?" He asks Clarke.

"Just because they pardoned you doesn't mean I have." Clarke says to him.

He looks at me. "You shot my best friend. I may agree with you on half the things you have said but you're not pardoned with me." I say to him. He nods

"Clarke. Beth. Beat it Murphy." Raven says walking up. She sits next to me.

"Well then, I'm gone." Murphy leaves.

"I know why we haven't heard from any other Ark stations, Mount Weather's jamming us." Raven says.

"Show us." I say to her.

Raven leads Clarke and I away to Engineering.

"I tweaked the resonator and got this. It's on every frequency. Long range communication is totally screwed. It's the same reason the range for our walkies sucks. It's the same signal Monty heard in the black box of the Exodus ship." Raven explains.

"Mount Weather crashed the Exodus ship. Can you get around the signal?" I ask Raven.

"Around it no. But if I can get to the tower that broadcasts it I can make it go boom." She says.

"No one is going anywhere." Abby says. I roll my eyes.

"Mom, please." Clarke says.

"What do I have to do the get through to you? You and your friends are not soldiers and continuing to act like you are, puts lives at risk."

"We're not soldiers?" I ask her. I scoff. "No, you're not. You might have guards and people to fight but none of you know the actual dangers of the ground. You haven't been down here long enough to know them. You think you do but you don't." I say to her. She gives me a hard stare. Raven grabs my arm. I sigh.

"You don't understand, Raven found something. Mount Weather is jamming our communications." Clarke tells her mom.

"It's true. There could be other Ark stations on the ground." Raven says.

"And more guards. You said we don't have enough people to fight a two front war, Mom we already are." Clarke says.

"The grounder retaliation for the massacre could happen at any time and when it does we need every soldier at this camp." Major Byrne says.

"So let us go!" Clarke says.

"You're not gonna stop, are you?" Abby asks.

"Not until my friends are safe." Clarke says.

"Ok but I'm coming with you." Abby says.

"Ma'am I just said-" Abby cuts her off.

"it's been quiet for two days, maybe Kane is making headway the grounders commander." Abby says. They told me when we got back that my dad went to the commander. I'm hoping he's okay.

"Or maybe he's dead. And they're massing against us as we speak." Byrne says.

I walk up to Byrne. "Say my one more time and I don't care if I get locked up, but you will be the next dead." I threaten.

"Beth." Clarke says. I glare at Byrne but sigh and walk back to Raven. I was mad and stressed.

"Maybe, which is why we need more guards." Abby says.

"Then it's settled, we're going back to the Mount Weather." Clarke says.

I was walking with Octavia and Bellamy now, it was day.

"I can't believe they let him come." Octavia says.

"He's the best tracker we got." Bellamy says.

"He's the only tracker we got now." I say.

We walked for a little while, separating from the group.

"According to the Clarke, and the bombs the buildings everywhere here. I'm guessing some of them has access to the bunker so we're looking ruins anything that's manmade ok?" Bellamy says.

"Hey! Hey! Let's go right now!" Sgt. Scott yells at us. We turn and look at him and two other guards.

"In case you've forgotten, we're not under your command." Bellamy says.

"Don't make us do this the hard way." Scott says.

"Come on Scott, 47 of our people are prisoners in this mountain." Bellamy says.

"That's why we're here." I scoff at his words.

"Wrong you're out here to find other stations of the Ark. We're out here to find our friends." Bellamy says.

We notice insects running away beneath them.

"Bell." Octavia says. We watch the things run.

"What are they doing?" Scott asks.

"Running." Bellamy says. "Acid fog! We need cover now!" My eyes widen as I watch the fog come closer. Octavia grabs my arm and points somewhere. I nod and we follow them.

"O! Beth! O! Get back here!" Bellamy yells when O and I see a door.

"Bell, there's something in here! Maybe there's some ruins." Octavia yells.

"Hey! Hey! Over here!" Bellamy yells to the others as we try and open it. Scott comes and helps.

"Come on pull!"

"Hurry up!" I yell.

We pry the door open and run inside, they yell for the other guards to get in but one is swallowed by the acid fog.

"No! No!" Scott yells.

Bellamy, Octavia, Sgt. Scott, another Guard and I are searching the Reaper tunnels.

"Where are we?" Scott asks.

"It's like a garage." Bellamy says.

"More like a tomb." I say. Octavia nods, agreeing.

"Look I'm sorry about your man but we need to find an access door to Mount Weather." Bellamy says and goes to walk.

"Hey not so fast." Scott says.

"Sir, that fog will keep us pinned down for another- " Bellamy starts but notices Scott's gun. He hands it to Bellamy.

"We'll split up, be back in fifteen. Be safe." Scott says. I nod.

"Let's go." Bellamy says to O and I wand we walk away from the other two as they go the other way.

We soon heard music playing. "What the hell?" I ask. The two siblings shrug.

Octavia, Bellamy and I follow the music.

"What's that? Are you there?" Bellamy asks.

"Bell, what's that?" I asks.

We find the reapers feasting on bodies and Bellamy shoots them.

"O..." Bellamy says.

"What?" She asks him.

"Take this. Both of you." Bellamy says and hands us both guns.

We look around. I look wide eyed. Lincoln, eating Scott.

"Don't. It's Lincoln." I say. Lincoln looks up and approaches us.

"Lincoln! Lincolns it's me! It's Beth! It's Beth!" I yell but its like he doesn't understand me. He keeps coming towards us.

I shoot him the leg as he lunges for me and Bellamy knocks him out. I look at Lincoln, wide eyed. They turned him. How?

"We need to get somewhere same." Bellamy says.

We were hiding in one of the cars. I had my head in my hands.

"He's a reaper. How is it even possible, he just looked right through me?" I ask them.

Lincoln approaches the car we were in.

"How he's just-?" I ask.

"I don't know. Shh just listen to me, we'll get him back I promise." Bellamy says. I take a deep breath and nod.

He's alive. I need to get him out alive. I can't lose Lincoln, not after knowing he's alive.

We were in the tunnels. It was mine job to get Lincoln's attention then Bellamy is gonna knock him out. And hopefully we can save him. I don't know what I'm gonna do if I lose him, again.

"Sure you're ready for this?" He asks me. I nod. "Ok, draw him in, I'll do the rest."

"Lincoln! Lincoln, can you hear me!" I call out.

Lincoln approaches me and Bellamy shocks him to knock him out.

"Now what?" Octavia asks her brother.

"Now we take him home."

The dropship.
