Battle Of Liberty

I woke up feeling quite sick, closing my eyes and opening them again, feeling strangely sick. My head felt dizzy and my throat was parched.

"Oh man."

I moved towards the bathroom and took my time getting ready, also feeling less pain on my hand. Washing my face, brushing my teeth, I moved towards my wardrobe and was going to get ready when I felt my entire vision fade slightly. I was now against the wall, sliding down it as my body ached with pain. My eyes tightened at the enormous pain.

"Emma." I heard a slightly voice call. I closed my eyes before opening them.

"Em." I saw the door being opened.

My mom and dad were standing there looking quite curious but also confused, their eyes immediately fell onto me as they rushed over to me.

"What's wrong?" My mom was cradling me.

"I'll call the ambulance." My words shot up.

"No, please don't." I tried but it came out slightly loud and very much quiet. My parents, my family don't know about my speed and I don't think anyone would be pleased to know the 'Aqua Girl' is me.

"I'll call the lab." He offered as he pulled his phone out.

"Dr Bray, you need to come now. Emma's in pain." I heard that as my body was heating up.

"It's going to be alright, honey." My mom spoke, all I could see was the blurry faces of my parents.

I was feeling extremely hot and burning. I moved my hands from my tummy, but felt something cool glide across my skin. I looked slightly down as my fingers touched my shirt, the red substance which was stained with blood. My mom stared at it in horror but within a flash her expression transferred into warm eyes and a comforting smile making me feel less worried.

Within a couple more minutes my parents were out of the room and the doctors had arrived. I saw Dr Fields, Dr Flynn, Freddy, Chuck and Isabella all at the door. I could hear them talking and looking slightly worried, but calm at the same time.

The lights were switched on and Chuck and Freddy were helping me up onto the bed. I closed my eyes feeling needles already injected into me.

I fluttered my eyes open as I could see a few people in the room. My eyes moved to see Dr Fields and Isabella staring at either a few pictures on my wall or typing away.

"You're awake." I heard a voice say, I saw Isabella move her eyes towards me from the laptop on her lap.

I moved my hand a little to see a few wires were connected to it. I scrunched my brows slightly, but heard Isabella speak.

"You had a cut near your stomach, a deep wound." Dr Fields spoke.

"It caused you an extraordinary amount of pain considering how you were on the ground clutching onto your stomach. The pressure you were wielding onto your stomach made a difference." Isabella stated as she gestured to my injury.

I glanced at the clock on the wall, it was now, 12:00. Was I unconscious for three hours?

"You were." Dr Fields answered my question.

"Take rest and drink lots of water." Dr Fields advised.

"Don't do anything too physical, for which in your case won't be very helpful, but still stay away for a little while." Isabella nodded as they walked out.

"Thank you." I gently called before they were leaving. I saw Dr Fields offer a warm smile as Isabella smiled in response.

I still felt tired and really exhausted for some reason. I closed my eyes again as I tried to fall asleep only thinking about trying not to corrupt any pain from my wrapped up wound as I slightly moved.

I heard a few voices in the room belonging to my brother and my sister. They were discussing about something, that was maybe a little too humourous. I blinked a couple of times, seeing my siblings were now staring at me.

"You're up?" Lilly questioned.

"How long did you hear this conversation for?" She looked quite worried.

I nodded my head with a grin slipping off my lips.

"She's got something on me, now. Great, thanks a lot, Derek." Lilly slapped her thigh.

"Me? - Why are you blaming me?" Derek asked whipping his head towards Lilly looking bewildered at her comment.

"If you didn't say this, this wouldn't have had happened."

"As if that's true, you're the loud mouth here." Derek shot back.

"That's not true!" I heard Lilly fire back, as they looked ready to pounce on each other. I just wanted to laugh at my brother and sister's little play fight.

"Hey, hey! What's going on?" I saw my dad enter the room, looking quite puzzled at the position my siblings were in.

Derek had a stapler in his grasp whereas Lilly had a pillow arched in the air as if she was going to attack him on the spot.

"Before one of you actually get hurt, let's stop." My dad spoke calmly with a tinge of amusement laced in his tone.

A few moments later both siblings walked out the room calmly like little children as my dad glanced at me.

"You're awake, someone's here to see you." My dad spoke giving me a warm hug before he released me.

I saw a famous grey-green eyed boy enter with the usual look on his face. A smile mixed with a slight serious eyebrow impression.

"Hey." He greeted.

"Hi." I was getting up, when Gary came to my aid helping me up.

"Thank you." I smiled as he nodded his head in response.

"How was work?" I asked.

"Not too bad. There's a new girl in the department. She kinda looks like you." Gary admitted as I was curious but never said anything.

"What, does she have the same problem as me, not running?" I playfully spoke as he took a seat on the black arm chair.

"Not sure about that." He thoughtfully spoke.

"She started today."

"So what exactly happened to you?" Gary asked slightly narrowing his eyes as his eyebrows scrunched up.

"Well, uh, I was getting ready to go to work when I felt this excruciating pain ride up along my body. I guess it was unbearable because I was sliding down against the wall. I felt something cool near my stomach and saw it was blood. My doctors rushed right away."

"All of them?" Gary asked arching an hour eyebrow.

"All of them." I nodded my head.

"Wow, are you feeling okay now?"

"Yeah, it's a little sore." I responded.

I saw what I was wearing my blue long sleeved shirt. Previously I was wearing green, guess that was a goner.

"Well hope you get better." Gary nodded.

"I'm coming into work tomorrow." I assured him.

"Are you crazy, no." He shook his head.

"Gary, I'm fine." I tried.

"Winchester you know how you love work and everything, you gotta take a few days off."

"Eight months was enough." I gently answered.

"You're staying." I didn't put up a fight knowing Gary was going to tease me out of it some way.

"Okay."

"Great."

"I got you something." Gary perked up as I stared at him in confusion.

He pulled some thing out of his pocket, it was in a teal velvet square shaped box. I glanced at Gary before staring at the box again.

"What's this?" I asked smiling slowly.

"Open it."

He handed me the box and I opened it up to seeing one beautiful charm. I honestly couldn't believe it, that I couldn't stop smiling.

"This is so beautiful."

"I know right, it's me after all." Gary kid as I laughed.

"But I also have something for you." I spoke as he looked confused.

I moved my hand to the draw next to my bed and opened it, there was a dark blue velvet box in my grasp. I handed it to Gary as he looked quite confused.

"Open it."

He did so and I glanced at him as he stared at it in shock.

"They're alike." He gestured.

"Exactly." I smiled.

"But h-how did you know?"

"I didn't, I was just coming home and this caught my eye."

In Gary's and in my box there were charms, one that held 'Best' and the other 'Friend'. I grabbed my phone from the bedside cabinet and took a photo of both the charms in the box and posted it on to Instagram.

'Best Friend Gifts'

I tagged Gary and into the photo as I placed my phone away. Gary took my hand and placed the charm onto my bracelet delicately as it fit perfectly.

Gary handed me his keys as I placed the charm on the key ring as they both fit together. Do you wanna know what the best part of it is?

They're both converse charms.
