Battle Of Liberty

I kept my gaze on the two who were now hugging each other.

"You know what the funny thing is, she has a boyfriend. I met him a few minutes earlier." I heard his voice turn slightly different. From playful to surprise. There was a small silence before I started to speak gently.

"I had a friend who I thought loved this boy." I paused slowly. "Maybe she didn't after all."

I saw Jeremy turn his gaze to me as I saw his facial expression change slightly.

"Let me guess, she didn't want him hurt, but ended up hurting him instead, right?" Jeremy pronounced as I nodded my head slowly keeping my eyes focussed in front of me, away from the two.

"Sometimes we have those friends even if we may never see it." He shrugged.

My eyes moved upwards to see the glimmering stars and the beautiful moon. I blew out a breath as I gazed at the area.

"Do you see those stars up there?" I saw Jeremy's gaze move upwards.

"Those stars are gas clouds that are formed to make stars. Interstellar. Gas clouds may be seen as something not always caught by the eye, but when they make a star they shine like nobody has seen before, creating an array of light that reflects throughout everywhere in the world." I saw Jeremy gaze at the stars as he was taking in what I was saying.

"Your friend may have done something you may not have liked. Your neighbour has done something as well. But whatever they've done will come to light. Even if starts up first as something dark."

I saw Jeremy nod his head with a smile falling upon his lips, as the two had already dispersed away.

"I guess so."

I felt my phone ping, pulling it out of my pocket, unlocking it and placing it onto my ear.

"Hey, just wanted to know whether you were okay. I heard what happened." I heard a familiar voice echo softly through my ears.

"I'm fine." I responded with a soft tone.

"That's good. I'd really love to talk with you, Emma. You know catch up over things, what do you say?" I heard the other line filled with hope.

"Okay."

"Great, how about Tuesday?" They asked, I'm sure with a smile of relief.

"Okay."

"See you, Emma."

"See you." I ended the call and placed my phone into my pocket.

"Hey, are you alright?" I heard Jeremy ask slightly worried as I assured him with a nod.

"Okay. Wanna go inside?" He asked. "Because I'm pretty sure you don't want to see those two kissing each other." Jeremy kid trying to make me smile.

"Sure." I smiled as we both went back inside of Ashok's house party.

"There you are." I heard someone say, Jeremy looked slightly confused as I continued walking hearing someone trap him into a conversation.

I took a seat on a stool where the drinks were being served, facing my body towards the dancing people, I saw a familiar face appear to see it was Gary. Once he reached where I was, he shot me a grin before taking a seat next to me.

"Are you still going to ask me to dance with you?" I asked him.

"Of course, because right now, I really don't want to dance with someone I don't know." He nodded.

"Gary!" I heard a few voices squeal as I lifted my head to up to see three girls waving at him.

"Shoot." He breathed out,

"What's wrong, Gary?" I added with a knowing smile, he turned his head to me.

"Do you not want to go to those girls who are calling you to dance with them?" I asked holding in my smile from slipping.

"C'mon, Winchester, you know I'm not going to do that."

"You know I'm messing with you." I flashed a toothy grin.

"Who's ready to dance away?" I heard someone on the stage call into the microphone making everyone roar with cheers.

"Grab a partner and start dancing with them because they'll be with you for the rest of the night. Only then we'll find out who will be the winner of 'Dance till Midnight'." Everyone roared in cheers again as I was too busy keeping my eyes on the wall filled with different signatures, intriguing me.

"Alright, grab a partner everyone." Some people had already gathered their partners, but others had still grabbed a few.

"Ready, partner." Gary began holding out his hand.

"Still don't know why I'm doing this." I felt the corners of my lips rise already seeing Gary shake his head taking my hand.

"You're supposed to say, 'ready as ever' or 'as I'll ever be'." Gary replied, as we got up and started walking.

"Is this your date, Gar?" I heard someone say as I saw who it was. They extended their hand out to me.

"Jake, Jake Tavern." That surname seemed familiar, as in Jeremy Tavern.

"You may have met my brother, Jeremy here." I glanced at their hand before nodding my head slowly as I shook their hand.

"Emma."

"Nice to meet you." He offered a smile.

"You too."

"This is Valerie."

"Hi, nice to meet you." The girl offered her hand out to me as I shook it.

"Emma, nice to meet you too."

I saw Jake and Jeremy had identical features, the same beach blonde hair, the mysterious green eyes and adorable smile, the only thing they shared different was that Jake had slightly a bit more pinky cheeks.

"Good luck out there." Valerie smiled.

"You too." She walked away with Jake as Gary and I headed towards the dance floor.

I wasn't paying much attention o what the DJ was saying, but I did hear a few wolf-whistles and cheers going on amongst the crowd.

"Winchester." I glanced at Gary as I saw him extend his hand out to me, taking hold of it, I heard the booming music play, with the lights down low to give it a better vibe.

"What's up?" Gary asked moving his feet as I just stared at him.

"Nothing, why do you ask?" I asked.

"You looked like you were thinking about something."

"Yeah, how many people are here." My eyes scanned the crowd as Gary's eyes followed too.

"Never mind that, the main thing is that you're with the Gar-myster." Gary flashed a set of teeth smiling as I chuckled at his playfulness.

"So you're bound to have fun and look awesome along the way." He joked.

"Whatever you say, Gary."

"Sorry, Gar-myster." We both laughed as Gary and I both continued to laugh and dance.
