Battle Of Liberty

I was aloud to leave the lab and started heading home. I remembered that I'd have to go to a party with Gary, which meant I had to without a choice. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate parties, I just choose not to go to many.

Reaching home, I wanted to sleep for a while, but figured of getting dressed, slowly.

I know, with incredible speed why don't I use it to change within six seconds, I would but I'm sure that I'd fall or experience some dizzy spells.

Looking through my closet, I found something I wouldn't wear all the time and pulled the outfit out. Together it was a light blue skater dress with pockets, leggings and a pair of TOMS in black. I added a leather sort of material jacket on top. I brushed through my hair and left it in its state not wanting to do anything more to it.

Placing my phone into my pocket, I moved out of my room and down the steps to hear the doorbell. I went down the last two steps and opened the door to see it was Gary dressed up in black jeans, a blue under shirt and a black jacket. His hair was in it's natural quiff like side state.

"You look pretty." He complimented as I offered him a small smile.

"Thank you, you don't look bad yourself." He chuckled as he spoke.

"Ready to go?" I nodded my head as we both started heading in the direction of Ashok's party. It wasn't a far walk but it was nice walking in the fresh breeze in the night.

"I see you're feeling better." Gary built up the conversation.

"Yeah, I guess it was all the speed." I responded.

"Huh?" Gary was confused.

"From CSI to the Lab." I tried to explain better.

"You are one crazy girl, Winchester." Gary shook his head.

"Isn't that why you became friends with me in the first place?" I joked.

"Sure it was." He chuckled earning me to laugh with him as we reached Ashok's house, already hearing the booming sound of music and lights, cars parked up and a few people outside talking to their friends or making new friends.

Gary knocked on the door, as the door flew open to reveal a very stunned yet happy Ashok.

"There are my two favourite people." He grinned as he made way for us to enter the house.

"I've been waiting for you two, but I wasn't worried you weren't going to come, because let's face it, we all knew you were gonna come." Ashok joked as Gary just shook his head with a smile slipping.

"Emma. Haven't seen you in what eight months, how are you?" Ashok asked.

"I'm well, how are you?" I asked, seeing Ashok looking happy.

"Pretty good. Business is going great, plus this is to all the jokes we had in high school." I saw Ashok take his phone out receiving a phone call.

"Alright, I'm gonna go attend this call, I'll be back, have fun." He spoke leaving Gary and I.

"Let's go somewhere else." Gary spoke as he extended his hand out to me. I took it before we both moved to another room where there were a few others who were either drinking or sitting. The sound of music slightly more quieter than the other rooms.

"Do you want a drink?" I asked him.

"I'll be right back." Gary offered as he moved out of the room.

"Seems like it was a good time to approach." I heard a voice say as I looked up to see someone who looked a little bit older than me, he was in a casual sort of attire and had pushed up blonde hair. I stood up with my frame a little shorter than his.

"I'm Jeremy." He stuck his hand out to me.

"Emma." I shook his hand pulling back afterwards.

"Nice to meet you." He smiled as I nodded my head in response.

"You too."

"Do you go to parties often?" He asked with a small grin.

"I don't really like parties very much." I answered as I saw him nod.

"I kind of agree but I suppose it depends on the cause, right?"

"But what made you come today, don't mind me asking."

"My friend is hosting the party, he wanted me to come. My other friend wanted me to come along as well." I spoke slowly.

"Here's your drink." I heard Gary's voice as he offered me a can filled with Sprite.

"Thanks."

"No worries." He smiled at me turning his gaze to Jeremy.

"Jeremy Tavern." Jeremy stuck his hand out to Gary.

"Gary Avenue, nice to meet you." Gary shook his hand.

"You too, man." Jeremy smiled, a few seconds later a few people were calling Jeremy over.

"I'll see you around, nice to meet you by the way." Jeremy spoke before walking in the direction of where his friends were calling him.

"You too." Gary and I spoke simultaneously slowly.

I opened my Sprite can and started drinking from it pausing a few seconds as Gary was saying something.

"Wanna dance?" He asked grinning, I placed my drink down as we both started heading towards a vacant area to dance in.

The sound of pop music was being played as Gary and I were standing, he held my hands spinning me around making me laugh slightly.

He laughed a long with me as he started speaking, bopping to the beat as I wasn't exactly the best dancer, standing still.

"I've been meaning to ask you this." Gary began as I nodded my head, he stopped bopping to the beat.

"Will you help me with something?"

"What do you need help with?" I asked as he extended his hand out to something pointing in the direction of something. A poster.

"Dance till midnight, last two standing receive a prize." I read slowly.

"Not at all." I calmly stated as Gary stared at me with an astonished expression.

"C'mon, Winchester. Who else could be a better dance partner than you?" He flashed a set of pearly teeth.

"I don't like dancing." I responded.

"Sure, you don't." He drawled out.

"If we win, I'll buy you a milkshake." I heard him say as I smiled at his offer.

"I'll think-."

"You're going to dance with me." Gary nodded his head with a grin slipping like he's won a prize.

"Hey Gary!" I heard someone call, sounding like Ashok. I headed out the room already feeling sick in there as I made my way outside.

The fresh breeze brushing through my hair as my face felt cold, the hotness vanishing away. I closed my eyes before opening them again to feel the wind hitting my face again. It truly felt refreshing.

I stuffed my hands into my pockets feeling the metallic rectangular curved object as well as a packet of gum resting there.

"Needed to clear your mind?" I heard a familiar voice, I turned my head slightly to face Jeremy.

"Have you ever felt that sometimes you don't just understand people." I heard Jeremy say slowly.

"That depends." I slowly spoke with the corner of my sides wanting to lift.

"On what?" He asked intrigued with his eyebrows furrowed slightly.

"What you're talking about." I turned to face him.

"Do you see that guy over there?" He gestured with his chin as I followed to where he was gesturing too. I saw a red head with another girl.

"That's a guy who most likely said wasn't going to be talking to a girl at the party, must've dumped his girlfriend just to have a chance to talk to her." I saw that the girl over there and the guy were looking pretty close. In fact, he was close to leaning in.

"However, that girl most likely didn't have a boyfriend and decided to have some fun, looks like that was all cut out of her mind."

"What makes you say all that?" I asked gently.

"That's my best friend and my neighbour."
