Battle Of Liberty

A few hours later, of doing tests and hearing Dr Flynn discuss about everything, I saw my feet lifting up from the floor again, as well as seeing Freddy look pretty amused.

"Emma, I-." My dad entered and had a stunned expression on his face.

"-bought your files." He stared at me hovering in the air.

"Wh-." He was speechless.

"Oh, thanks dad." I spoke as I saw him glance at me and the floor once again.

"You're-."

"-hovering? Not exactly." I finished his sentence.

"She's actually floating in the air, SSA Winchester." Freddy spoke neutrally.

"Call me, Harvey." My dad spoke nodding his head slowly.

Dr Fields was in charge of everything alongside Chuck who were both in the control room near gadgets and wiring.

"There are Dr Fields and Technologist Clifton working at the control room and focussing in the wiring." Freddy indicated towards them as they looked up before turning back to me.

"You see, this is all to see whether Emma's movement hasn't changed over the past eight months. Usually to see whether she can still maintain her natural stamina." Isabella maintained without breaking a sweat.

"Harvey, meet Physicist May, she's working closely with us to ensure that Emma is fine." Dr Flynn used as my dad was listening.

"If you want we can lower her down." Chuck spoke through the control room as my dad nodded his head slowly.

I was being lowered down slowly as my feet landed on the ground. I unclipped myself off the wires heading towards my dad who had given me the files.

"Thank you." I saw my dad still looking dazed but Dr Fields assured my dad that I wasn't hovering earlier onwards.

"Don't worry, SSA Winchester, it's all apart of her tests." She nodded her head assuring my dad.

"Call me, Harvey, Dr Fields." She nodded her head smiling as she walked away.

"I'll be, er waiting in the car for you." I looked up at my dad.

"I need to have more tests run on me, you go ahead." I saw my dad confused for a second before he nodded his head and walked out.

"Think he bought it?" Freddy smirked.

"Pretty sure he did." Chuck flashed a pair of teeth in response.

"Right, let's finish with these tests." Isabella commanded as everyone looked her way. Freddy holding a slight frown at the sound of Isabella's tone.

Within at least fifty minutes we had wrapped up more tests than I could remember and I pretty sure they were done for the day. Hopefully for a pretty long time. I breathed out as I unstrapped the strap of the blood pressure tool.

"Everything is pretty normal in you, you're free to go." Dr Fields spoke without hesitating.

"Thank you." I answered in my soft tone getting off the bed and placing my coat on. Feeling the furry texture glide against my fingers as my hands brushed past the fur.

"Yo, Emma!" I looked up whilst fixing my fluffy hood with my fingers seeing Freddy.

"Rest, you've got the day off tomorrow." I smiled at that as I nodded my head,

"You too." I headed out the room but spoke.

"Goodnight, Dr Fields." I saw her turn and stare at me for a second with an emotion before it flickered away.

"Goodnight." I nodded my head with a smile before walking out seeing Dr Flynn with Chuck.

"Goodnight, Dr Flynn. Good night." I smiled at the both of them as they looked up at me and repeated the gesture.

"Goodnight, Winchester."

"Goodnight."

I smiled at both of them before making my way out to bump into Isabella, as she narrowed her eyes slightly.

"Sorry, didn't see you there." I apologised before walking only to be stopped.

"Just watch where you're going." She snapped as I heard her speak.

"Goodnight, Isabella." I smiled to myself as I walked away to hear a small

"Night."

Walking amidst the street lamps and people, with my hood up and my hands stuffed into my pockets, with the rain pitter-pattering down. I heard the sound of passing cars and chatter from the citizens of Elm City. I breathed out as I was taking a turn only to hear something that caught me off guard.

"Kayan! Watch out!" My heard turned around to see a little boy on the middle of the road with his dog on a leash, a heavy loaded truck coming their way. My feet started moving by themselves under instinct towards the boy and his Labrador. Everything was in slow motion as I saw held the boy and his dog before rushing them to safety in the other side of the road, seeing the truck pass by. Seemingly remembering the number plate with a frowned expression.

"Are you hurt in anyway? You and your dog?" I asked turning back to the boy who shook his head.

"Thank you, Miss." The little boy with brown hair and brown eyes smiled at me.

"Call me, Emma."

"What's her name?" I asked gesturing towards his dog who was now sitting on the hard ground.

"Edwina, she's my grandmother's dog." The little boy answered before turning to me.

"How'd you know she was a girl?" The little boy asked me confused.

"When you work with many as me, you seem to pick up on a few things." The boy's eyes widened in astonishment and glee.

I stuck my hand out to Edwina as she held out her paw and shook it slowly. I smiled at the white fluffy dog.

"You work with the cops?" I nodded my head chuckling slightly at the little boy's expression, standing up.

"That's awesome!" He grinned.

"Kayan!" I heard a voice call as I realised it was the woman who had caught my attention first time.

"Thank goodness, your safe." She hugged him in relief before turning to the dog and breathing out, as she only woofed.

"Thanks to Emma." The little boy known as Kayan gestured to me as his mother released him from their hug.

"Thank you, for saving them." The woman looked towards me as I nodded my head.

"Your welcome." I smiled before hearing Edwina bark.

Heading back home with my hood still up, my hands probably turning pink and my cheeks slightly dampened, I opened the door with my keys and entered, seeing the lights switched off. Pulling my hood down, I took my shoes off feeling the soft rug underneath my socks.

Making my way up the stairs, I headed straight towards my room. Feeling all wet and damp from the rain, I decided to take a shower. However, an idea struck me. I smiled to myself before using my speed to rush to the bathroom and back out already showered, dried and dressed, my hair tied up into a pony tail.

I turned towards the window to close it, but felt myself feel weary, as I used the wall for support. I closed the window and switched off the light, before heading towards my bed, but felt my head spin resulting in me to collapse onto my bed, slowly drifting off.

Hearing the buzz of the alarm clock, my eyes tightened before opening slowly, I stared at my position, my head on the other end of the bed and my feet near the headboard area. I got up but felt the pain rush through my head to only feel flashbacks to yesterday night. I blinked them away, before seeing the time, earning my full attention. 9:15, I'm supposed to get to work by 9:20.

My feet started shuffling on their own and before you know it, I was dressed in my casual type of clothes. With my blue blazer, a black under shirt and black jeans. My converses of course were already placed on and laced up. A piece of lock clipped to the side as I had my hands free from any rings. But only my watch and two bangles whereas on my other hand it held a bracelet. My extra badge was on the desk, I picked it up and gazed at it for a few seconds before clipping it on my jacket.

Going down the steps, I saw the time in the clock, 9:17, my eyes widened, I shuffled towards the kitchen, seeing my mom and Derek.

"Good morning, mom." I smiled.

"Morning, Derek." I smiled as I saw them turn to me.

"Morning." They both replied. Derek was drinking some juice, whereas my mom was drinking now her tea. I grabbed a glass and poured some orange juice and downed it before grabbing an apple and bit into it, before finishing the contents, washing my hands and drying them before heading out the door.

The moment I closed the door, I breathed out racing off to work, passing by the people of Elm City. Reaching the police station, I stopped feeling my head spin again, blinking it back.

I started walking again, straightening my jacket, as I was approaching the conversation of Agent Hall, Captain, my dad, Gary, Lance, Ulrich and Cadence. I glanced at the clock seeing I was right on time.

"...this job is incompetent for a person like me." I heard Detective Hall say breathlessly.

"Suppose you shouldn't have said that the other night, Hall." Ulrich spoke sipping his coffee with a tint of humour in his voice.

"I don't know how your daughter does it, Harvey. That girl must be ballistic if she can do this."

"Didn't hear correctly, Hall." Captain Rifer spoke earning Hall to breathe out.

"This job is very difficult." I heard him breathe out heavily.

"Don't worry, sir. I'm sure you won't have to do it again." I spoke earning everyone to turn around.

"So she does speak." Cadence spoke seemingly marvelled.

"Winchester." I heard Gary's voice as he opened his arms for me, I, smiling and giving him the hug as I heard Cadence speaking to Ulrich,

"They are quite the pair."

"Good to see you, kid." Ulrich hugged as he placed his coffee cup to the side.

"You too." I nodded with a small smile.

"You're alive and all that matters." Lance chuckled as he gave me a warm hug.

"Thank, God! You're back, Ella-."

"-Emma."

"-Emma, without you kid, I wouldn't know what I'd been doing, if you weren't here." He breathed out walking off.

"Nice to see you, Emma. How are you feeling?" He asked.

"Thank you, sir. I'm feeling better. And it's good to be back." I smiled as he nodded his head, before walking away.

"When we're going to tell me, that you were going to be coming to work today?" My dad asked as I stared at him.

"I couldn't stay away from work."

"With Hall thinking his time in the forensic division is over, the man will probably be going for a vacation." Cadence shook his head.

"Finally." I heard Ulrich say enabling Gary and Lance to hold their laughter.

"Well, it's good to have you back, Em." He smiled as I returned the gesture, my dad walking off with Ulrich, Cadence and Lance after he finished his humoured conversation with Gary.

Gary glanced at me and spoke.

"Wanna see your office?" He asked as I nodded my head.

The both of us walking up the steps and agents, officers and detectives all greeting me along the way, I returned them back with a smile.

"It's good to see you back up in your feet again, Winchester." I heard Natalie, an analyst say as she engulfed me into a hug. I returned the gesture before Natalie walked with Meyer, another detective. I carried on walking with Gary, already smiling to myself confusedly.

"You were missed very much." I heard Gary say with a humour filled expression in his lips.

"I guess I was." I responded slightly stunned and surprised.
