Battle Of Liberty

I placed the beaker on the table again as Dr Fields started analysing me and possibly the way I ran to save maybe ethane from spilling onto the floor.

"So this isn't just about your bones, it's about your entire cardiovascular system and how quickly you move." Dr Fields spoke as I realised that the helmet was off of my head when I was rushing to save the chemical.

"I don't think we're going to run a couple of tests more like fifty two tests are required." I breathed out slowly as I realised this was going to be a very long day.

A couple of hours of drinking and eating and being tested, everything seemed positive for me, however, everything felt different in my eyes.

"Dr Fields." I called as she turned around.

"Do you think lightning may enhance features?" She stared at me urging for me to continue.

"I realised that I see things differently, not from my previous perspective." I spoke in my natural gentle tone.

"Well, I suppose you could say that, since there are different circumstances. Lightning — okay, people tend to say lightning kills you because of the powerful bolt created that strikes you, however, what happened to you is something miraculous. You're lucky, Emma." She nodded her head as she slowly spoke allowing me to take in her words.

"Lightning gave you the power to run." I stared at my shoes as she sat down.

"What's wrong?" I looked up at her.

"What do you mean?" I asked smiling naturally.

"For, the time I've known you, you seem like you're upset about something." She paused. "Wanna talk about it?"

"I used to be a soccer player." Dr Fields stared at me with furrowed brows allowing me to continue.

"When I mean used to, I mean I would play for a huge team, in Elm City. My school held the title for champions for eight years." I smiled.

"Soccer meant everything to me." I heard some footsteps shuffling this way, it was none other than, Dr Flynn and Freddy coming in debating about something.

"I'm telling you, Freddy, Miles only bought it in once."

"How could you not tell me?"

"Miles is Dr Bray's brother, one day Miles bought in a prized possession, which is a glow in the dark glass ball, signed by none other than Paul Mark. Or in other words, Freddy's hero."

"You knew too?" Freddy asked pointing his attention to Dr Fields.

She only shrugged slightly and turned to her computer as Freddy shook his head.

"C'mon, Hannah, I thought we were a team."

"We are, it's just you were on vacation that time."

"Unbelievable, guys. Just so you know, I bought you all gifts, clearly none of you deserve them." Freddy regarded as I heard Dr Fields chuckle.

"He can be a handful." Dr Flynn shook his head.

"Winchester, you can head home if you want, but I advise you to stay and rest." I nodded my head as I heard Dr Flynn talk to Dr Fields about something.

"You know, Emma, you should really focus on where you are going to tackle the ball not always on your opponent, that's not how you always win."  I was thinking back to when my dad would always coach me.

"The best way to win is believe and deceive. Terrible combination. I know."

I smiled as I remembered those words, from when I would play soccer, with my friends in Elm City, going to Comp City and even Shade City, the two places where people would say, 'she'd always remember how to drop jaws and turn heads'.

"What do you think, Emma?" Freddy asked.

"I'm sorry, can you repeat that?" I asked slowly drawing back into the conversation.

"What do you think about when you think of lightning?"

"Red, The Flash, Fast."

"That's quite surprising that you never said anything about being dangerous." Freddy placed his finger near his chin.

"But The Flash, is pretty awesome. Gimme some." Freddy spoke as he pulled his fist out as I bumped his fist with my very own with a smile.

"I mean, it doesn't really affect me." I slowly spoke at the 'dangerous' part.

"Doesn't really affect you. Okay, hot shot." I slipped a grin at Freddy's choice of words.

"You should rest, Winchester. We're going to be running tests tomorrow, ensuring that you're not under any danger or to see if anything changes." I nodded my head as Dr Flynn spoke.

"See you, kiddo." I waved at Freddy as he shot me a smile. Dr Fields gave me a small smile as she dispersed away, leaving Dr Flynn behind.

"I see that you zoned out. Were you thinking about something or daydreaming?" Dr Flynn asked as he was sat in a chair.

"I was just thinking back to something." I slowly spoke.

"Understood." He nodded as he got up from his chair. "You should get some rest." I nodded my head as I saw him walk off.

"Goodnight, Dr Flynn."

"Night, Winchester." He called as he walked away.
