🎀Here are the tropes and cliches I've used for the story: 

🎀 Characters with darker features being less attractive than lighter features: this is a common occurrence on media, usually a white brunette being less attractive and the blonde being the prettier one. In this story, this is the case of Diamond and Alexis. 

(Example in media: Sophie (blonde) and Agatha (brunette )from school of good and evil)

🎀 Beautiful people have it easier: that's very obvious (it's a cliche I'm sick of. I'll be subverting this in future stories. Please comment if you're sick of this cliche)

Teen cliches:

🎀 The mean blonde queen bee and her (usually 2) sidekicks: Diamond and her sidekicks Colette and Autumn. Except unlike teen shows, they are not one dimensional, Diamond is insecure and jealous about Alexis, Colette is just peer pressured. (I'll be developing Autumn's character in the oneshots, and give Colette and Autumn skills)

🎀 Teen parties behind parents backs: in teen shows, if you get caught hosting a party by your parents, you're in hot soup. 

🎀 Cliques: jock, nerd, geek etc. and sitting at separate tables. 

🎀 The mean popular kids: popular kids in teen shows are almost always portrayed as mean.

🎀 The brainy brunette: Alexis herself

🎀 "I can't be seen in this crappy car!" : or van, in this case. In the chapter, the blasting pool party, Kiara tells her mother to drop her off where others can't see her because she's embarrassed of her parents jobs. 

Whenever someone has broke parents, and the parent drops them off, they'll request for the vehicle to be driven towards a blind spot because "i can't be seen in this crappy car!"

🎀 Popular kids using nerds: as shown when Autumn revealed she convinced Scarlet to bribe the nerds in "partying at Scarlet's house", and Diamond, Lily and Autumn used some nerds for homework.

🎀 Love at first sight: Lily when she falls for Eric. Because he's hot 🙄. 

And here are the cliches I've avoided: 

🎉The ugly duckling: when the nerd takes off her glasses and lets down her hair! Oh my! She's hot all along! Usually she does this to get some hot crush 🙄. In this case, Alexis focuses more on her dreams and future than teen nonsense. Also Alexis has acne, so if she ever glows up, it's not gonna be that simple...

🎉 Beauty= talentless: most of the beauties in the story are not talentless. 

🎉 All popular kids are mean airheads: Colette isn't actually evil. And she's not stupid or shallow. Despite her grades dropping, she's managed to retain a c average and rather do homework herself. 

🎉All nerds are nice: especially Ethan, as shown in "acts of malice "

🎉 Parties with alcohol and drugs: in teen shows, almost all parties would have these. 

🎉Lose your virginity or you're a loser: I originally planned on Lily to send mocking posts to Alexis about losing her virginity to Eric, but I scrapped it because it might be inappropriate especially since this book isn't mature. 

🎉The dumb blonde: none of the blondes ,even the pretty ones, Diamond and Colette, are idiots. 

🎉 That one dimensional best friend: sometimes, the protagonist would have a loyal best friend whose willing to drop everything for them, and has little to no identity out of being the best friend. 

In Alexis case, Lily betrayed Alexis instead of always being there for her, and Lily does have goals: to become an aspiring artist. And skills: drawing. She mainly doesn't like Alexis because of jealousy, not because "you are ugly!"

As for Kiara, I'll be developing her character in the oneshots. 

🎉 "Oops! I must've accidentally invited everyone else!": there's a teen party, the host's parents return, demanding what's going on. The host always responds: "I must've accidentally invited everyone else!" And the parents weren't having it and kicked everyone out. 

So far in this book, this cliche isn't present. 

🎉 Tragic= bad outcome. As usual, the one with a bad background becomes evil, but NOT in this story. 

🎉 The love interest: every teen story protagonist desperately needs a love interest... No. Alexis doesn't. For now.
