Instructions

How to Play?

To join the game, submit your lord/knight OC in the chapter called "Form". New chapters will be published on a regular basis (1-2 day intervals). The chapter will list the news, lord stats, and knight stats for that day. Game commands and roleplaying are done in the comments section. You can start your own chains to begin roleplaying. One chapter represents a month while three chapters represent a season. Roleplaying is not required and does not affect the game stats at all, but it does help to make it more fun for everyone.

To do an action, you need to submit a command. Commands describe what action you are doing. They start with a "/", for example, /Pay Lord Valdur 20 gold. End your command with your name in brackets: /Pay Lord Valdur 20 gold (Lord Etton). Unlike previous games, no energy is required for actions.

Submit your non-battle commands in your own chain. You can start this chain yourself.

An admin will reply to your command and tell you if it was successful. If your commands were successful then they will reply with something like: "Commands successful". If one or more of them are not successful, then they will reply with something like: "Not enough gold to pay Lord Valdur."

Battles usually involve several players. In this case, a new battle chain will be started and players who join this battle will reply to this chain.

Example:

Lord Etton: /Attack Lord Valdur (Lord Etton) 10 6 5

-> [Reply] Lady Selina: /Defend Lord Valdur (Lady Selina) 0 0 10

-> [Reply] Lord Max: /Attack Lord Valdur (Lord Max the Amazing) 100 0 0

-> [Reply] Admin: Lord Etton and Lord Max won the battle. Lord Etton lost 5 militia. Lady Selina lost 10 knights. Lord Max lost 50 militia. Lord Valdur lost 10 militia, 2 footmen, and 10 knights.

It is very important to make sure the format of your battle commands is correct otherwise the program we are using may not understand it.

These instructions will list each command you can use and how to read them. The parts in square brackets are variables that you can change. The parts in soft brackets are variables that often do not change. Such as your name. Square brackets are omitted when writing the command while soft brackets are kept.

Example instruction:

/attack [Some lord] (Your name) [Number of militia] [Number of footmen] [Number of knights]

Example usage:

/attack Lord Valdur (Lord Etton) 10 6 5

Factions

These factions are heavily based on "Prophesy of Pendor", an amazing mod for Mount and Blade. I do not own Mount and Blade or Prophesy of Pendor, nor are they my original ideas.

Sarleon

Sarleon is the most central kingdom of Pendor and once the seat of the old Pendorian kings. Lords of Sarleon rule over some of the most fertile lands in Pendor. To the West of Sarleon are the Fierdsvain. To the North are the Ravenstern. Currently, no forces occupy the capital, save for the holy soldiers of the Church of Jaysus.

Sarleon lords get +2 gold from each land.

Fierdsvain

The Fierdsvain are a mighty people who descend from old sea raiders that settled the coast many decades ago. Today, their army rivals even that of Sarleon. They boast the strongest heavy infantry in Pendor and are not afraid to use them. To the West of Fierdsvain is the sea. To the North are the Ravenstern. To the East is Sarleon.

Fierdsvain lords get to recruit a special unit: Lvl 4 Champion. Champions cost 28 gold to buy and have 1 gold upkeep.

Ravenstern

Centuries ago, the northern Pendorian lords stood alone against a giant host of raiders. Their appeals of help to the southern lords were in vain. Soon after, they formed their own kingdom and cut ties with the southerners whom they now actively subvert through political and military means. Their cold lands often dissuade large armies of southern lords from attacking.

Ravenstern lords get +5 HP when defending their lands (the attackers usually need about 10 excess militia to match).

Church of Jaysus

The Church of Jaysus finds its roots in an old mythical story of a man who set the world ablaze in fire and turned the land to ash. Those who denied him were slaughtered by the true believers. Each cycle of the world requires cleansing, which means people must be sacrificed to this diety daily just to maintain order. The followers of this religion spread the teachings of Jaysus throughout the land and warn of a day when the true believers will spring up and overthrow the nonbelievers in a glorious battle of the ages. An old king of Sarleon pledged his allegiance to this religion, and from then on, new kings of Sarleon were crowned by the Mackabee of the church, the spiritual leader, and lords had to pay monthly taxes to sustain the church. Warriors of the church dedicate their lives to the protection of their religion. In any time of crisis, church doctrine dictates that these soldiers be used for the defence of the church and cannot be used to jeopardize the church's neutrality in any conflict between lords.

The Chruch of Jaysus doesn't have to pay any troop upkeep, but also cannot attack any lords.

The Armies of Death

The Armies of Death are coming to destroy all...

The Black Knight doesn't have to pay any troop upkeep, but also cannot attack any lords until he is ordered to.

NPC Lords

Good-natured NPC lords will remain neutral, only marking people as enemies if they get attacked first (1/10 chance each turn). This will happen at the start of the turn.

Bad-natured NPC lords will attack anyone at random (1/10 chance each turn). This will happen at the start of the turn.

Cunning/opportunistic NPC lords will attack any player lord who attacks someone else. This will happen at the end of the turn.

Each turn, NPC lords will recruit either nothing, nothing, 2 militia, 1 footman, or 1 knight times the number of lands they own. They will also have a 1/20 chance of upgrading their castle in one of their lands. NPC lords pay no upkeep for their troops and subsequently, no gold is tracked.

Quests

Coming soon.

Seasons

Lords can do all regular actions during Spring, Summer, and Fall. During Winter, however, no lords, except for Ravenstern lords, can launch attacks on other lords. Spring will be March-May, Summer will be June-August, Fall will be September-November, and Winter will be December-February.

General Tips

-You probably need multiple lords working together in order to conquer another lord's lands. Make alliances!

-A lord's castle is weakest when that lord is fighting elsewhere. Choose your battles wisely.

-Champion Knights (Players who are Knights) can bolster your defences or strengthen your attack. In the late game, you should give extra lands to your loyal knights once you've reached your max lands limit (max 3).

-Only the Ravenstern can attack in the winter, which means you probably don't need the bulk of your army during that time. Disband some troops if you don't want to pay their wages (you won't get the money you used to pay for them though).

-Higher troop tiers are more expensive relative to their strength, but they also require less upkeep. Balance your spending wisely.
