Chapter 18 - Aftermath

Marcel's POV

I guess I have to spend time with Warren since he invites not only me but also Molly and Fallon to spend time in the city.

It's been a long time since I still remain in the game with the other three. Maybe a break from the competition wouldn't hurt.

I mean I would rather go out than deal with the chaos in our cabin.

Marcel: (I guess I have to go since it's one chance to make memories with others.)

I went on the bus before going inside so I could go to the city.

After riding on the bus, I arrived in the city of Blahi. I got off the bus before going to look for the three.

I went to the park and I saw Warren, Molly, and Fallon waiting for me.

Warren: Hello Marcel! We've been waiting for you so we can have fun in the city!

Fallon: To remember where we went through during the competition where we made it far in the game.

Warren: (What do you mean, I got robbed in that placement...)

Molly: Except for Warren.

Fallon: Molly! We shouldn't point that out! Plus he tried!

Molly: Sorry...

Marcel: Now that I'm here, where should we go?

Fallon: Maybe it could be anywhere-

Then we heard fighting near the park.

That's weird... there is no fighting in any parts of the city unless it's those two again.

Come on, why can't we take a break from the chaos they caused? Plus, all I want is something peace and quiet. Isn't it hard to ask?

Marcel: Is it Colton and Pierce?

Warren: I bet it is.

Pierce: Why do you always eat the pineapples on pizza!?

Colton: Because it tastes good!

Pierce: Get your abomination ass away from me!!! I bet that I can make a sandwich out of croissants to start the world war!!!

Colton shows the Hawaiian pizza which Pierce pushes away.

Marcel: Let's get out of here...

Warren: Yeah, we don't want to get involved.

We went to different parts of the park to get food together. There are plenty of options for us to choose, like hot dogs, corn dogs, crêpes, and other street foods which are cheaper than any fancy restaurant.

Warren: So what do you want to get?

Fallon: Molly will get the crêpes while I try the churros.

Marcel: I guess I'll go with the fried mandu.

Warren: What's that?

Marcel: It's basically a stick of fried dumplings. It's my childhood snack when my family go out to buy those for me.

Warren: I see... I'll stick up with soft pretzels despite the fact that they're too salty for anyone's taste.

Marcel: Alright, let's go.

We went to the food court of the park before buying the food that we wanted to try, but for me, I wanted to live in my childhood again by eating a stick of fried mandu.

Then we go around the city to spend time with each other while having the memories since I got along with the three from the beginning when we first got here.

End of Marcel's POV

Meanwhile, with Aiden

Aiden went to the same apartment where Rye, Everest, and Gavin live.

Aiden: I guess I have to eavesdrop and record it in case before picking sides.

He climbs up to their window before holding on. He records it with the tape recorder by filling it with the cassette tapes before he keeps quiet and holds onto the window.

Rye: So Gavin, how's the process of the competition? Is it finished?

Gavin: Right... there are only four contestants left.

Rye: Damnit! We have to wait! I'm waiting for my revenge on her! She literally framed me to get me fired from the same job we're in!

Everest: Be patient. We can plan this over while we can. Let's sabotage the airplane by releasing the sleeping gas in the passengers' seats, then we'll bring it to the abandoned laboratory so you can show it to your boss.

Rye: This is why you're useful, unlike Gavin. Even though we rescued his ass from being caught by a bunch of citizens here!

Aiden: (Favoritism... Interesting...)

He continued to hang on the window while he continued to record their conversation.

Rye: But for now, make sure there are no intruders or our neighbors interfering with us. Gavin, guard the door since you didn't do much shit!

Gavin: Yes sir...

Gavin went outside their room before guarding it to avoid intruders or their neighbors.

Aiden: Poor Gavin...

Rye: Wait, do you hear something? Everest check the window!

Everest: On it!

Aiden: Oh shit!

Aiden stops the recording and grabs the cassette tape before running away, leaving the tape recorder. He retreats to the tent that he made on the rooftop of the mall.

Aiden: That was a close one...

He checks if he left something and finds out that he left the tape recorder outside the window of the three.

Aiden: You got to be kidding me...

Everest checks the window and sees the tape recorder.

Everest: Rye, there's a tape recorder, but it's empty!

Rye: Oh crap, this is bad! We have to do something!

Everest: But how!? We don't know who recorded our conversation!

Rye: Then let's break into each room to see if they have the cassette tapes hidden. We don't have to worry, since whoever left the tape recorder is an idiot. Plus, we don't have to look for one.

Everest: (Was that stealing?)

Rye: Don't worry, we'll keep it hostage.

Everest: Fair enough.

Aiden was chilling inside the tent before reading Penny's diary.

(Day 2,
While thinking of the plan to do with the money, I decided to host the show which the winner would be given with the money. I know it's stupid since we'll be followed by them soon. I talked to Pax and Bryon about this. Bryon supported the idea, while Pax wasn't sure. We made the title of the show, which was "Battle For All Challenge", and we made invitations for random contestants. I hope Rye didn't get the invitation since he might know it's me. I hired the pilot for a private plane since it would be for the contestants. I guess it will happen soon.

From Penny.)

Aiden: So that's how it started. Let me check for how many pages are left.

He checks her diary to check the remaining pages, which have two pages left.

Aiden: I guess I'm invested in the origin of the show.

He kept the diary in the drawer before closing his tent.

Aiden: (I'll take a break.)

Then he heard his phone ringing in his earpiece.

Aiden: Damnit! What now Kenny!?

Kenny: Hitman, how's the investigation of the three?

Aiden: Got their conversations recorded.

Kenny: Good, you better not leave the evidence.

Aiden: (I accidentally left the tape recorder) I leave no crumbs!

Kenny: Alright, I'll end the call. You better not do something stupid.

Then the call ended.

Aiden: Yeah right...

Aiden was resting inside the tent since he would continue to read Penny's diary some other time to know more about the origins of Battle For All Challenge.
