Capri's POV

Finally, it's New Year's Eve.

It's time for us to prepare for the new year which will be 2024. But where do I start, since there's a lot of things to do?

Maybe I should hang out with my roommates? Or Priya? It's hard for me to decide...

Guess I'll hang out with my roommates unless Penny gathers us to celebrate New Year together.

I went to the open area to see Brayden and Spencer preparing fireworks.

That's interesting. I mean that's one of the things we need for our preparation for New Year.

Capri: So fireworks are one of the things we need...

Peggy: Definitely! I can sit here to watch the fireworks tonight with you guys!

Colton: Give me the cake pop! That's what you get for stealing the last cake pop from me on our creator's 17th birthday!

Pierce: You moron! You can buy it in a cafe or ask Beatrix for some!

Colton: Not until you give me one!

Pierce: Fine!

Pierce gave him 20 bills.

Pierce: Go buy one, so you can leave my ass alone!

Beatrix: No need. I brought two boxes of cake pops.

Beatrix puts two boxes on one of the picnic tables.

Colton: Can I have one?

Beatrix: Sure!

Beatrix gives Colton a cake pop for him to eat.

Colton: Thank you!

Pierce: Now where's my 20 bills?

Colton: I'm going to keep it.

Pierce: You son of a bitch!

Colton: (No time to savor the cake pop.)

Colton quickly eats the cake pop before he starts running.

Pierce chases Colton while Colton runs away, holding 20 bills.

Peggy: Minus the chaos that those two caused.

Capri: Yeah...

Cain: But what matters is that we have fun together! If we ignore the two, especially that homophobic pasta.

We look at the sky as if it was already nighttime.

Capri: Guess we have some time to spare before midnight. I mean, what else are we going to do?

Peggy: I have UNO cards.

Destiny: What about DOS?

Capri: What's that?

Destiny: It's basically UNO except when you have two cards in your hand, you have to say "DOS".

Capri: Got it.

Warren: Or we can play Games of The General that I also brought with me.

Warren puts down the board game on our picnic table. I looked at it and I felt familiar with the game that Warren told us about.

Capri: I remember this. I used to play this before with my brothers.

Peggy: What does that mean?

Capri: It's basically an educational war game where you use the pieces against the opponent. The objective is simple, you have to lead a flag to the opponent's side.

Capri: It's not just a luck game, but also a mind game as well.

Adrian: Can I play with you Warren? I want to try it.

Warren: Sure.

Capri: Can I play with you after Adrian? I'll play the first round in DOS.

Warren: Of course!

Adrian and Warren are playing Games of the General while I played DOS with Destiny and Peggy.

After I finished playing DOS, I got to play Games of The General with Warren to pass some time.

Some of them are eating the food that Rayna, Ollie, and Beatrix had brought earlier. Some of them played some cards and board games to lighten up the mood. And some of them start the conversation about the preparation for the countdown.

End of Capri's POV

After a few hours had passed by, it was 11:59 PM, when they'd start the countdown.

Penny: Is the radio ready?

Pax: Sis, the radio is on.

Penny turns on the radio and some of the objects on the radio start counting down.

They started counting down as well.

All: Ten! Nine! Eight!...

They continued to countdown while Brayden prepares the lighter and waits for the right time.

All: Five! Four! Three! Two! One!

Brayden lit up the fireworks before they flew into the sky and exploded for them to see.

All: Happy New Year!!

Some of them used smoke bombs or confetti bombs.

Brynn and Cain admire the sight of the fireworks before they both shared a kiss.

Cain pulls him close while he closes his eyes and puts his arms around him.

Brynn was surprised by Cain's kiss as he also closes his eyes and put his arms around him.

They both pulled away while they both panted for air.

Cain: Love our kisses that we do this every New Year.

Brynn: Yeah, it's quite special to you, is it?

Cain: Yeah...

Pierce: Gayyyy!

Marcel: Don't disturb the couple.

Pierce: Aw come on!

Some of them continued to eat the food. Some of them went back to their cabins to end the day. And some of them continued to watch the fireworks while staying up late.
